Matt's shift as The Doctor was magical. He is sorely missed although 12 is good, We'll always remember when Matt was The Doctor and wish he was back in the TARDIS for a few more spins.
I stopped watching Doctor Who after Capaldi's first and second seasons. I gave him a shot, and I thought he did great with what he was given, but it... I just missed Eleven so much. I always went through the cycle before, 'hate he's leaving, curious about the new guy, not sure about the new guy, fall in love with the new guy, new favorite guy', but it just didn't happen with Capaldi. The writing got weaker, and I just missed Eleven too much. I'm super happy to see the new guy taking over and I love Jodi, so I'm catching up on Capaldi and I'm going to give it another go, but I still have a feeling the love and strength of will and emotion in Eleven will never truly be captured again as each Doctor has their own unique personality, and his just resonated with me the most. Beautiful tribute, made me miss loving Doctor Who as much as I did.

I'd suggest watching up to series 10, I had the same feeling as you. After Time Of The Doctor, I thought I could never watch the show again, but I gave it a chance, and now I love Peter. I did the same thing with Jodie tho, and she and the writing...just no.

In my heart I will always hold him as my Doctor. I still remember that day I watched my first episode of Doctor Who over 10 years ago, and I started with series 5. Of course I went back and watched the earlier years but he was, and always will be, the first face of the Doctor that this face ever saw. God bless Matt Smith and Steven Moffat for giving us these golden years.

when i first watched this video, i started crying. i didnt know why, but now i do. something grabbed my heart, made me think, and brought a tear to my eye, and then i realized. i was looking at my childhood. and even though i'm only 15, a lot has happened in the past 5 years since i started watching the show. i grew up.

I'm from the supernatural fandom, and I've only heard awesome things about Doctor Who, so I've decided to start watching it and enter this fandom that will probably be my death sentence. at least I won't stay dead for longer than two episodes

The Way Matt Portrayed 11 Was Just Beautiful. He Really Was The Truest Of Doctors. He Carried A lot Of Pain. Along With Sorrow. But No Matter How He Felt, He Pushed Through It And Helped Everyone. He Will Always Be My Doctor.
Matt Smith was by far the best doctor to me. The Doctor and Amy will always be the best duo. Nothing will ever change my mind.

He is objectively the best, he is even better than Tom Baker.
11 is one of the best Doctors ever and Matt Smith gave one of the best performances in television history. He plays the character as a tired, old man stuck in a childish, young man's body. He has some of the best scenes in Doctor Who and he will go down as a classic Doctor.

Matt Smith performed something really rare....following on from an hugely popular performance and not only equally but maybe even surpassing. And I'm not just talking about Doctor Who, how many times has anybody in any show equalled the original? Yes it does happen and on those rare occasions, its magical.

I don't know if its because I haven't watched the Tennant ones for ages but when I think of my favourite doctor, Matt always pops into my head. Although the 10th was the one that I saw when I joined the Doctor Who fandom (right word) but Matt is just... magical! It wasn't a doctor I felt stories were written badly and it was all perfect. It was also I feel Claras best time. Claras doctor was Matt, not Peters.
Really miss the 11th.. Although I should probably watch Tennant again...

Tennant is a great Doctor, but put him on the same level as Smith is just stupid.
I know why a lot of people prefer Tenth: for his human side.
But that's a very big problem for The Doctor who is AN ALIEN AND NOT A F*****G HUMAN BEING.
For the longest time Tom Baker was my favorite Doctor. But I have come to finally accept that Matt Smith's take on The Doctor is my new favorite. Thank you for such an admirable job, Mr. Smith. ;)

Eleventh Doctor looked.. handsome, to please people and was funny and witty to hide his past and all dark beneath and past him. But to me he was a man who always looked like he had a trick up his sleeve, he was the Doctor who always was oh so clever. Like Clara said "Run you clever boy." He looked yound and old at the same time, I don't know how and why. His hair was awesome, and the way he talked, his accent.
I loved every bit of the eleventh doctor. I can't put into words how I miss him, and when I heard his voice for the last time on the phone with Clara I shed a tear. And I shed so many tears watching the episodes with Matt Smith. It was a bumpy ride.
To me Doctor Who, the whole series is a picture of eleventh doctor in my head. Everyone has favorites, 12th is good as well there's no arguing that. But it's totally a different tone of the series, and 11th was the tone I needed in my life when I watched it as a kid and when I watched it later now as an "adult".
Powerful moments, witty tricks and.. I don't know, for example the pandorica box episode, and the big bang 2. Where Doctor was going back in time and visited all the past times with Amy etc. When he went to Amy and told her to remember when she was seven and said "No.. That's not the point." And while viewing the weeping angels episode where Amy was sitting with her eyes closed, I didn't notice that part. It was so cleverly written. The silence, the crack in the wall. Everything.
Like it all came together, even though watching the earlier episodes it felt like nothing was missing but when Doctor was going backwards it made a lot more sense. Will be fun to rewatch somewhere in the future again. I'm bummed up language barrier because I feel like I can't praise 11th Doctor enough with these words.
I will always remember him. I hope I could watch him forever play that role. But I can't, the series goes on. Actually I have only watched one episode of season 8, and I've heard that Capaldi is good. I will of course watch it and then embrace the 12th Doctor as well.
But to me the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith, was something I admired. Loved and was entertained by. No matter the episode or the situation. I know the series needed a bit darker tone, but this Doctor has a place in my heart forever. It's a mix of acting, the actor in a series that can never be matched by anything that I've watched. But I only mean Matt Smith and Dr. Who variable, which can't be matched.
I was and still am in a weird place in my life, but the nostalgia he brought to me and the episodes was something that helped me immerse into that world and "escape" this. I'm not talking about it helping with any sort of depression or anything like that. For some reason it also gave me motivation. I wish I could be like him, and I am a little bit. But not British and I don't mean that I'm a freaking Doctor. But his view of world, and again mines of course not as brilliant as timelords after living 1000+ years. Still something I felt I could connect to and loved.
What can I say? "I hate endings."

Finally got around to rewatching Matt Smith's seasons again since I first watched them. Never fully watched all of Capaldi's seasons, but just ordered his and both the 9th and 10th (Tenant)'s seasons -- that I've never seen. Definitely excited.

He was so broken. Damaged. Lost. His humour, clumsiness, and bubbliness was used to hide those facts. This is why Matt will always and forever be the superior doctor.

The first doctor i ever watched was matt smith i remember sitting in my living room looking up at the television and seeing the intro start and i could feel that this is the show that will take me through life
growing up with this show and with his face has showed me many things but the most important is, be yourself all through out your life and the mean of yourself might change and evolve but you will always be you, nothing can change that.

The eleventh doctor is silly and chaotic because he doesnt like the darkness inside of him. And I relate. Also, his regeneration was the one that hit me the most. I dont know if it was his speech or the fact that he saw Amy. But I cried. The eleventh doctor will always be my doctor.
