Yayyyyy!! I had looked at many yt videos saying ‘beginner Friendly’, and had gone out to buy the materials only to struggle for days to do any before coming across this video!!! Was about to give up honestly and use knitting needles as I’m a knitter and this is my first time ever trying my hand at crocheting THANK YOU!!
Thank you for sharing a wonderful pattern . I have started a sweater using this pattern . Made the body of the sweater so the rows run up and down . Made the ends the opening in the front . Made a raglan sweater top until it was big enough for the bottom . Put together and now an getting ready to go around the whole piece with a trim and do the sleeves .
I was struggling to learn how to turn properly and use the correct stitches so my work was even on the ends. I have been watching a lot of other tutorials on this subject and you are the only one that has made sense to me! So now I think I can do it properly thanks to you! I have subscribed and look forward to many more of your tutorials! Thank you so much!!
I can't thank you enough for being such a lifesaver! I was on the verge of giving up on making a baby blanket for my first ever niece bcs all the other beginner friendly tutorials weren't easy for a dumb beginner like me. I stumbled upon your video and decided to give it one last try. It was sooo easy to follow and the pattern is rlly cute. Hoping to get it done in a few days ☺️
Very simple, and won't eat alot of yarn, but also has a very nice look to it. This is why your my favorite RUclipsr! Its hard for me to grasp the more difficult stitches. Thanks Rebekah!
LOVE your tutorials and have been following them through and having a wonderful time learning new crochet techniques!! You have a lovely gift for teaching!! Wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping to see you back on youtube SOON!!!
Rebekah you’ve read my mind again. I’ve been asked to make a baby blanket with some bobbles in it and this is the ideal stitch for the main part of the blanket. Bless 💖🦋
I wish I could upload the photo of the one I did based on this design. I always struggle with straight edges. Thank you for showing me how to make them straight and strong for borders.
I just stumbled across this beautiful pattern. Simplicity at its best. Just what I was looking for. I have been searching for something simple, classic and easy and this is it! I enjoy working with #5 chunky yarn because smaller weight is a strain on my eyes but I wanted a pattern that didn't bulk up my already bulky yarn. Thank you! If you have any other patterns that might work for me like this one I would be very appreciative.
I really like this tutorial, my neice is due at the end of September. I will be making some baby blankets and other things for her from me and my girls. Thank you for this project, it will certainly come in handy.
I definitely agree with the other person who said your voice is so soothing you make your tutorials easy to follow I would like to say thank you I learnt to crochet with you x
So sad to hear of your continuing health issues. You are doing the best thing and all your fans will be waiting patiently and hopefully for your full recovery. All good thoughts to you and your family.
Thank you so much Rebekah for this lovely easy pattern for a beginner like me. I have started making a baby blanket in a deep pink chunky knit yarn and it looks really nice and neat. So simple to do and crochets up quickly too. Going to add a matching border of two tiers treble crochet in cream. Love your tutorials, everything is explained so thoroughly in a calm, soothing voice. You are an excellent teacher! 😀
Hi Rebekah what a beautiful and simple baby blanket looks so cosy and the swatch made in super chunky looks like it would make a lovely rug . Iv read in the comments that you are not well at the moment so I hope you are feeling much better very soon , thank you and take care 😊Amanda xx
Like others have said, I’ve watched a lot of videos on crocheting for beginners, but yours are the absolute best. You talk slowly you crochet slowly and you show everything up close. On many videos it’s very hard to see which stitch they’re going in but in yours, it’s very very easy to see and understand. Thank you
Thank you so much! Haven’t crotcheted ever but I do knit and this seems like an easy project to get started with! I was looking for something easy with a beautiful pattern and so happy I came across yours 😊
Instead of making a vertical stitch for height on your treble crochet at the beginning of the row, can you just chain 2 for your height? Hope that didn't sound too confusing lol.
Thanks so much for the tutorial its really simple but i have an issue with my blanket. for the past few rows i noticed that my rows are getting wider but only on one side. I counted the stickes and they are the same so I'm really confused
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Its my first time crocheting and I managed to come up with a baby blanket for my niece 🥰 everyone loves the design!
