Using the double bypass like in this video is more theft deterrence since thieves would need to unplug the Tazer to deactivate certain features. Scrambling around the car looking for where you hid it could stop them from taking your car.
i read into it and found the answer: the 2018+ challengers have a obd security gateway, that blocks access to most of the computers. In order to have the tazer work properly you need to have the bypass to actually have the tazer being able to talk to all systems.
This is ridiculous. You guys have actually convinced people that this will change a V6 to a RT. A RT to a scat pack. A scat pack to a hellcat. Dodge should sue you over this.

So no one can just hop in the car and pull it out of the OBD2 connector, you can hide it in the trunk area.

You must bypass the security gateway module which restricts data access unless you are a dealer who pays for AutoAuth software.

Not necessary like it is for 2018+ but you can do it if you want to use your OBD2 port for other things
