Watching this in 2024 is insane. Got this phone during my first year of high school and it was my first smartphone! I thought the widgets were so cool.
Not clear what your problem is with the internal phone storage. Could you elaborate more?
Great review! Getting this in a couple of days. You covered everything, thank you!
I suppose to get Samsung Galaxy Mini but when I saw this review, it changed my mind. This review is very helpful.
4.3 inch giant phones! 🤣🤣🤣 Writing this on my Note 10 Plus with a 7 inch screen. What we used to think was "giant". LOL!
@MobileTechReview Does the UK version have it? I have contacted HTC but they said no.
i like your videos, i feel like im warming at a beach listening to u....wildfire is my nostalgia ,brought it in mid 2011....had a one V after that too...now a iphone 5 ....now im realizing the money i wasted...this phone was good enough! a good 5mp camera too.
if i were to get a micro sd card could i transfer the pre installed apps onto that new card?
just love your reviews ma'am
best of luck with everything!
getting this as an early bday present, my first android..hopefully as is well, thanks for the review..it was simple and easy to understand! most ppl say things that i have to google to understand.. :)
@PandoXLR Not with built-in apps. Look for 3rd party app that might let you do texting via WiFi.

please tell me does it have games nfs shift working with motion sensor.
Can u go on internet if you have wireless at your house?
@MegaBigbiscuit You need to use 3rd party software to sync with iTunes and yes, it does have WiFi.
just got this phone yesterday...its amazing
Had this phone and it served me well . I put up with it . Low internal storage will haunt you . I had to clear data for most apps everyday . It's pretty slow too . My htc evo v 3d 4g should be here tommarow :D

Dude it's 2021
Is this better than galaxy Y? the processor is only 600mhz y has 830mhz???
We cant store much apps on the phone, and sometimes the memory is full. Theres some apps that cannot be transfer to SD card. and its really annoying. Please help

@Nathantheboxopener Excellent! Let us know how you like it!

