Peace for phos, the character development is on the next level.
Phos really went through every emotion possible for a human.
The whole thing about the cycle of begging for prayer never ending has been a thought in the back in my mind for a few chapters now. I really wonder if ichikawa is going to give hnk a proper end or if it's going to be more vague.
Most of her short stories have been pretty vague so I don't doubt we will be something similar with Houseki as well.
2:45 seeing that melting, amorphous baby Phos silhouette design imprinted on current phos's face when they think about their old self is such a cool visual
edit: just remembered what that melty phos reminded me of, it's from way back in volume one when they were being digested by ventricosus lol if that's intentional it's a cool throwback

I'm expecting HnK to end at either chapter 108, for expected reasons, or 107 if Ichikawa is feeling funky, granted that it can still take some time for us to reach it if Haruko bought Baldur's Gate 3.
This chapter is probably the one I liked most post prayer, the entire layout and development showed really well how conflicted and aprehensive Phos is now that they have company.
Hahaha I hope she does a little trolling and stop it at 107 lol. I am sure she’s going in on that or playing some Armored Core 6 lmaooo.
But yes I agree this chapter finally paid off all of the post prayer chapters in this sort of peace that is there but worry and regret still linger no matter what.
Its really beautiful how by changing their appearance, phos because more and more human but looked less and less like one as the time passes. It is indeed a very good way to charadesign something in my opinion.

i have a theory (this prolly will not happen knowing ichikawa but yk we can dream) what if new gems get made on earth? then phos can become the new sensei, and without the lunarians the new gem society can be more peaceful.
With Ch 96, even if new ones were made, they got taken up to the Moon it seems. And sadly with Ch 98, Phos seems to have prayed everything humanity related away (well outside of themselves).
I remember thinking about a repetition in Phos as the sensei and what not but alas it might have to stay as a dream 😓
