"After all you have done you can still go home..."
"Lucky you.."
"the 33rd don't want to go? fine, we'll bury them here"
G
THE 33rd DONT WANNA LEAVE DUBAI? FINE WE'LL BURY THEM HERE
People go into this expecting call of duty, end up getting silent hill and that's beautiful I think
Indeed. Masterpiece~
Code Red! Delta is in the area! The Marina has fallen. The whole fucking city has fallen! All remaining units are inbound. Everyone to your stations! *MOVE!!!*
This is Colonel John Conrad, United States Army. Attempted evacuation of Dubai ended in complete failure... Death toll... too many...
COD - MW2: I have one of the most controversial missions in video game history.
Spec Ops - The Line: *quietly sips water* Fool...
Welcome to hell, Walker. We’ve been waiting for you...
Kiryu ? Your talents lie elsewhere, a lot of punch and kicks.
What are the scariest seven words in English? We're delta we're here to save you
Yikes
* "I didn't mean to hurt anybody..." *
* "No one ever does Walker." *
That was just so harrowing.
This game was a psychological horror game
Some of the scenes in this game made No Russian from MW2 look like "my little pony"
The true gray morality.
No Russian is absolute family-friendly kids show in front of this.
more like war propaganda made by a child imagination
Correction..Spec Ops made whole Call of Duty franchise look like 'my little pony'
COD: War is fun.
Spec Ops: War is Hell.
Most of this game is just darker and more visceral than any COD game.
"You know it does feel like we're being watched."
-Adam
"Good! Someone should see how sexy I look on the job."
-Lugo
One of my favorite details in the 14th chapter is when all of the 33rd soldiers were now strapped and heavily equipped (I.E all of them wearing helmets and cleaner uniforms). We didn't see them looking like that in the early and mid game. But over the course of the game, they start to arm themselves better and bringing in more of their stronger soldiers, like the Zulu squad and the Heavy troopers, just so they could take down Delta. They even start to look like your average US soldier and not rogue scavengers. Reminding the player that you're killing actual American military.
"Ты чувствуешь себя героем?!"
Your friends, dead. The world on fire. And you...
alone.
it looks like a description of my life lmao
"You're a failure... Finally, we have something in common."
something we can all relate to
@@aaron4921 But then Konrad says that the talent of Walker is destroying and killing, so technically he didnt fail but got what he was looking for
I played a lot this game back in 2016, now its a ghost game, i cannot find one single player... Good old times
It lives in your heart 'n' mind, doesn't it?~
@@ShVanesMusic yes... Was insane...
Ppl actually play on steam
I play...but I am a firm believer that the game only works because of the tone in the singleplayer campaign
I've heard that a lot of players came back after the release of TLOU2.
"All I really want captain... Is peace"
Everytime I replay this part of the mission, I ALWAYS without fail freeze up. The fire... the screaming... It still gets to me.
"Do you feel like a hero yet?"
Welcome to hell walker
We've been waiting for you.
*the burning and screaming people runs towards you*
that is stll my favret quote in all of existence
Now this is a good game. Forget the gameplay being mediocre, this game is one of the only games I can think of that really shows the depths of severe trauma. Walker went through the who game trying to save people, but as the evil events stack up, he gets more and more violent because the self defense mode is kicking into Overdrive x35. By the end a man who wanted to save everyone he could killed them, at worst he goes home with severe trauma and constant night terrors, forever haunting him of what he did, and at best he dies in Dubai, the horrors of what happened dying with him. This game will forever shape how I handle my trauma (in a good way I promise) and for that I am forever grateful to the devs. Much love to everyone and hug your loved ones more. You never know what they're going through.
No, I don't think Walker's death is the best ending, and the trip from Dubai is the worst. In the end, we don't know what happened to him after returning home, but at least he had a chance to fix his fucked-up psyche and his life, even after all this.
Lucky him.
@@nukebomblegalizator I would like to agree but you don't get to just go home and have a BBQ with the neighbors after something like the events of this game, it's just not possible, the evils he did will stay with him until the end of days and no amount of psychiatric help will get rid of these memories. Plus, living with trauma every day and always having visions of the awful things you did is way worse than dying because you have to live with those mistakes forever, if he dies then he doesn't have to suffer with them anymore, and put the horrors of what happened in Dubai to rest. Have a good day.
