    People don’t realize how tough it is to drive and record simultaneously. Nice 👍

      Ya, driving and filming activates all regions of the brain. 😂 I really wanted to see if the truck and new tires could do that long steep line. But the rollovers had consequences, so I had to park the camera and do some spotting.

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the Rock Beast. 🙏 That spot was a new discovery and I can’t wait to go there again. Gonna have to wait until spring though. ⛄️

      Thanks. I love the Sendero HD. I keep waffling about getting a spare body. That one is getting some good patina!

    You have some of that white stuff on the ground. Looks frozen solid too. Such great terrain to play on great video.

      We got our first snow early in October but most of it didn’t stick. The location in the video is in the foothills just at the base of the Rockies, so the snow was lingering there. And yes, it was a chilly day. We actually had a spectacular fall, but that’s done now-we got 3 inches of new snow last night.

    Great video, I just got the black sendero HD today, found a used one that hasn’t been outside and has a fusion motor . My first element R/C . I like my portal rigs but not everything needs to have portals. Looking forward to the first outing with it 👍

      Lucky! I love my Sendero HD. For me it was an instant buy when it was released. I have been waffling about getting a second one or just getting a replacement body (mine is getting beat up). You are right about portals versus straight axles. One is not better than the other. You just have to adjust your driving style with straight axles to avoid getting hung up (tire placement is more critical). I just got a Phoenix straight axles to complement my phoenix portal. Do you have any good trailing or crawling spots around town? I’m in the NW and tend to be crawling around the river a lot. But I’m always looking for new places.

      @ yeah finding new spots is tough, I’m in the southwest so spend alot of time in Fish creek park , mainly Shannon Terrace and Votiers flats . I haven’t tried Bragg Creek yet . Have you been to Sheep river falls in Kanaskis ? It’s worth the drive 👍

    Also, do you have a vid on where you mounted the Reefs sway bar? I have one coming for my Axial CJ7.

    • @rcstories_ca

      I don’t have a video of the Reefs sway bar install on the Enduro chassis. I am working on one and I have pictures I could forward. Basically, the spring rod goes through the lower screw holes of the rear battery tray cross brace. The sway bar arms go back towards the rear shocks and the sway bar push rods are mounted outboard of the rear axle lower link mounts. Long screws and aluminum spacers will be your friends.
      On SCX10III straight axles (I have an early Bronco to look at but I think it’s the same on the CJ7) the sway bar will likely face backwards. I would try to manufacture mount blocks for the spring under the rear bumper mount (there are four holes that face down, and you might get inspiration from looking at how the Element Ecto GKS sway bar spring is mounted). The sway bar arms would then go forward toward the shocks and push rods would hang down and be attached outboard of the lower shock mounts. The push rods will likely have to be outboard of the sway bar arms. My rough measurement say the Reefs should fit that way.
      The Element GKS sway bar is quite good too, but is too narrow for the push rods to mount outboard of the SCX10III shocks. I used a GKS sway bar with custom push rods on my Element Bushido build.
      The Reefs torsion spring is quite stiff (they only supply one spring) which might be okay on the CJ7. If you find the spring is too stiff you can hand file it down to be thinner in the centre. Don’t use a grinder/Dremel as heat will destroy the spring temper. On my Sendero I thinned the centre 75% of my spring from 2.3mm down to 1.7mm. It still provides support but does not inhibit flex like it used too.
      My SCX10III Bronco does torque twist, but it got better when I installed shorter springs.

      Here is a zip file with photos of the Sendero HD Reefs Sway Bar installation. I can’t guarantee that it will stay available forever.

      @@rcstories_ca Dude, thank you so much for the photos! I have a CJ7 that id like to install this sway bar on and my sendero HD should be here thursday! thanks for all the tips.

      @@Nuclearwinter100 You are welcome. Good luck with the mods. Sendero HD is one of my favourite trucks. The CJ7 looks sweet, but is too similar underneath to the Bronco to justify purchasing (so far).

      @@rcstories_ca Yeah, I walked into the LHS and liekd the look of the CJ7 for a starter RC. after getting the mods done and the weight down I tried a capra but im thinking i like the actual truck rock crawling better. BTW, the FOC on the HW is a game changer. Id like to try and keep this truck stock but I might have to uninstall the 2400kv from the capra... :) thank you.

    HI! Thanks for the video! Please, i need to know where do you find the front bumper metal hole for winch wire! I can't found it :(
    And rear bumper one? Wich part is please? I like it too!
    Thanks in advance! Very nice crawler.

      Sorry for the late reply. The aluminum fairlead #42127 by Associated/Factory Team seems to have been discontinued. Other colours may still be available. You might try a local hobby shop to see if they have any left in stock. Unfortunately Element uses a much wider fairlead than most other manufacturers, leaving us with few aftermarket alternatives (Traxxas and Axial fairleads are too narrow).
      The rear bumper is a Vanquish VS4-10 VPS10122 front tube bumper installed in the rear (the Vanquish bumper slips right in the Element Rear Bumper Mount #42001 which I think is already installed on the truck). I added the rear bumper so I have a rigid chassis part to grab back there (the rear cage/bed is very flexy). I think it looks good and doesn’t interfere with ground clearance (in fact it is less likely to hang up than the tube cage).
      I love this truck. It’s my favourite out of all my trucks and I keep debating wether to get a second one (Titanium this time).

    Hey, when applying the white decal did you keep it in one piece or did you cut it into 3 different ones?

    • @rcstories_ca
      @rcstories_ca  Месяц назад

      The white decals came pre-installed on mine. It’s one piece, but could be applied as three pieces if that is easier. I use the water method for large decals. See this Element video for more tips:

    Super fun video, what interior did you use for your truck? Is this by the old Shell station in Bragg Creek?

    • @rcstories_ca
      @rcstories_ca  Год назад

      A little further downstream and around the corner. It’s by the bridge heading towards West Bragg Creek. maps.app.goo.gl/jJ7Y5JEkDYHHDVzUA?g_st=ic

      The interior is the Axial SCX10 III Jeep JLU interior. I just cut off the back seat and attached it with Velcro. Fits pretty good.
