This is one of the best channels on youtube.. instead of filling his video with sponsored advertising he uses the time to encourage people to clean up nature. If even a few people take the advice it will improve nature for everyone. Thumbs up, thumbs way up.

I would have loved to take your course but it was out of my price range for the time being, I've been following you a few years and I was afraid this channel might fade away. Thanks Adam...great video....my wife and I are heading out to hunt right now...love the description of smell(dirty socks) been finding lots of black trumpets, cinabar and smooth chanterelles...although smooths are getting scarce now ....we also have been seeing quite a few of those (reef) species but have not tried them yet....you inspire us .....since I've starting looking for plants and fungi my speed as a hiker and backpacker has slowed down...too much to see...we live in the southwestern part of VA (new river valley) not too far from Blacksburg so the woods we share are very similar having hiked through PA on the AT a couple years back...take care-be safe....additional question we see a species we identified as a false chanterelle... they are bright orange(more so than the cinnabar) they have the same ridges but have a hollow stem...for the record does that sound like a false

on my hunt this am I (believe) I've found one! Fits description in both color, shape and inviroment however it is not fluted at the ends and I do know morphology can be varied a little in any mushroom but this is my first one and I've done all my learning by myself and of course your vids so takes me a bit longer to have confidence in 100% identification. p.s it was growing very near my chanterelle patch

2020 has been a drought year for sure. I found one little bunch fruiting of crown tipped coral for this species. It must have been sucking water up hard through the tree because it was very clean but still tasted of the tree I picked it from. It surprisingly wasn't disgusting though but added a flavor dimension I have never considered before. It wasn't earthy but woody tasting. Like tasting the forest itself i guess.

Thanks to your channel, I enjoyed my first boletes last year, and chicken of the woods the year before. I love mushrooms with wild garlic, and eat them by the hundreds, and like them with the blossoms still on. I put them in soups, salads, stir-fry, omelets, I even add them to fresh homemade salsa cruda. I have always been a forager, and am glad to have a good source for mushroom ID, as I only knew a couple for certain. I have also taught several homeless and low-income people to identify a number of readily available wild foods.

Adam, you have started me on hunting more different species of mushrooms this year besides the morels and I would like to thank you. I've had the pheasant back and chicken of the woods so far (and now notice the multiple species of this). Yesterday I spotted what I thought to be gray oyster mushrooms, but our woods were soaked and I could not get to them. I brought boots along today and sadly they were "melted today" and one that was slowly melting showed my guess was right.
I also found a mushroom cluster that looked to be oyster mushrooms, and let them grow overnight and harvested them today. From all my research, it looks like they are the Golden Oyster Mushroom (invasive), do you have those in your area as well?
