- Buttons not working on your Humax YouView Remote Control? - Here, I take one apart and easily fix it.
My Humax is the DTR-T2000, but I'm sure this remote is used with other devices.
Some buttons become less responsive. With mine, it was the 'Rewind' and 'Fast Forward' buttons.
These Humax remotes are quite poor & I'm on my second one within a year. Now that the warranty has expired I thought I'd try this fix & it worked! The hardest bit is separating the casing. Be prepared to do a little damage because the case will not separate until you've pushed a thin object firmly into place. It's only then that you can start to lever the two sections apart. I had no Isopropyl & made do with some window cleaner....great video!
Thanks Brett £29 saved! Works like a dream.
Glad it worked!
It worked (after 3 tries)so thanks for that, but my mistake was putting the central black button back in upside down. Easy to do, there is a small slot in it but it fits even if you get it wrong. Worth noting. If you get it wrong the buttons work but not in the right order.😆
Thanks for the video. I had exact same problem, same three buttons didn't work properly. Followed your video, but used window/glass cleaner on cotton buds, it worked, cleared PCB of rubber residue. Remote good as new!
Brett, thanks for this - saved me £20+ (perhaps much more in future). Excellent concise to the point instructions. Thumbs up.
Brett, excellent instructions thank you. Worked a treat. Note to others; the casing at the battery end can be "reluctant" to separate. To avoid the risk of breaking the cover, I held the front and back close together and prised the case open with a big screwdriver.
Thank you. You are rendering inestimable service to your fellow man.
Thanks to your video we’re finally able to access the Media, Guide and Exit buttons, which were otherwise very temperamental. Cheers
Great - glad you got something from the video!
Worked an absolute treat. Well done! Saved me £15.
Cool! - I have had to redo mine again recently, but I still get a good result
Brilliant, worked first time, thankyou.
This worked for me too. I had infuriating problems with the 'pause' and unpause actions. I had some alcohol from a tape head cleaner outfit. I couldn't get the parts completely apart but prised them open enough to wiggle a cotton bud over the printed circuit and hey presto! I'm like a cat with two tails now.
Thank you, Brett, worked as described!! saved me £26 on a new remote!!
Great stuff, worked for me! Thanks.
This worked for me. It took me three attempts to get the remote back together but now the pause and fast forward buttons work. You do have to have patience when prising the remote apart and a little damage to the plastic casing is inevitable.
really good fix - got mine going in a few minutes - thanks heaps
None of the buttons on my remote were working, but cleaning the whole PCB like this seemed to help. I only had white vinegar solution in the house though. (Wrecked the side and bottom joints getting the case apart. But the only alternative was to buy a new one.)
Thank-you Brett. FF and step forward buttons weren't working. New white controller hard to come by and £25 plus. Order the isopropyl alcohol of ebay for £2.49. I knew theory was good, but had my doubts it would work for me, with run of bad luck, broken mower and printer also plaguing me, so really please to report back that it did the job. :-)
Worked an absolute treat. Cheers.
Great to hear!
Its working!!! Thanks very useful
Very useful, thank you. Remote now fixed.
Glad it helped
Thank you! Just think how much money you have saved people making this video :-)
When i put it back together it didnt work. If I left it prised open a bit it worked. Tried it a few times and cant get it to work. What have i done wrong?
