I was originally planning on having this video out last week but it just wasn't sounding right so I decided to spend the extra time to make it sound as good as I wanted. I'm sure you can tell that I'm working my way through the Yu-Gi-Oh themes, and hopefully next year I'll upload them all as a short album.

I didn't watch a lot of 5D's when it first aired, but I've always thought the main theme kicked ass.

Yugioh 5ds was the first season of yugioh I watched, I saw it as it aired, absolutely love it.
@@jamiemarshall6832 I also love the subbed and dubbed version, but prefer subbed due to the final Yugioh arc in the subbed being beautiful and perfect. I love most of the theme songs for 5D’s tbh. Only story arc I didn’t care for was the western arc. Otherwise they were pretty freaking solid.
@@samuelkuster3913 even though I grew up with dub, I prefer sub, mostly because that's how I watch anime, and they actually finish the season. I did like the western arc when I first saw it. I do like it but it isnt my favourite. Also in my opinion the music from the sub and dub I love. Clear mind by Masaki Endoh and going my way. I love the ost. As I said I did grow up with 5ds(dub version) so I have a lot of love for it.
Trust me where 5D’s has to be one of the best yugiohs with my fav are yugioh, Gx, 5D’s; however, 5D’s had my favorite mons, character, and everything with the Villians being amazing, and best music in my opinion
Gotta love how a show set in a dystopian future has one of the most chill, peaceful opening soundtracks.
Funny enough Season 4 of GX actually did foreshadow something big from the last part of this series
@@nhacker2242 I wouldn't know. I've only watched GX dubbed so far, so I haven't seen Season 4 yet. I've also only seen like 10 episodes after the Dark Signer Arc. I've been trying to finish 5D's for literally years, and I like 5D's.
I saw some stuff and I think it might have been the Light of Destruction that was foreshadowed in 5D's? I will finish 5D's and GX, so please don't say any spoilers.
@@36moshpit7 Light of Destruction has no connection to 5ds, and the thing that connects with what is shown during the un-dubbed final part of 5ds, is from the un-dubbed 4th season of GX

Imo the best gen for the songs is 5d's. Then following with gx, zexal, and dm. Ohh ya well arc-v, vrains, and sevens, well lets imagine they never had themes in the 1st place. There themes r shit. Terrible.

dubbed was fine, but they really missed the opportunity for advertisement of the jp side by not playing clear mind by masaki endoh during shooting star dragon's time.

I'm a fan of arc v and when someone meme about the "but you still take damage" i just laugh with them
Honestly I agree, had some of the best story arcs, the turbo duels were actually fun to watch and weren't mind numbingly boring, the signers and dark signers thing didn't feel forced and was well-paced and gave way to good story explanation too and Yusei and Jack were always awesome to watch, kudos to their voice actors for really making their characters engaging

Say what you will about 5ds. But I did like the more grown up themes and problems faced by the characters really made it feel like the show was aging with me. Now there is 7s or whatever with this kid who couldn't win so he made up his own rules in order to win lol
With a lot of shows I grew up with, they treated those watching like adults, yes some looked "child like" but they treated the audience with maturity. I grew up with Thomas the tank engine seasons 1 to 5, Tugs, x men(the one from 90s) the 90s spiderman, yugioh 5ds and loads others, if i listed we would be here all day. The point is now most shows are just getting dumbed down, I hate that, if my cousins who are kids dont like some of newer stuff, why did you change it. If it ain't broke dont fix it.
so basically like yuma and atem but on steroids, great, never gonna watch sevens now, 5ds is still the pinnacle of ygo.

Ah that Saturday morning 4 kids lineup on CW at the time was awesome in 5d's was definitely one of the best in that lineup I didn't watch many episodes but the theme for it definitely rocks.

5D'S there was censored but it was still good. On the other hand the original version is a whole different game.
Yusei and Jack are the best characters in Yu-Gi-Oh.
@Nasiar Niblack Kaiba was cool but he wasn't very cool until battle city. Jack and Yusei were badass throughout.

I was never big into Yu Gi Oh, but I watched some of 5Ds back when it was airing and found the story pretty interesting. I always loved the intro and am glad you covered it.

Without a doubt, this is the best cover for Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's "Hyperdrive" I've ever heard and honestly I doubt anyone could top your work Niall..
YES YES YES My favorite Yugioh series theme was so good Wish I could watch the rest of what happens after the show need with them finishing off the dark siders arc storyline but still was a great Yugioh series to add to the collection love you added more to it for extra seconds

The dub ended at the Grand Racing GP or whatever its called, for some reason I don't think they bothered to dub the final arc with the Meklords

Never watched any of the Yu Gi Oh shows a day in my life, nor did I play their game. But the theme sounds cool
5ds is my favorite Yugioh series and is honestly one of my comfort series, I always rewatch it when I'm feeling sad. A big part of that is the theme song, it is absolutely the best and has a nostalgic feel to it
Zexal has two opening themes, looking forward to covering both.

So, I reckon some japanese guy woke up one day and thought to himself: "Hey! What if Yu-Gi-Oh... but also Fast & The Furious, for some reason?"
Funny story, Takahashi originally thought of the idea for it as something totally unrelated to YGO, and it took place in South America with each character being from a different country. It got turned down so it became a YGO spinoff instead. The circle of life.

@@Drace90 In the Duel Art book, he states that the signer marks were inspired by Nazca glyphs from Peru. The five original heroes die in battle in the start and are reborn later with the signer marks as the only reminder of the past. They slowly regain things, get to know each other, and reface their enemy later on. Once it became connected to YGO, Takahashi originally only had Yusei and Jack as the ones to ride motorcycles. But even that got totally changed. 5Ds went through an interesting journey.
