That cover was confusing for a lot of people. When I was young I remember thinking to myself WTF? Considering I was used to the original cover. It was like the twilight zone for KISS fans or a Bizarro universe.

My top three album covers are Dressed To Kill, KISS and Alive...not sure which order. Also Dynasty. All of these draw my attention...then maybe Rock n Roll Over. I sort of put Love Gun and Destroyer together. Maybe I like the Love Gun cover a bit more, but as I get older, I feel that the title Love Gun and the album cover brings us to Spinal Tap. It reminds me of Smell The Glove and Lick My Love Pump. That said, the artwork is phenomenal nevertheless.

Dude, I hate the Elder but I still have the vinyl I originally bought. When you said they should have put pics of Elder era in the album, I thought, "They Did" so I checked it yes in Australia we got an insert with their Elder era pics.

in my opinion I was shocked and Confused. When the first kiss record came out what was it animalize? That did not have a photo or a rendering of the band on the cover. So in my opinion I just think that all kiss records should have the members of Kiss faces on the front call me weird.
Ken Kelley painted both Destroyer and Love Gun, but I prefer Destroyer simply because the likenesses of the member’s faces aren’t that great on Love Gun. Particularly Ace! Just doesn’t look like Ace. Badass cover just the same. Destroyer would be my fave.
