It takes that long to get to the freaking heart of videos ...i swear...
thank you for not really swearing:)
you guys helped me a lot. Thank you appreciate it.
I am replacing a Square D pressure switch with another SD pressure switch, they look the same but the wiring if different. So, sometimes it's best to do both, take a picture and read the wiring diagram!
That 3 phase system has no neutral. The two phase wires connected to the coil are both "hot" wires. And it is important for the coil to be the proper voltage. A coil with a neutral involved will be a 120V coil. This system will have a 240 208 or 480 volt coil depending on the voltage of the system.
John this episode is about pressure switches. we do have an episode on magnetic starters. The coil in a starter does need the correct voltage . but this is about the switch.
John is 100% correct. In your diagram your pulling a neutral off L1 of a 3 phase circuit which is not correct.
You know ... I thought I was crazy for a second ... him calling that a neutral. That's why I came into the comment section to see if I was missing something.... I have learned nothing from this video except to get further confused. I have a 3 ph system with a starter and needed to learn...not here.
Coil? This is a pressure switch with contactor points
Do you know where I could get a wiring diagram for a Saylor Beall model 9000 ? I got this compressor from a surplus company and whoever disconnected the starter really did a butcher job on the box. There is a small transformer I believe was connected to the pressure switch. No sure how it is supposed to be connected. Please help !
Awesome video! I’m trying to wire a Ingersoll Rand t30 3 phase in my home garage using a VFD I have it running but can’t work out how to include the pressure switch. Do you guys have any experience with that or any suggestions would be great 👍
Erick sure does. you can contact me through thecompressorguru.com
Erick will not be in until next Wednesday.
I have a Saylor Beall model 9000 with a 15 hp motor. There is a small transformer in the starter box I assume was connected to the pressure switch making that circuit low voltage. Do you know where I can get a wiring diagram for this unit ?
I will get Erick to respond to this but he is out of state at a funeral. it may help if you email me through thecompresorguru.com either by email or through the phone number on the website. It is possible that this may not be a factory set up it may have been done to make the machine work for a certain voltage . in any event my engineer is away till at least Friday
Should air pressure switch be wired through contactor?
yes or no that depend on where you want to run conduit or wire. the Pressure switch DOES control the contactor. any questions fell free to contact me through thecompressorguru.com
Thank you
I have a Davilbiss 230v 3hp trailboss DAC503 AIR COMPRESSER HOW CAN I INSTALL SQUARE D PRESSURE SWITCH ON IT
not familiar with the machine you have. it is important to make sure the new switch has the same electrical and pressure rating as the old switch. perhaps I can help more contact me through thecompressorguru.com
That looks like a single phase switch
I do have 3 phase switches available . I have never sold 1.
you took a very simple job and made it as complicated and muddled as possible this should have been a 5 min video but your in love with your own voices what a waste of time.
thank you for your input.
What I learned is move the video half way because the rest is trash
thank you for your polite comment.
