Correct me if I'm wrong, but although there's no gimball like in the Phantom or so, there's indeed some movement in the camera. Not only i would say I've read it somewhere else, but I think I've experimented it myself. A few days ago I was flying it and some water drop or something got stuck in the protector of the camera. I'm just learning how to fly it so I didn't care at the moment. But when I saw the video later on, when the drone makes some kind of sudden movement (start/stop mostly since I don't have the FPV packet) the drop in the image kind of "responded" as you would expect from an stabilization system. I think it's mechanical as well, not only software but... Thank you for the review!
I like your balance and to the point reviews without the blabbering one finds too often. I've flown Parrot for just over a year - the biggest gripe is the lens vulnerability to scratches otherwise this it is very robust and can take abuse like few others.
I just bought this bundle today for $145US ($200AU). I remember buying the bebop1 and sky controller for $1400AU when it came out and was lucky enough to take it back and use the same money to get a DJI P3.. which still powers along 7 years on.

There is some functionalities that you forgot to mention. If you loose connection with your controller or wifi connected phone it will automaticly do the go home function after a specified amount of time it has been disconnected, The time for that is configurable in the app in settings

Great video but bad product! I had one and video quality was terrible! If you can afford it, DJI Phantom is the way to go, my opinion based on owning both! (Got the Bebop refunded...)
250 at best buy black friday... I bought it just for fun and am going to return it after my DJI phantom 4 pro comes back from landing gear repairs (i wouldnt let my friends kid fly it so she reached up and grabbed the sticks and made it hit a tree....brat...and yes they are paying for the repair..) I've had it for over a year and never crashed it once never even a rough landing.... yes I was furious. First time I've ever yelled at and made a child cry...(shes 7...)
3:45 I've been having issues downloading images and video from the drone to my computer as well. It's a bit glitch, but works eventually. Any advice for PC users?
While waiting for my Mavic to arrive, I'm thinking of buying one of these Bebop 2 package on sale for $500. I like the thought of trying out the FPV goggles...even if they just use a glamorized phone app. Should I just wait for my Mavic to arrive in a few months? I'm more into the flying experience than 4K camera capabilities. BTW... I'm not super happy that the Mavic technically does not allow an iPad mini.
Depends, if you have 500 bucks burning a hole in your pocket, then sure, go for it.. it could be nice practice flying around. If not, I'd patiently wait for the Mavic Pro

I know the iPhone hybrid is not a dedicated FPV goggle like the Fat Shark, but I'm curious to try them. I read that the Mavic will not be compatible with current FPV goggles, so it's worth a few bucks to try them. I'm kinda interested in Drone Racing, too. So, this is kind of a beginner package for that. If not, it's eBay time again!
They could improve the drones follow me system by making use of shadows(when applicable obviously) because it will always contrast with the ground (unless in a shadow) so it could use that to help find or follow a target
Good review. I have the original parrot ar drone and it failed for FPV IMO. It was far to laggy to use, and the signal was sketchy. (thought it used wifi). My next drone lag is one of the biggest sticking points for me. How bad is it? i was considering the Mavic, but i dont want to spend that much. I also looked at some racing drones since my experience is in RC Airplanes vs drones (besides the AR Drone). Thanks
Question: If you script a flight plan and execute... then turn off the controller... will the BB@ continue and finish the flight plan before RTH? If so... you could fly out 3-4 miles and do a quick 360 and RTH on one battery :)

That's a hard question - possibly the Phantom 3 Standard is comparable.. but it all depends on each persons use-case and main purpose(s) for buying the quad..
Your footage is awesome.I decided to buy the parrot bebop 2 because I liked the footage you got.But when I recorded with mine bebop 2 I recorded at 1080p at 30fps at good light conditions and the weather was good (no wind) etc and all the footage I got was pixelated and far away from full hd .Any ideas for what did go wrong??
ditto - this review is well done and very accurate based on my own experience with the bebop 2. One note - moving files to my windows 10 PC works perfectly - VERY good but an SD card would be better.
Ok I am struggling to decide between this Bebop 2 and phantom 3 standard. I really want a fast flying quick reacting drone. But I also want to be able to make some cool videos. I know the the Phantom is hands down better for filming photos etc, but what about flying is there is a big difference. Thanks Jamie
Jamie Grigor I have a bebop 2, my son a phantom 3 standard. In my opinion, the bebop 2 is the better choice, it's easier to fly, better range, I think the standard 3s range is 0.8 miles, the bebop 2 is 1.25 miles. There is not a HUGE difference in picture quality, if you are just going to fly recreationally. I wouldn't trade mine for his for any reason.

DroneSkinz D it's mostly coming from dji fan boys " I have the Phantom 3 pro and phantom 4 just bought a Autel x-star premium and to be honest I fly my bebop2 so much they hardly get any flight time lol the bebop 2 has flaws just like every other drone on the market but it's a blast to play with.

there is one thing I don't like about the skycontroller 2 and it's actually something that should have been addressed is the power button being so close to the take off return home button on the controller I've mistakenly pushed that damn power button a few times and that's not a fun time when the poor bebop 2 has no control lol.

