Looking at same setup, but hoping to get a longer shock and reweld the upper shock mount further forward on the frame. Then I can run a longer shock with more travel. And keep the factory ride height but have more usable travel. I’ll see how this works.
Also Tim..could you tell me what your battery setup is. I'm running 3 7ah Lead acid battries and 1 12ah lead acid battery for a 48v configuration. My bike does 20mph and gets 10miles of travel with my 200lbs . It looks liken your using a Lithium ion battery.
Sorry just saw this .. The upgrade video for 36v is at ruclips.net/video/FaRNneB6dIg/видео.html . I did 48v lithium as well for this bike .. ruclips.net/video/V6NH6DDAPv0/видео.html . It's pretty much the same.
Darren you need to get all the same battery for best performance and life. Lithium are definitely a huge upgrade and lifepo4 sold by miady on amazon are the best bang for your buck. 16ah version is a direct replacement for the mx500 or mx650 batteries and will fit exactly like the original ones. All you need is a stripper and blue spade connectors. If you are doing 48v upgrade the forth battery stacks on the upper and glue/zip tie them together.
Hello, I have seen guys buy them on Amazon. If you are on Facebook join a group called Modified Razors and ask the question there. I have not bought them myself but one of the members should have a lunk. If you are not on Facebook let me know.
I think it’s called a screw post or something and the screw that goes in it is an m8 screw. You want one 24 mm big I think. Maybe a regular m8 nut and bolt would be a good replacement though and that should be easier to find.
I Purchased a DNM DV22AR -200mm shock on eBay for $45 fit perfect and added 3.5inches of ride height in the rear. Any longer and I’d have to do the front upgrades.
MX650 Rear Tire Change and Fresh Look! ruclips.net/video/oW36kI0CWYM/видео.html Tips for replacing the Razor MX650 or MX500 rear tire, which is a royal pain. I'm also painting the back rim and adding some spoke protectors for a fresh look.
Hey Tim, I really like the videos, thank you so much for making them! I'm on the Facebook group also, I see you helping people there also. I would eventually like to upgrade the front and rear suspension of my razor like you have done. I was wondering if you could answer a question or two for me. It seems like the rear suspension is a bit simpler to modify it in the front, there's less pieces to source. I was thinking about doing that first, but it doesn't make the bike sit at a funny angle when you raise the rear and leave the front at stock height does it?
My nephew's kid's is on the lower setting so what would moving it to higher setting accomplish? I know it's higher but it also looks to be further away so I'm thinking maybe not. Thanks.
From my experience moving the rear shock higher makes you sit right next to the fake gas tank (Rear shock being 210 mm) so if you are wanting to go higher its highly recommended to upgrade the front forks so you sit more in the center instead of right up against the fake gas tank, hope this solves your question
Fix Stuck Razor MX650 Forks!! Disassemble, fix, lube, and reassemble stuck Razor MX650 or MX500 forks. @@TimArmbruster - I'm literally writing it down now from the video and I'm about to go on Amazon or Ebay..... Thanks for the info in the video, I'm trying to get my mx650 raised front and back. I plan on getting the risers from the hardware store to increase the fork length and a bigger shock on the rear... Also, I want to make it into a supermoto style w/ different rims and street tires.
@@xpndblhero5170 Sounds awesome .. If it's supermoto you may not care too much about actual suspension. If that is the case, buy the SX500 shock. 19$ on ebay and is taller and will give you what you need. I jump mine on dirt tracks so I do care about suspension and am willing to pay $$ for the right suspension. Here is what I did for the front forks: ruclips.net/video/V6NH6DDAPv0/видео.html
I've been running this 200mm shock from DNM for over two years now with no issues on both my 500 and 650... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D497BM1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Install a 48v 30Ah Lithium battery in your Razor MX650!! It's a tight fit, but will fit in your MX650 or MX500. I estimate this will give you 3-4 hours of constant hard riding run time with the 1800watt 48v upgrade. Please like and subscribe. ruclips.net/video/4XnDhtz9sRg/видео.html

I haven't been able to find the exact one recently either, but I provide the dimensions in the video and there are several other very similar shocks that will work.
Thanks for all the measurements here! I ended up getting a DNM damping 2 system 190mm shock which leveled out the bike perfectly for my 9 year old.
Awesome!

Great video with measurement etc.
Awesome Tim ! That suspension upgrade really makes a world of difference. My buddy wants to do the shock upgrade but its not easy finding the shock.
36v lithium. See video here ruclips.net/video/nYQXfWePBMQ/видео.html

Tim love the videos, my question is where can you get replacement shock bolts if they’re bent or sheared? Tried to find them on Amazon and cannot?

@Darin Deperto would you still recomend the DV22AR-200 after a month?? I see it's on amazon prime! will likely be purchasing for my build.
Markradosevich yeah it is a firm shock and added a modest lift.
It says it’s for 750lbs is that not too much?
What shock ? full name and part number ????

Thamk you! Yes, the rear suspension mod is very easy compared to front, and it is a cheap and good mod. The bike sits fine with rear mod only.

. We meet again! .
Volkswagen autoworks lol
By default the bike kinda leans back so adding a 190mm shock it should be pretty level

Does the shock make the bike taller?
Yes, 4 or 5 inches taller
Will it fit a rsf650?
Actually I an not sure, sorry
Do you have a link for that shock¿?
I'm sorry, I can't find that specific model anymore. I give the dimensions in the video, so anything with the same dimensions should work.