@@scottypittman1 Maybe. And it may also be that Walker will forgive himself, because "Conrad" told him to do so.
Yes, he will have an injury for the rest of his life, but after all, Walker is not an ordinary person in unusual circumstances.
He is a soldier, and not just a soldier, but the captain of the Delta Force group. I mean, he already had combat experience and quite a stable psyche at the time of the start of the game.
Walker has a tiny, but a chance for a normal life.
@@nukebomblegalizator I mean there's always that chance, but at the end of the day you don't do something like he did and forget it over night.
ive always loved the discourse that this game spawns
A spec ops comment section isn't complete if someone doesn't quote it so I'll be that guy
*Do you feel like a hero yet?*
You did what the storm could not. Destroyed the 33d.
“Killing for yourself is murder, killing for your government is heroic, killing for entertainment is harmless...”
The U.S. Military does not condone the killing of unarmed combatants. But this isn’t real, so why should you care?
If you were a better person, you wouldn't be here.
But, still on you march, and for what.
For the last chapter where you fight, this song fits very well with the setting, especially after everything you did before.
A game made around the quote "War is Hell."
I've wanted a sequel since I finished it, but sometimes it's best to just have this one experience. Hopefully more shooters at least try to keep this mindset of showing just how brutal and dark war actually is, instead of showing off the multiplayer and stupid fun.
Gentlemen.... Welcome to Dubai
59:17 goddamn does this go hard. Great game, great soundtrack.
Bro actually stuck around till the end. MAD!
I dont care about the war crimes or making the player feel guilty, fuck all dat the music is awesome and badass more than depressing
I'll never forget my first playthrough in this game it was literally mind-blowing and sad at the same time .
in 2013 I mainly played three games: this, Skyrim, and Mass Effect 3.
This is the only one I've reloaded and played since.
First time i heard a full hour non stop of a song
I used to play the last level of this on FUBAR for fun. With three min loading screens (cause I did voodoo magic to run it on pc that had no business running it)
Good memories. Might redo it again.
Man I play this whole game on FUBAR for fun. Definitely should do it again.
The story of this game still sticks with me to this day. I don't know if there's ever been another game with a story that is so fucked up that it sticks with you like this one. Amazing game!
"You cannot understand, nor do you want to"
Best game
*Best of antiwar games.
(probably)

This is the game I'm going to review in the future. I'm gonna urge people to play it because this one of those games You have to experience yourself, best non-horror horror game ever.
Every existing thing is born without reason, prolongs itself out of weakness, and dies by chance.
I love this game is one of the best and more underrated ganes ever made the campaing and all the details like when you first arrive and you see conrads face on an advertidnent on the road and you see it again after you kill or "spare" riggs and a really really big one when you're crossing the canyon but after you advance a little on the level you see it actually is a girls face.
Also how at the highway just before the raiders ambush a message of conrad completly devastated is telling how the evacuation was a complete failure and how he forced his men to stay is playing and NO ONE gives a shit, how the crows arround de guys conrad tells you to kill or spare indicate that they're already dead, the look Lugo and Adams take to each other when Walker talks to Conrad using the broken radio.
This game is awesome it makes you feel bad while playing it spec ops is what tlou2 tried to be, Walker's obsesion whith Conrad wich only gave destruction to Dubai the 33rd and his team how everything passes from bad to worse to worser to even worser. How Walker's uniform goes from a regular standart U.S. army uniform in the begining while you figth with the 33rd who looks like ratlers trying to save civilians from them and in the end you look like shit while fighting the 33rd who now are wearing more profesional gear and defending a civilian camp from you.
This game is a masterpiece
Welcome to hell.
We've been waiting for you~
i love this ngl
Spec Ops The Line shows how ugly and traumaizing war truly is.
And terrifying
Welcome to hell Walker, we have been waiting for you.
The only way to get the good ending of this game?
*Don't play it...*
I watched the video analysis and explanation for it. I didn’t play it but still felt unsettling. There would never be a game like this ever.