OKAY , i have this phone and there are these two little looking things at the top of the screen that look like they should either light up or they should be the camera on the other side of the screen . you probably never noticed them cause there actually very small , i just wanna know what the heck their there for .
Can the phone be changed to the language chinese
does it come with optus ?
when i was looking at new phones for my phone plan for virgin mobile i was looking at the lg optimus v and the htc wildfire s. i looked at this video several times and looked at the lg optimus v and it seemed like the htc was a better phone. You were right i love my phone! even though i have problem with the internal phone storage and my screen freezes sometimes i love it do u have any suggestions on how i can fix the internal phone storage?
Can I upgrade to ICS?
@PandoXLR Yes, you can.
Thanks! Please feel free to share our reviews. Thanks!:)
this one or the samsung galaxy ace?
HTC one !!. Even though I'm stuck with HTC wildfire s for 3 weeks until the one
htc wildfire s or htc legend? which to buy?
Does the "S" stands for Super or Speed or Small?
I'm having the same problem. The problem is the internal storage just keeps filling up with normal use. For me, it's gotten to the point where some my phone's features stopped working because there's "not enough memory". I've moved all apps that I can to my SD Card. I recently did a factory reset and it's pretty much back to normal, but even tho it's not as bad as before, it's starting to fill up again. It's like my 512 megabytes ROM is being taken up by files that seem to come outta nowhere.
When I bought this phone I read the manual and saw that it has got 490mb of internal space but when I turned on the phone I had only 125mb at my internal space , I can't understand what is wrong.anyone help
Htc wildfire s or samsung galaxy ace?
is this fone any good ? better than htc cha cha ? please help
@clouds5
On my Wildfire S, PlayerPro's widgets, the Sense UI, and the Android OS all fight for control over the lock-screen. When you press the lock button and the music is playing there's a 70% chance that the music controls come up. It's very inconsistent and very annoying.
Also, as I mentioned bellow, the equalizers cause some songs to skip for whatever reason.
It updated to Android 2.3.5. They changed the lock screen to the same one on HTC Sense 3.0. I really love my HTC Wildfire S :D 333
this or sony live with walkman?
optimus v or wildfire s?
@tehbible I do too. I LOVE MobileTechReview reviews. These are honestly the best video reviews on the internet. It's fun to just sit back and relax and watch reviews of all of these devices that I have no intention of ever buying. I don't even understand it myself. As a fellow Texan in Fort Worth, Lisa, you make us proud. ;)
this or xperia mini pro?
Is the temperature outside really 100 deg F? Yikes that is HOT!
What should I get:
1.Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro
2. HTC Wildfire S
@friesmadecheesy
HTC Sense is on 2.1, but Android is on 2.3.3 Gingerbread, which is pretty close to the latest one.
like my internal phone storage will always be filled up and my memory chip has over 1gb left on it and i constantly have to delete stuff to make room on my phone so that i can use it like most of the time i cant access my pictures because it will tell me i dont have enough room to view them
Can I buy htc wildfire s
I have HTC Wildfire S.
It's my first smartphone that I own and this phone is the best bang for my buck.
@treyrod1998 yeah you can do that with any android/smart phone
The network was crazy busy after the quake, a lot of ppl making calls to loved ones.
You remind me of Leslie Winkle from the Big Bang Theory :)
Your camera focus is killing meeee!
My first phone.
I love the idea of big-screened phones, but this was my first real smartphone and I didn't want a lot of risk. Worst-case scenario if I have to bail out of my plan, I pay Virgin Mobile 205 dollars.
That's much better than most of the other 500 - 700 devices out there... Also the expandable memory, up to 32 GB! I was not expecting that much.
i'm getting this phone until my contract expires for my htc g2 in november. Hopefully it'll be decent.
What does a 5.8 earthquake in DC have to do with data speeds in Texas? Its only 5.8, we get those like every week here in California. lol
@Mrcrazycoasterfan Worth checking xda to see if there is a custom ROM for it.
i have still have a RAZR and this phone would be perfect!
lg optimus chic or htc wildfire s
PLZZZ I AM BUYING TOMORROW!!!
It's 2018 and I think I will buy this as my first smartphone. :) Yes?
@fizafire same here stuck because on black friday they have both those phones for sale
I love that phone
i wish my original droid incredible could have the new htc sense
Wifi calling does use your minutes, just makes your service flawless.
@Whitter2012 i know it isn't something that everyone wants to do, but if you root the phone it's pretty kickass. My friend rooted his and it's pretty much equal to a rooted htc evo.
@jerelconstantino Some east coast power plants and data centers went down, slowing routing on the Interwebs. DC isn't as well equipped to handle quakes :)
Nice review.
@nickdog670 ohhh , okay . thanks so much . that helped .
@pabloenis
I will admit, this phone's music player capabilities are meager at best. I was told the best Android music apps on the net right now are Power Amp and Player Pro, and.... really wasn't impressed. The volume-rocker on my headset doesn't work, the lock-screen control widgets are buggy, and when you play with the equalizers the songs will randomly skip or get bursts of static.
Oh, and no play-counts.
Think im going for the galaxy S8, haha. I'll take this in consideration :)
Wildfire was better right?
well basically what he/she means is that sometimes when you want to download, update, or download widgets or apps it tells you low on storage space i have the same problem i have a large memory card a 4gb and i think thats more then enough for downloads but it seems the phone only wants to download straight to the internal memory which isn't enough to handle it and just seems to not allow you to download things unless you delete an app or two which is very inconvenient.
Not to be pedantic, the CPU is fast enough for Flash (the Galaxy Ace has this CPU at 800MHz) it's just not the right CPU architecture for it.
The Wildfire S is potent enough, it's got the same Adreno 200 GPU from the Nexus One/HTC Desire which whilst isn't the most modern now it still gives some decent gaming grunt.
I will buy this! this telephone is cool! PS Galaxy Gio is better than this ?
thats texas weather. 100 degrees is normal during summer months. anything below its like a cold front
@mrblackopskiller1 of course you can as htc wildfire s has android market!!!! awesome i want to buy it
@TheShotsboy123 wildfire s? its the new improved model
i think it does go to google play go to seach type video chat it will say t-mobile quik video chat
HTC sensation xe :P :)
I'm getting this phone for m birthday in White. Because its in white I decided I'm getting a white charger/Sync cable and White headphones. Cause then I have it fully white :)
hurr hurr second... but really she helped me pick my mytouch 4G ^_^ thanks!
@pana9as The samsung should be faster but in all fairness I've tried both friends(from friends who own them) and the Wildfire s was surprisingly alot smoother than than the Ace, I think its mainly your personal preference but I'm looking for a new phone soon and I will be choosing the Wildfire, hope that helped you :)
my sis as thi phon its actually a good phonr but lie all touch screens it hs a couple of flaws but i would recommend this phone.
Really good video thank you :)
Look at the weather
This or the Samsung Galaxy Ace because they're both the same price.
@MobileTechReview No they go have gorilla glass. All Wildfire S have the gorilla glass on the screen. :D
@0097111Don't believe the US version has it.
@MelloShon Move them to your SD Card
@sami3219 me too ^^^^ effin excited :D
I own this phone, using it to post this comment. Using apps or playing music in the background doesn't slow down preformance, as I have seen.
@pabloenis Dude ever listened to music with HTC SRS enhancement? This is a budget phone so there's no point in comparing it to an iphone ;) But the phones from htc that are in the same price category as the iphone have equal if not better (with srs) music quality.
And the android music players are just fine (using PlayerPro) and offer alot of options.
Mine is frozen help man
My old phone HTC
IF only this phone had the forward-facing camera like the motorola triumph does.... I have Virgin Mobile, sooo my options to "upgrade" (from a LG optimus V) arent too much.
Wanna know what would suck getting the phone and findin out theres no calling or text only through wifi Lol
@JerkTubeTV no I have it and it works.perfectly :P
100 degrees!
I like those big bulky cell phones :) I have virgin mobile and i was wondering what you recommended, no slider, i don't like those cell phones.. :P I LOVE that phone you compared it to, what is it called? PLZ reply :DD thnx
