    Wow who knew sighting in a bow could be so easy, I've shot 2 deer since that began

    Okay I really want to like this sight. The problem I'm having is the laser alignment never stays put. It's extremely frustrating and I've spent hours trying to get the laser to line up correctly. it seems inevitably when you tighten down the set screws you move the laser.
    Not only that, once I feel like I have it where it should be, I shoot a few arrows and then the laser is no longer aligned. I can tell because when I range my 3D targets ( I already know the distances via my handheld rangefinder) - I range right over their backs or under them and then I get the incorrect holdover pin.
    I really want to take this hunting but if I range the deer's shoulder and it ranges over its back or under its belly and I miss the shot what the hell good is it?
    To give you an idea of how long I've been screwing with it, the batteries in the laser have now died and I have to wait for new ones in the mail!

    • @casualobserver77
      @casualobserver77 5 лет назад +2

      Ok. Got the new batteries for the sight in laser...
      After some messing around, I've finally got it ranging effectively at long range.
      I recalibrated the sight, and now it's drilling 3d targets like crazy.
      I'm gonna hunt hard with this thing... Let's see how it stands up to Florida heat and swamps, and the frozen hunts later this year in Illinois.
      Super excited to put this game changer to work.

      Mine was extremely accurate. Way more than my Garmin xero. That is because mine was messed up so they replaced the unit. Burris has Horrible customer service. I had my unit replaced. It took months. They were not polite at ALL.

    I don't guess I heard, but do you put 20 yard fixed point on deer and hit range button? If you don't have point to aim, how do you know ur aiming at deer or tree just behind it?

    Does the rear peep sight have a windage setting or just a elevation setting? Once the rear peep sight is coincident with the string peep sight, can the string peep sight be removed?

  • @michaelkelly6769

    So once it is dialed in, can you laser a 75 yard target and the pin shows up and you nail it?

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  4 года назад +1

      Yes, so long as your arrows are tuned and you're holding/releasing properly. Basically, once you're dialed in the rangefinder lights up the right pin for the distance.

  • @hmoobko
    @hmoobko 4 года назад

    Tried doing the same as he did draw and see where the lasers at and then adjusted the same way he did. Back to full draw the laser is completely off DOES NOT WORK. I had to keep drawing back and make small adjustment until it lines up. Still have problems ranging out to 50 yards. A lot of false reading from the laser.

    So, after you have done your calibration work, all you have to do is turn the sight on, put the laser on the deer and the sight will display the dot, which you align with the place on the deer you want the arrow to hit? No more guessing the distance.

    To cumbersome for hunting, just my feedback. Not being negative just to large and awkward for where a lot of us hunt. Maybe Burris will take this feedback and make a smaller package.

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  2 года назад

      Quite far from the truth. These in fact require quite a bit of extra practice. Extra factors come into play at these extended ranges and without proper fundamentals and practice at these ranges you'll be sending arrows all over the place.

      One thing about the archery market -- you get plenty of choices to find the exact setup you want.
      The Oracle won't be for everyone.
      But I would point out that it does NOT have a visible laser. It's a rangefinding laser beam, which are totally invisible.

    • @GrizzAxxemann
      @GrizzAxxemann 5 лет назад

      @@BurrisOpticsCompany So that visible laser is just for sighting in? Or can you switch it on at random times just to mess with your buddies too?

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  5 лет назад +5

      @@GrizzAxxemann The visible laser is just for initial alignment and sighting in. It is then removed from the sight, and can easily be used to tease your cat or mess with your buddies.

    • @GrizzAxxemann
      @GrizzAxxemann 5 лет назад +1

      @@BurrisOpticsCompany Just the answer I was looking for. It's just a shame that my bow is only worth half as much (in Canadian dollars) as the sight. Ah well. Get good with what I have then I can upgrade to the nice high end bow and justify a $1300CAD sight. I already know it's good kit, since the rifle scopes I have have yet to fail me.

  • @George1mac

    I imagine this will be illegal in many states for taking deer....but given the fact certain crossbows are now allowed, I suppose anything will soon be the norm.........

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  5 лет назад

      You are correct. There's some more info on our website (www.burrisoptics.com) about where it's legal. And as with all game rules, it can get confusing, so make sure to check with your local departments.
