    THANK YOU for sharing this story. I am honored to be a Lovejoy and share his blood. I am inspired to be a leader of social justice as he might live but a few drops inside me.

      Wow! Me too. My Dad is a Lovejoy and looks a lot like Elijah. I'm the UK branch that didn't move to America.

    Thank you for sharing. Moved to Alton 6 months ago learning about Elijah P. Lovejoy. Wondered why I never heard about him growing up in St. Louis. What an amazing man of godly character. He was so young with children when he passed away. Alton is a special town

    Appreciate the spotlight on Alton and Lovejoy, but the information is factually incorrect. Neither press was destroyed at the post office or his home. He was killed at the warehouse where the press was stored. Additionally, it's pronounced "Allton"
