Over 25 years ago my sister ran into a wasps nest on the side of our wood shed. I was inside the garage when I heard her screams and ran out to see her tearing through the yard screaming her head off....I didn't know wtf was happening until she got close. I grabbed turned the hose faucet on and sprayed her until the cloud of wasps f*cked off and left her and I alone. Years later, I'm watching Deathly Hallows with my niece and when it got to that scene... her screams took me right back to that moment. Emma Watson sounded exactly like my sister's screams from that day. Absolutely haunting

I read about two actors who had a big emotional scene to film in the afternoon. The man spent all morning listening to sad musuc and looking at photos of dead relatives (taken when they were alive) to get into the right mood. The woman spent the morning chatting with the makeup girls, snacking and laughing and joking with the camera crew.
Come the filming, he felt that she blew him out of the water with the intensity of her performance which, he said, she just switched on like a light.
    It's an odd thing, acting.

Her screams in the movie really do sound real. Nobody in movies screams like that, which makes it all the more harrowing.
In a similar vein, in the scene in Order of the Phoenix where Harry is screaming after Sirius is killed, Daniel's scream was so visceral and disturbing that some of his fellow cast members were actually moved to tears, and the production crew ultimately had to mute the sound of it in the final cut in order to preserve the film's PG-13 rating.

This hurts so much every time I watch these things bc Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) wasn’t expecting this and she felt so bad during the scene and hugged her. Before this scene, Emma and Helena got super close because of the scene where Hermione turns into Bellatrix and they needed both actresses perfectly, so it was so painful to film. During the final battle in the book there is blood everywhere for example. That would put the film into 15 territory at least. Same with the Hermione torture scene. Including it would push the film's rating into a 15 minimum. They have to make sure that the largest audience can see it

@@tethys17 I don't think anyone cares what you call it if it means the performance is better, and makes for a better movie. If it's not acting, it's something better.

@@VColossalV It doesn't make the performance better. Great actors can drop in and out of characters in seconds. If it takes them weeks or months to "get into the mindset" they're a terrible actor.

@@tethys17 Oh, it does. It's why we have some of the most iconic performances of all time. Heath Ledgers Joker springs to mind, but there are many examples. I don't think anyone would argue the notable method actors are terrible actors, some of these would have won Oscars. This is semantics nonsense, of course they don't *literally* believe they're the character, but they *choose* to devote themselves to such an extreme that they're almost one with the character. I'm sure all the method actors are also good at normal acting on the spot, who says they're not versatile, they are just willing to go a step further if necessary to devote their entire being to their craft. But the truly exceptional performances might require full devotion to the role. That is not something to criticize. Like I said, nobody cares what you choose to call it if it means a more convincing performance.

@@VColossalV The oscars isn't based on talent. Some legendary films have received zero Oscars where as some terrible ones have received many.
Heath ledger did believe himself to be insane whilst method acting and committed suicide as a result.
Many method actors cannot get into character like a good actor so they have to stay in character and are often really unprofessional and annoying to work with on set.

When the take was cut as soon as Daniel and Rupert ran into the room, they thought Helena was actually cutting at Emma's arm... It looked so real, Daniel had to conjure an actual Cruciatus curse at Helena so that she doesn't hurt her, and then proceeded to try and burn the area around her.
Rupert tried to save Emma, as they found out that it was just really good acting, it almost cause those two guys to complete explode the set, gladly they didn't.
It's one of another made up stories like the rest of y'all. Don't worry, just read and enjoy. Everyone believes anything they read nowadays.

Helena Bonham Carter accidentally stabbed Emma Watson while they were filming. While they physically cut that scene out, they kept the genuine scream when cutting to the basement.
