- I got a lathe so I tore this saw back down to do machine work and redo the porting. Turned out very strong, pried hard a couple times and it kept cutting down to 8k rpm before the chain stalled. Very happy. This recipe is a keeper.
I like the brother! Great job!👍 Bring it to PA!
Thanks Dan. Will do👍🏻
When is this is?

@@padan3729 dammit me! Long way from Louisiana. Wish we had saw people here!
@@cajun3197 lots of saw folks on Opeforum.com. Dan and I are members there, lots of good folks and lots of knowledge shared.
I like that instant throttle response! That’s one of the things I try to shoot for always. Lazy saws are aggravating to me when you’re felling a tree for instance. Maybe some guys like a lot of intake duration and they can get more overall power sure but I’d gladly sacrifice a little bit of power for something that won’t bog in a cut when I’m trying to get a hinge just right. Great runner there!
That’s exactly how I feel man. I want broad, useable power with good torque that will pull the chain from a dead stop while setting a hinge. Felling teaches a lot about what useful power is in a saw
@@xpslinger8171 I bet our timing numbers we like are similar
@@xpslinger8171 one of your first saws you did a 357 screamed really nice while still quick revving. I liked the way that one ran.
@@cajun3197 I bet they are.
I been reading along with as and ope for a few years now. Took me a while to join because of all the drama. I can’t stand that shit.
Feck yeah, ready to build my 2165 like that?
Whenever you’re ready swing by for a beer and bring it with ya🍻
@@xpslinger8171 I wasnt too far from ya. About 2 weeks ago I was cutting in Constantia on Drought Rd... The 2165 is a basket case, i have a good used crank and a 372 top end for it.
@@Woodman_Custom_Sawing I can do whatever work you need done. Rebuild from ground up plus mods or just do the mods after you got her all squared away.
I like dat me!