I've nearly completed a blanket (cot sized) using this pattern. It's turned out well (thank you for the tutorial), however I've struggled with tension and it seems bigger (wider) at the finished edge than at the foundation chain edge. Could you give some tips (or perhaps do a tutorial on tension?) By the way, I love your tutorials, they are so easy to follow and my crochet has improved loads due to watching them, as I say it's just the tension I'm struggling with. Could it be because the blanket is quite large and that's why it's difficult to keep the tension right?
Ive made my blanket and followed your instructions exactly as they should be.. and are great! however moving up the blanket it looks like its narrower.. ive use 100% acrylic yarn.. ive got the same amount of stitches at the bottom as I have the top too.. where have I gone wrong 😩
Hi Rachel, I'm a beginner at crocheting. I have made a dozen pot holder (maybe more) lol, dish clothes and coasters. I wanted to make throw blanket so started this blanket yesterday. I'm on my fifth row and started to realize it's a bit wave, like my initial starting chain is tight causing ripple waves. I may not be describing my problem correctly. My question is will my ripples straighten out as I continue with the rows or should I unravel everything and start over? Please answer quickly, I'm addicted to crocheting and need to crochet, lol. I love you videos!!
Love the texture to this blanket. I chained 85 to do mine and because I skipped the first chain to begin with double crochet I understand I should have 84 stitches but I still have 85....is that anything to do with the treble stitches being in there too? I'm so confused 🤯🤯
I absolutely love this pattern! My SIL is having a baby (due in January) and this is the perfect blanket to make with my chunkier yarn. Is it easy to add a border to this particular pattern?
Fantastic! I thought it would be easy since I've been looking at the stitches along the outside edges and they will definitely allow for a nice neat line, just wanted to be certain. I've settled on a rainbow moss stitch border to match the rainbow pattern. Thank you again for posting this video and the border tutorials!
I just tore out all of my stitches out of my blanket that I was knitting and I now looking for a crochet pattern. It is a 6 weight yarn and I wanted to find out the best size hook for that weight. I love this pattern, but I don't understand the UK stitch.
1. Do a chain whatever length you want. 2. US - single crochet back/next row. 3. US - double crochet next row. Repeat 2 & 3.: single, double, single, double. .etc. end the height of your work on a single.
I love this blanket, I am a little concerned that you have said how simple this project is, but have now watched it several times and have to say you do appear to struggle getting the hook through on numerous occasions particularly with the last stitch on each row. I am very much a novice so not sure I would be able to attempt this yet unfortunately.
I have been looking for a pattern that's different from the normal ones that are out there. I'm not saying they're bad or anything, I just wanted something different. When I saw this one, I was like Oh my goodness !! This is what I want to do. Thank you so very much for this tutorial. I love it.
Your voice is so soothing and this tutorial is so relaxing that I actually made my FIRST BABY BLANKET. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The simplicity of the stitch with a beautifully detailed border will make such a stunning blanket or scarf. Thank you

Yes if you prefer to do that, you absolutely can 😊

Hi I am thinking of doing this blanket for my children's nursery and school teachers would I be able to make up small squares and sew them together
How many stitches would you use for a 1 skein baby blanket
I'd love to know that too! Trying to do my first baby blanket, first blanket period.
I absolutely love this pattern! My SIL is having a baby (due in January) and this is the perfect blanket to make with my chunkier yarn. Is it easy to add a border to this particular pattern?
Yes absolutely - as it's a quite simple blanket, you could even do a fancy border :)
Fantastic! I thought it would be easy since I've been looking at the stitches along the outside edges and they will definitely allow for a nice neat line, just wanted to be certain. I've settled on a rainbow moss stitch border to match the rainbow pattern. Thank you again for posting this video and the border tutorials!
What does this look like when it’s done? It would be nice if you showed the lamb at the beginning.
Great tutorial and I love the look