Hello. I recently purchased this drone from my local Best Buy. Came with FPV kit and Skycontroller 2! Great deal. I am having some issues with the sky controller 2 because everytime I plug it in to charge it just flashes green and amber. I’ve heard that this is a defect with the sky controller 2 battery. I am not sure what to do. If there is anyway you could help it would be appreciated. Thank you.
No zoom. But, it’s a great drone. I’ve had mine for about 2 months & haven’t come up with a serious negative yet. However, I should probably add that my friend caught it on Amazon for 50% at Xmas for $150. He took it up once. Had it hover. Then, I bought it from him for about half of what he paid. So, to me this thing is great. FYI, my friend only got it to hover because the app kept crashing (the drone hovered steady as a rock). I always fly with sky controller & phone with app together. I’ve had 0 problems.
A question !! I have such a parrot bebop 2 plane I was controlling with the phone because its control hand does not exist for me and because I set a password for it and forgot it - is there a solution to remove the password and I do not have the control hand ??????
You can connect OTG flash drive directly into the back of the drone. Then press the power button 5 time and it will start transfer all the file into the drive itself. I found this is the most convenient way to transfer files.

Thanks Ben. Thats what I needed to know. Parrot you have just avoided an unhappy customer. Parrot be aware selling a bad FPV experience is not a good idea. A google cardboard will work just as well, and it's deceptive to market it as FPV goggles. When it's really just a google cardboard clone. + your Parrot Drone + controller. I understand it's a competitive market and you have to survive just be careful. You maybe sacrificing short term gains for your long term survival. I guess this is me saying I can see your sweat.. You made a wise choice in trusting Ben with a product review. That reflects well on you. Good luck, Parrot.
Mark Hidden I don't have a BB2 but I do have a BB1 and use my galaxy S7 phone with my Gear VR and it was an amazing experience. what do you expect for $500. a Mavic Pro with high end Fatshark FPV goggles for $500. good luck with that. the Parrot drones are not the highest end do all be all of drones and they ltey to market them as such. For what you pay they are great. And try crashing a Phantom and a BB2 into the side of the building and see which one can still fly. I'll take the BB1 or 2 with metal frame as a posed to the toy grade plastic of a Phantom.

Could you comment in a bit more detail on the latency of the FPV? That's the main reason I was thinking about purchasing this, but if its bad, I'm not sure I will. Was it more or less latent than the other method/headset you used? If so, any idea why?
I didn't have time to measure exact latency (you can probably google search that). It's not terrible flying LOS while glancing at screen, but semi-difficult to fly via FPV with goggles. I found the DJI platform with Litchi app to have less latency

The drone itself look brilliant, better quality than the first one. I like the controller because it look great. The only thing I don't like about it is the fpv goggles, the quality looks good but putting a phone in it is not what I like to have. The question is. I got a flypad controller that work on swing and mambo, can it work on bebop 2?

Have you ever loss one or more of your propellers on your bebop 2 drone? I HAVE SEVERAL TIME! Usually on a hard landing. It is frustrating and shouldn't happen but it does. Well here is the product that is a solution to preventing that from happening again. These Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs are easy to install and works great. Just using your figures, mainly your tum, press Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs into the larger propeller holes. They lock the propellers in place and will not let them unlock. I haven't loss a propeller since installing the Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs. You can find them on ebay, just search for “bebop 2 propeller plug”.
having to pay for two key features on app really irked me - agree they should be included - especially when advertised as product features and shown in videos.
read the documentation or hit the button on the top right of the screen and figure it out from there. You can't do them from the controller only the app as the manual tells you.

i have one and if you go to the app and in the film setting you can change it from stander to 1080p

Could you comment in a bit more detail on the latency of the FPV? That's the main reason I was thinking about purchasing this, but if its bad, I'm not sure I will. Was it more or less latent than the other method/headset you used? If so, any idea why?
I didn't have time to measure exact latency (you can probably google search that). It's not terrible flying LOS while glancing at screen, but semi-difficult to fly via FPV with goggles. I found the DJI platform with Litchi app to have less latency

The drone itself look brilliant, better quality than the first one. I like the controller because it look great. The only thing I don't like about it is the fpv goggles, the quality looks good but putting a phone in it is not what I like to have. The question is. I got a flypad controller that work on swing and mambo, can it work on bebop 2?

Have you ever loss one or more of your propellers on your bebop 2 drone? I HAVE SEVERAL TIME! Usually on a hard landing. It is frustrating and shouldn't happen but it does. Well here is the product that is a solution to preventing that from happening again. These Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs are easy to install and works great. Just using your figures, mainly your tum, press Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs into the larger propeller holes. They lock the propellers in place and will not let them unlock. I haven't loss a propeller since installing the Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs. You can find them on ebay, just search for “bebop 2 propeller plug”.
