The original un-errata'd CED was so game warping, that if it remained as originally printed today, it would probably even still see play in Dragon Link decks.
I would argue it would be the only reason to play dragon link currently. Imagine Magna searching this in the end phase so the opponent has to keep something for it despite all your plays (unless shifter) then Seyfert adding back from GY anything to help you close the game. Or going first hand looping. Armageddon is a great retrain but I'm still salty for the errata and would prefer being forever banned
It was my first guess, but then I thought: how good would it be in advanced? Sure, it might be a good going second card and an annoying way of winning at time. Prolly someone might figure out some crazy ftk lines with it but still... Online I didn't find anything that impressive nor consistent.
@@babrad i would rather have a permaban than a nerf. at least you can still play in traditional and no ban formats where as nerfing it makes the card no longer worth running stats aside. and because of how power creep runs its course and it is an ignition effect i could see it one day not being necessary to permaban if it had the original effect. the question remains though what would dragon link look like in a no ban no nerf format? china had a no ban format with the 1999 effects of witch, sangan and last will and the number 1 deck was magi-sci ishizu tears.
primarily what holds CED from being potentially game breaking in the future is that its removal effect is not a quick effect and priority ignition has been gone since 2011.
Jesse is becoming the Wolfe of Yu-Gi-Oh and I'm here for it. I noticed the similar editing style a while back, but now it's just his current series lol
I paused the video before your top 3 for my guesses. Dragon Rulers, as there is an entire format in their name. Stardust Dragon, as it's such an iconic card even in Edison today. And finally Chaos Emperor Dragon since it's the OG big baddie that started it all. Great video Jesse, I really enjoyed it. Would like to see one for most types but Machine would be fun
Lowkey my favorite Dragon is Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon since it's got so many counterparts, like revolution, Phantasm, and then it leads into Z-Arc, plus it was always cool to have Performapals alongside it, just made for a cool deck that never really became meta, unless you count Meteor 🤷🏻♂️
I put Pendulum and Advance in like all my decks. They have been reliable core pieces to my overall engine. What Pendulum can search for is still hella strong. I have been using Rain Bozu for the high end instead of the Performapal cards or the Abyss Actors card that applies too. It is also able to search out Dragodies the Empowered Warrior, which is a continual Riryoku in back and a search for another on battle destruction.
Ever since 2004 it’s been Blue Eyes Shining Dragon for me, just because of the impact it has had on my life but I think CED probably has had the biggest impact on the game for a dragon being one of the first banned cards ever because of how good it was. Also I really like this type of video Jessie this is cool!
Cool series idea. I think it'd be sweet to see a table that shows the different monster types and their best card at the beginning and end of each video that gets filled in as the series progresses.
Arkbrave dragon. Being able to remove face up spells and traps from play and having it screw over my opponent is one of the most satisfying ways to get ahead in a game. Its monster reborn effect is nice too
Has to be Agarpain. No non-xyz ED dragon without a summoning restriction can be above it since Agarpain makes it. The only main deck monster that might compete is pre-errata CED and the only xyz might be DMD.
I did play the full dragon ruler era, i was running tidal mermails with 3 tidals and 2 streams in the deck... the deck was unstopable, kinda same power as judgmend spellbooks if u could play it properly. But man full power dragon rulers was on a different level. Good times :D
I know you are probably busy, but I like your 1 card combo ideas, so I've got one for you to try to accomplish. Use Burning Bamboo Sword, Soul Devouring Bamboo Sword, and Terminal World to skip every phase on your opponents turn.
My top 10 dragons: 10- Guardragon Elpy 9- Ancient Fairy Dragon 8- Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon 7- Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom 6- Number 95: Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon 5- Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos (representing all 4) 4- Guardragon Agarpain 3- Dark Armed Dragon 2- Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End (pre erratum, it was the best card in the game) 1- Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon (it won a Worlds after its erratum)
I like this video format, reminds me of wolfe's best pokemon of a certain type series, also this video is a testament to how insanely broken the earlier versions of dragon link were for their time with so many cards that are now either banned limited or errata'd
