The ride didn't last in Texas due to the heat causing issues with traction on the tire driven lift. The ride had an incident where it rolled back and struck a train in the station. After this they added anti rollbacks but still had problems getting the trains over on the very frequent hot days so Six Flags moved it to California where the climate was more moderate. When they did this they raised the first two loops to lower the G forces. Premier Rides did the alterations. The reason there are so many block brakes is because the ride was designed to run up to 5 trains on the track at a time. This is very common on Schwarzkopf coasters. The block brake before the last loop is not lower than the loop. That's your perspective playing tricks on you.
I also remember reading that Zonga's lift was modified sometime within its life. Not sure if that was before or after its gig at sfdk, but something did change.
Yea, I didn’t mention this in the video but premier rides ironically did track work in zonga when it came to sfdk. Then premier rides ended up building a coaster where it used to stand.
I rode this when it was Zonga at Marine World in 2003. My parents were huge WB fans and since Six Flags owned the rights to WB characters, we made it our bucket list to go to every Six Flags park, including the international ones. I was totally in love with this coaster because the name "Zonga" gave me "alien computer virus" vibes (that is to say, it reminded me of Swayzak, a villain from Toonami.) It got scrapped in 2019, so we will never have another Zonga. Just like Swayzak isn't coming back. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHY CAN'T THESE TWO THINGS FROM MY CHILDHOOD COME BACK?! Same with Krypton Comet at Six Flags America.
All the brake runs were so they could run upwards of 3 trains at once. Olympia Looping can run up to 5 trains at once cause safety is the rider's responsibility. As the last inversion was called a Loopscrew.

I want the original coaster to come back, not a "hip with the kids these days" RMC single-rail coaster. Loosely theme it to Swayzak from Toonami, because the ride always reminded me of him.

Yeah voodoo had a very boring ride cycle and I don't ever remember the fountains working.
