Do you mean all the notes in the second violin part, 1st mov? If so, 8 have heard recordings play these longer, but i can see in this score that vivaldi marks these are staccato so presumably he intended them to be short. They are marked staccato in the first few bars, convention is that you continue this for all the following bars.
Not in any wide-ranging study, no. Not to my knowledge. Some time ago, in the 2000s if memory serves, he made all his data on paper-types and rastrology available in an online database. This approach, while it has failed to yield the results we hoped for, may still be of use at some point, but probably in conjuction with other methods.
As someone else said, I find this interpretation quite disappointing and not worthy of the piece that it is. The first movement is litteraly one of the most unique Vivaldi composition and they botched the best parts and only brought attention to the most typically Vivaldian but therefore a little more boring parts. The slow notes (don't know their English name) should have been held, not played so lightly, and during that part you don't even hear the other voices, yet there are so many uniques, unusual and powerful intervals here, a true testament to Vivaldi's talent. Too bad it was ruined because the rest of the piece is fine enough. I'd advise anyone to go and look for another interpretation because this concerto is wonderfully unique and impressive.
Agreed, I found an interpretation where the note are held and clear, and you can truely hear the genius behind this composition. This interpretation litteraly underplays everything that's so unique about this piece and only makes the more typical Vivaldi phrases come out, which is a horrible idea in my opinion. Really not a good interpretation of an otherwise wonderful and unique piece.
If you mean the high G in the first violins before the descending scale, I can hear them okay all the way through the tie. Unless you mean somewhere else?
Andante: La verità in cimento, RV 739: Amato ben tu sei la mia speranza. Rosane, aria
Barroco, I love its music. 💖 .... easier to listen to and extraordinarily beautiful
vivaldi is the best... all other composers are inferior... this is just amazing!!
un grand merci pour cette nouvelle vidéo et les commentaires qui vont avec !
Thank your very much for another quality upload and all the relevant comprehensive information you provided. Your channel is a treasure trove! :D
Solista por excelência; o grupo restante complementa e faz o fundo harmônico

Sublime!

Ooooooh nice
Del Vivaldi: you mention Paul Everett. Do you know if he has published his chronology of Vivaldi's works? If so, where?
Thanks!

1st = RV 705 Act I, Scene 5: Vaga sei nè sdegni tuoi
That is a reconstructed aria, not by Vivaldi though.

What is the best recording in your opinion?
i dont like this version. the violin does not hold the highest note through 0:10 so it cuts too short and there is no emotion.
You’re referring to the descending 5ths sequences? Perhaps a bit rushed yes.
Many of these baroque orchestras do a lot of this shortening the phrasing. It cheapens the piece a little I would agree
The G on E string right?
