I watched Raul Esparza the whole time she was singing. I am totally in love with this man. his emotions are so beautifully translated in his body and his work.
I think what makes him special as a performer is that he actually LISTENS to the other actors in the moment and has honest emotional responses. Very genuine and unrehearsed looking in his performances. It’s what makes him a star.
IIt just inspired me to do my music theatrical@...Thanx Sutton..I just really understand your interpretation! Your Facial language!!! This really worked out...Like my solo at my voice class wit this song!!! With my Professor and all audience - other students! I got a High Score at LAVC ( Los Angeles Valley College - At Music Build during the morning at clsses!!!! ,,You're as natural,simple..and that is not so hard, actually is SIMPLE!! You take it seriously..and professional! I think its important. Roberta Meira.
Then you should know that a clip early in the rehearsal process of an ENCORE ! production (and you know what those are, right ?) will show an energy level & intensity different than final performance level of same.
Sutton's amazing, all right, but what was with Raul Esparza tapping his finger while he was listening? It's a small detail, but a distracting one--that one tapping finger signaled boredom, which is pretty deadly when flipping Sutton Foster is singing to you!
@andyetandyetandyet Usually the mark of the amateur--she may be 'pro', or they may be 'pro', I don't know, but--they got the relative volumes preposterous, . . . way, way wrong, . . . so common, . . .
It was fantastic, but I just don't think she (Sutton) hit the mark of desperation necessary for this song. It was just too sweet. Just my opinion. You may now proceed to rip me up one side and down the other.....

Me too! Didn't even glance a t her:-) He looks so emotional here!
I did the same, but then I figured I was being ungrateful for this amazing singer : she has great talent too. So I watched it again.

Sutton, that was so beautiful. I can't believe how much emotion conveyed in that song.
everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but you cant deny that Sutton Foster is VERY good at what she does.
"a work in progress"... i love her humility! Both Donna and Sutton were very modest. I would like to work with people like that someday.
Donna Murphy = Queen!
sigh...
Donna is just so PERFECT.
This is how a singer acts and an actress sings. Beautiful, touching, intimate.
Her back phrasing is utterly gorgeous.
"Suddenly were on a safari." Sutton is the coolest person alive!
Oh... Sutton Foster and Raul Esoarza. Two of my favorite people. Why do
How did I not know my favorite actors were in a show together?!?!?!
I like Sutton. I hadn't seen her playing a vulnerable moment like that before.
Thanks, Sutton. You have a very natural quality to your singing. Keep it up! It is such a lovely song, too. :)
Can't wait until she reprises the role of Mia Wallace in the stage version of "Pulp Fiction."
THEE donna murphy
Donna is so flipping cute! Gosh.
This was so awesome... I'm really happy I saw it.
Omg Liza Miller and Rafael Barba together😱I think I found my new favorite ship😍❤😂
OMG too many amazing people on one screen! D:
Raul est tellement ému c'est particulièrement touchant

Donna worked it!
I love the first song and sutton is amazing OMG
I love her!
Does 'the people are starving' make anyone else laugh? It''s the music! It's so jazzy and jaunty and she's saying something so serious!
I seriously LOVE her personality!
real natural
Is there a link for Raul and Sutton singing With so Little to be Sure Of?
Sutton is amazingly talented - I lover her voice but no one comes close to the power and emotion of Lee Remick's Broadway recording of this song.
Then you should know that a clip early in the rehearsal process of an ENCORE ! production (and you know what those are, right ?) will show an energy level & intensity different than final performance level of same.
We have no right to judge. Once you've won 2 Tonys and performed in 7 Broadway shows, then you can talk.
I wish she was on-mic.
don't understand much about the rehearsal process, do you ? And yes, where HAVE you been the past year or two ?
Sutton's amazing, all right, but what was with Raul Esparza tapping his finger while he was listening? It's a small detail, but a distracting one--that one tapping finger signaled boredom, which is pretty deadly when flipping Sutton Foster is singing to you!
Sara Potter it's his tell he does that when he starts to get emotional.. I've noticed it in alot of his other works as well..
kristi johnson Ooh, thanks for pointing that out.
*I live so far away from Broadway?
I... I never learned to whistle

0:20 (for me)
that piano is unforgivably out of tune
and too loud...but that's the fault of mic placement for the recording.
the dude looks like Balki..
Sutton= 1 note song. Every character the same.
Jesus loves you all:)

+James Netusil I was rivited.
That's why it's being rehearsed. To fix things up.
she should stick to millie..? hahahahaha where have you BEEN!?
How is she overrated?
