Great question! To be fair, most of the songs on my channel were written for my show, Hot Mess in Manhattan, about my life. With other material though, I break down each phrase: free write on it, day dream it, that way you really internalize it and it becomes like you wrote it; your own truth. Do that work, but then when you perform it let it go. If you feel like you're 'doing nothing', and the audience gets everything. Hope I was of help! xo
