dude for juggling a business school and keeping your fans happy you really make it look easy and we really appreciate the longer videos as well as the shorter skit vids
Really appreciate how you made learning about fixing, blending and buffing paint fun to watch. Along with doing the mods, thanks for the vids, Really enjoy what you put out. It inspires me to do projects and complete them. Have a good one!
These cars have a dyno plug on the driver side under the hood it’s a little plug with a wire looped on the end right behind the intake and if you unplug it it does the same thing without taking the fuse out and freaking the ecu out. They made it to not freak out the abs and wheel speed sensors👍🏻
This is the only channel I could actually sit and watch a almost hour long video with out skiping through or clicking off. I remember watching the video of you straight piping that red single cab on flakes and never thought I would be seeing you at almost 400k subs. This might be the first channel I by merch from lol. Ive told all my buddies about your channel and now we all watch your stuff. I hope this year you reach a million tom you are the only one who truly deserves it.
Tom thank you so much, theres obviously 10000 videos on blending paint but it wasn’t from you, thank you for sharing your knowledge. You are the best car RUclipsr out there.
As a body man I have a little tip when sanding on slight curves. Bend your small skinny block to the shape of the panel then add the sand paper. It helps shaping a ton !
Another great video. I love how you dont only do the bodywork and fix the car but you take the time to explain to your viewers the process behind the labor. Makes it feel educational as well as entertaining. Keep em coming!!
I did autobody and paint for over 20yrs. I see a lot of clueless idiots on RUclips, trying to teach people how to do it. I'm honestly impressed, assuming you haven't worked as a professional autobody tech or painter, you did pretty good. Especially since you know you aren't necessarily doing it 100% correct, but just working with what you got, and trying to make it look decent. Pro tip... you can get clear blender in rattle can. Spray a quick light coat over the transition and it will help the new clear burn into the old clear. When done just right you wouldn't even need to buff, but realistically it will at least make it easier. 2nd Pro tip. Use 3M Perfect It 3 compound, and polish, with a waffle foam pad. Cost more, but way worth it.
Im so happy you called out the trolls that talk shit about power shifting. You explained perfectly about doing it with a stock trans. Its never good, but super fun to do. Just expect to visit the junkyard quite often.
Absolutely live your content Tom. It has honestly helped me recently because I am on a long road of recovery from a accident on my motorcycle. There is something about seeing a guy following his passion that helps me stay positive
After 2 years of watching u TOM I can say it’s all been fun this whole time but the world paying off frfr s550 that wild too see you with u deserve it tom
as a body mechanic, he is doing it mostly correct, obviously the spray can isnt the "correct" way but everything else is great. Nice job Tom! Love seeing ya get shii done.
He should have cleaned out the old filler too, being porous the metal underneath will be rusty and the repair will ultimately rust jack out after a year or 2.
Love what you do with every car! Yes power shifting with the foot to the floor and using the clutch and hoping it holds up. Honestly one of the best quick fix your black cleared paint tutorials i have seen. About to try it on my buick lacrosse in weathered areas. Hollers!!!
This is bad ass! i love the humor, attention to detail, and taking the time to do things (mostly) right! You just brought this car from a 6/10 to a freaking 11!
So on the right side where the airfilter is there is a little connection that you disconnect the car will have full traction off and if you don’t want to do that press and hold the traction button till something pops up on your dash advance track off
If you get used to you car enough you can. Listen to the rpm and or set your tac with a shift light the Trans will let you shift with out the cluch . I've seen it I didn't believe it either and there's truckers that can bounce around 18 speeds up and down without there clutch also . I don't want to come off wrong I dig the stuff you post just trying to help u learn like I did
Upol Blend #9 fade out reducer on the edges of the clear coat next time will help it burn into the existing clear. Doing the Same thing now on a bunch of rust on my old xB including the front of the hood. Great video as always my man 👌🏾
I know its not super feasible for everyone but if u wet the floor of the shop it really reduces the amount of dust that transfers to the car during pain process.
Man I loved my S550. Had the 10 speed and it made 140 feel like 65. The active exhaust paired with a Corsa X pipe and a resonator delete sounded scary in a tunnel.
Suspension bushings are supposed to be preloaded when tightening. Meaning you need full weight of the car on them. Will effect life of the bushing and can effect handling if the bushings bind.
Quick tip for people at home : When screwing back a screw into plastic or wood always turn the opposite direction first to avoid the screw boring out more material and stripping the hole It will allow the screw to slot in the previous grooves and you can feel it click in a little when you find the correct spot
When screwing a screw back into any material, including steel and aluminum, turning it back a quarter turn aligns it with the threads. Long explanation for a common known trick
There's a, I think 4 pin, connector near the airbox that should turn off abs n traction control. Or press n hold the traction control button for about 10 seconds n that should turn off traction control completely.
The only thing that you should have done was get a can of upol blend 9 lighty to melt in your blends. I used spray paint as well and used the blender. Works great. Otherwise, you did a fantastic job!
Ive always secretly liked the mustang. From 2004 on. Are simply impressive with just bolt ons. A buddy had a 2013 5.0 convertable. Thats would hold the corners and turns like i just couldnt believe. And with the manual trans you totally could control it. I wish i had the money to get one. But alas itll just have to stay a secret.
Not sure if its been said or not! But you can get professional quality paint in spray cans! Some body shop supply stores offer aerosol can fills, i usually buy spray max 2k or napa brand as they use ppg for alot of their cans. They are a two part catalyst hardened spray paint (primer/base/clear). They hold up long term like factory paint sandable and able to be corrected like a factory paint! If you have to spray paint this route is the way to go! 1k traditional spray paints are too soft and never hold up long term!
all you gotta do to turn traction control off is flip the switch once and it will say traction control off and then hold it for a couple seconds and it will turn advance trac and everything else off

Tom you should make this S550 the modern version of Noise Complaint! Like how Roadkill has General Maintenance!
Yesss now that’s an epic idea

That's what i was thinking but he also just spent over a week on the paint. Mabye if he could get a wrap to make it look like noise complaint.
@leviscurlock3986 That's exactly how they did General Maintenance if I recall, who wants to rust a nice new muscle car?!
This doesn’t feel right… seeing him with a newer car😂😂😂
Yeah... It feels weird XD
Was confused if I should have clicked the video at first or not 😭

The car lineup is like my dream lineup, keep grindin nd doin ya thing folk 💯🏆
Try wetting you’re floor when painting helps catch all dust and debris from sanding and prepping also catches overspray just a future tip
Another great show. Great content. Like your work on the Stang. You are right, that car will kill you. Keep having fun. Thanks for your team's effort.
To blend it. I take paper fold it in half. Don't make a crease in it so it doesn't lay flat. It'll blend very well
toms channel is quickly becoming the best automotive content on the internet

Destructive, yet elegantly informative, thanks Tom for teaching the youngins!
Also you can go to some oreillys they’re paint shops and can put paint in a can for you. And upol now offers 2k clear which we carry

I absolutely love these educational type vids mixed with the usual Tom shenanigans!!
I really enjoy the crackhead energy mixed with the fun, yet serious and genuine knowledge and educational parts of your videos.
There’s a blending agent that you spray in the clear and it burns the 2 clears together
Thank's papa Tom. For the lesson. My dad been at the store for like ten years getting smokes....😢
