    Nice Phillips 66 finds. What a cache of cans! My back aches watching you guys maneuver that first 66 sign with the frame and pole casting onto the trailer. I remember way back about 1974 finding a very nice, black/orange, double sided, Phillips 66, "lollypop" sign in a junk yard west of Ladysmith, WI. When I asked the price the yard owner said, "four bits!" That wasn't fifty bucks, but fifty cents. Yeah, I bought it.

      Thanks for watching and sharing your incredible story!!! I like the earlier orange and black logo! Rob

    Great haul! You getting close to a couple of those salvage yards I think I mention them to you about the old cars. Of course you probably have you itinerary already. Depending on how much farther down the road you are and the time it took to process and put this video out. You have to go through Pontiac Illinois. You can spend a day there easily with the murals and other items. There's a nice old collection there as well. And on the way there I don't think it's on route 66 but there's a classic auto sales in Illinois.

      Thanks for sharing the information about Pontiac Illinois. I have spent so much time in other areas that I will not be able to make it that far East. Sounds like a place to visit on another trip! This has been a fantastic trip. My next video is on abandoned old cars and trucks laying around on properties . I even enter a abandoned house or two. It’s amazing how much of this I see out in the Kansas areas. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Rob

    Thank you for taking us along for the ride, Rob. It's like a hunting and fishing trip but better because you're preserving and building a link to the past.
    Those Phillips signs were big gold nuggets!

      Thanks Jimmy, I agree it is like a hunting or fishing trip for treasures! It is a interesting way to spend a vacation. You are correct that each piece will be saved because whatever I do not keep someone else will must likely want to decorate with or collect. More adventure videos coming soon. The next one is already in the works and it covers abandoned vehicles found laying on properties. I have some pretty good footage to share. Thanks, Rob

    Another great video, but the question is how much did you have to pay for that big 6 foot 66 sign? I came across a big 6-ft Texaco sign and bought it from a guy for only 50 bucks!

    • @gaspumprob
      @gaspumprob  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching and commenting on my video. I probably overpaid for it then since you paid $50.00 for a six foot Texaco sign! 😆😆😆
