How to replace a broken LCD screen on a Lenovo ThinkCenter M73z All-In-One computer.
Machine Type 10BC
Shows all the steps required to unscrew and remove the back panel, access the RAM, hard disk and wifi card area, remove the speakers and then finally remove the front panel / bezel to get to the LCD panel within the computer.
This computer uses a M200FGE-L20 Rev. C1 screen also known as Lenovo / IBM FRU part number 03T6480 and costs about £110 new (+vat).

Hey, sorry, as this might be a bit unrelated to the LCD panel side of things. On the board, the power input to the board is a 14 pin thing. Do you know the pinout of the 14 pin? Thanks.

Is that a touch screen? Also, since you have the back open, you could apply fresh thermal paste

Thank you for the comment, I try to put as much as possible in my videos but didn't think that the screws were that important.. I can see that maybe it is a good idea if someone has taken it to bits and forgotten which ones go where. What is the resolution on that screen? Is it a touch type? Can you replace it with a higher resolution one? Thank you 🤓 I got a hold of a Lenovo Think Centre M72z and the screen sort of works but has a typical "burned out" area. Still has Win 8

Oh my god, I've been looking forever for my exact model! Would I be able to upgrade the Ram with your guide? Do you know where I can find upgraded ram? It has 4 GB, and I need at least 8 GB.

It looks like it has a socketed CPU so maybe. I've no idea what CPUs would be compatible though.

Yes they can be upgraded. The socket type for M73z is LGA1150. Im waiting to upgrade to a 4790.

If you shine a flash light at the screen when it should be displaying something can you see it ? The backlight in the screen may have failed.

The black lead you can see at 22:09 on the right.. it isn't long enough to plug in without the screen getting in the way of the camera.

I Can't find the same model secren do you know other replacement or model that work with this.
Searching the Lenovo Parts Store comes up with the screen still. 03T6480 - Doesn't show me a price because Lenovo no longer sell to the UK directly. (GRR!)

Sorry, I do not know. At the time I did the repair Lenovo has a parts lookup system for each computer model. I used their website.

Do not know, sorry. There isn't an additional bit of glass or plastic before the panel itself so .. the dirt must somehow have got inside the panel or it is a bug that has crawled up inside. between the LCD and the defuser. You won't be able to repair that easily.

Hi! I know this video is quite old, but I have a M83Z model that looks identical to the inside of the M73z. will it be a similar process?
Not sure but chances are enough of it will be similar. Just be careful when lifting stuff, check for extra cables that might need to be unplugged etc. Also don't blame me if you break your computer more!
