    Question. It appears that your tach redlines at 7k, which is what IE's ECU tune says it's supposed to be at, correct? "Factory rev limits have been raised to 7000RPM in all stages." I'm running stage 1 ECU and their TCU tune for the DSG and my revlimiter stayed at the stock 6,700 RPM. I'm just wondering if mine was also supposed to change to 7k RPM, and if not, maybe I need to re-flash it or contact them and see what's up if that's the case. Thanks!

    • @JayChesterman
      @JayChesterman  2 месяца назад +1

      yeah mines 7k now, I’d reach out to IE - from my experience they’re support is pretty responsive during the week, but I have a feeling they’ll ask you reflash
      how are you liking stage 1?

    • @warningx10x24x
      @warningx10x24x 2 месяца назад +1

      @@JayChesterman I’ll do that. I saw on some older forums that they said it should change, but they’re all different so maybe it just didn’t change for my TCU. Appreciate it!

      i just took a look over a log i have and my max RPM is 6939.75
      i do notice during spirited driving the car will shift before then though even if i rev it out, but i think at full throttle it'll rev out to that 6939.75

    • @warningx10x24x
      @warningx10x24x 2 месяца назад

      @@JayChestermanI tested mine on the way to work today and it shifts around 6,500RPM even floored. I did get it to rev out through the 6,700RPM redline to about 6,900RPM, but only in manual mode.

    I made the jump from a 7.5r to an RS3(in mythos black and with grey wheels lol) and its definitely worth the extra money. Granted I was going to be doing a turbo/fueling uprgade on the R, bbk and subframe stuff so it just made sense to upgrade. That being said, I am now looking to get even more out of the RS3 so I may build the engine and go FF or a g80 might be in my future lol Also, make sure you have the fake engine sounds turned off

    • @JayChesterman
      @JayChesterman  2 месяца назад +1

      damn, downpipes and a tune isn't enough for you with the rs3?? you're a speed demon brother lol
      that's the same spec i'd want (mythos black grey wheels, as you can probably tell from the video)
      when i bought my previous car (2019 ss 1le camaro), i had a tuned toyota 86 and was looking at going down the supercharger route, and after pricing it out it made more sense to just buy a faster car haha so i understand the logic

    • @Kujashin
      @Kujashin 2 месяца назад +2

      @@JayChesterman You always get used to the speed and want a little more. Sometimes you have to just tell yourself enough is enough. It’s always a better value to just buy the faster car, but sometimes the journey of really modifying a car is more fun

      no issues at all besides a slow coolant leak that I caused by not tightening a clamp enough when I installed the intake, water pump hasn’t broke yet (fingers crossed haha)

      if you live in a hot place you should do an intercooler, I’ve only ever noticed some power loss maybe once on a really hot day after doing some pulls but we have so many months of cool and cold weather here where I live

    I’m thinking about getting an s3 (facelift) sometime in august/September, any tips on what I should look for? And how do you feel about getting a higher km s3 70-110kms

    • @JayChesterman
      @JayChesterman  2 месяца назад

      you should be good, i personally would try to find under 100k km but make sure you're able to get the maintenance history for the car, maintenance is really important on these cars (making sure oil, dsg services etc are all done on time)
      another thing to look out for would be to see if the water pump has been done or not, if it's not been replaced and it's a higher km car there's a better chance you'll run into the issue