Chaos Emperor Dragon was not only one of the most impactful and strongest cards ever printed at their prime but made special summoning affordable. Boss monster before that and powerful cards in generel had pretty weird and restrictive conditions that you have to fullfill in order to special summon them. With Chaos Emperor Dragon and the chaos monsters in generell, special summoning was easier to do which chaned the game until today.
I would've put Druiswurm over Magnumhut but they're pretty close in power level. Also the effect to "send" a card to the graveyard to bypass destruction negate is HIGHLY underrated.
Darkness Metal Dragon sees play in Dragon Link a lot now because of Verudras. There are combos 1 and 2 card combos that easily get you to it since Black Metal Dragon can search for it. Because of Verudras your opponent has to drop Nibiru early if they didn't open any negation hand traps.
Definitely think the likes of Crimson Dragon, Ultimaya, Crystal Wing, The Rokkets, Hieratic Seal and Borrelsword are some that are more deserving than Flamvell Guard to be here
Off the top of my head my top 3 would be something like CED, Borreload Savage and Stardust ? Maybe that weird foolish 3 one that got banned straight away when dragon ruler were around (galaxy eyes dark matter something something ?)
I have to go with Red Supernova Dragon, not too many decks can deal with a boardwipe let alone 2 with red zone lol and i cant wait to see what the best warrior card is, i always feel like warriors arent super strong cards except baronne, nekroz and...?
NGL my fav dragon ( and IMO the strongest) is the greatest superpoly target ever. Starving Venom Fusion Dragon. some decks will still struggle to out it if its made on the opponent's turn
This one is difficult... 1. Chaos Emperor 2. Dark Matter 3. Druiswurm But because I like it... Gandora! Also, I thought that it was a list for individuals.
To me it's PepegaRuler. -Pseudo Kitkallos/Prosperity -GY reborn for basically free -No restrictions whatsoever besides playing light and darks which is no restriction in the slightest Idk how some ppl still defend the fairness of thst card and want it back
Okay they should make an Archetype for Luster Dragon. It’s my favourite level 4 normal monster! Be pretty cool to have a strong Wind Dragon based deck, having the ability to do a mix of Synchro and Link summons
One dragon I think can rival OG CED is Victory Dragon, the first match winner card and one that revolutionised yugioh in terms of sportsmanship - for the worst. A card that had to be banned not for its power, but because its existance threatened the integrity of the game as a whole. Seeing it in a position to do what its supposed to was an instant scoop because it was better than losing the whole match, and lead to poor sportsmanship issues.
Dark requiem xyz dragon and arc rebellion xyz dragon. Edit: The part of the video showing the black rose dragon tin reminds me of the time I got the tin and got black rose dragon not only from the tin but also the pack.
Jessie masterking archfiend combo deck please its a once per chain said to grave a fiend with attack and/or defense equal to the amount of life points u pay (he doesn't make u pay life points outside of standby phase) please help me with this deck
Judgment Dragon doesn't force people to scoop and doesn't really have much utility plus there's so many cards nowadays that prevent destruction by opponents card effects JD is out dated.
If albaz isn’t on here i’m calling scam, branded no matter how much power creep still continues to be playable, as well as being interruption itself, it also brought so many different dragons into the game

Shooting Quasar Dragon was first true omni-negate. Definitely worth mentioning.
When your entire deck and full hand was dedicated to summoning just 1 Omni negate.
Stardust dragon assault mode?
True. Right now, your whole hand is now used for Magia, with potential 3 negates, but that's it.

Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon might be for me.
A card that has been basically meta for dragons since its release from disaster dragons to dragon link and literally ANY dragon decks inbetween
Surprised Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres isnt on this list anywhere.
Number 95: Galaxy Eyes Dark Matter Dragon

When you said "disaster dragons" that took me back a decade. I know the deck was TOXIC however i miss it
It was toxic but to me it truly felt like a dragon deck. One of my favs for sure
Cool series idea. I think it'd be sweet to see a table that shows the different monster types and their best card at the beginning and end of each video that gets filled in as the series progresses.
Fallen of Albaz? 😢
Completely agree with the list, other than savage (and maybe saryuja). Savage is so powerful and has had such a huge impact on the game since 2019
cool video, it would be really cool to see what a modern version of dragon link with fiendsmith cards would look like
Arkbrave dragon. Being able to remove face up spells and traps from play and having it screw over my opponent is one of the most satisfying ways to get ahead in a game.

9- Ancient Fairy Dragon
8- Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon
