    I really like this guys style of video. Really informative on so many levels, and the details he shows on these videos are great. Add the production value of multiple cameras etc. I really appreciate the work that goes into these.

    Thank you Jack for another great video adventure in trucking. In 2015, I went through a very bad time in my life and watching your videos back then really helped. You took me places I'd never been, showed me a lifestyle I've never been part of, and your calm voice and tremendous work ethic really inspired me to keep on trucking with life. Thank you Jack and God bless you.

    As a college student, your videos have really been a great way for me to sit back and relax for a little while, as I've been studying for my finals almost non-stop these past few weeks. I recently came across your channel and I really hope you continue to make these kind of videos. They are a lot of fun to watch! Seems to me like you're living the dream! Thank you for allowing us to join you on your adventures!

    So I'm a little late and didn't read all the comments but, I'll finish your history. I grew up literally 5 miles from that plant born and raised in Lorain. The road you saw going over US 6 to the lake side was part of the year course for when the finished cars rolled off the line. The Tampa you speak of were used to load the cars in trains. They never shipped them by the lake only train and truck. A majority of the plant has been torn down but what's left lives on as history. I once worked with a retired gentleman who moved to Lorain in 1958 to work at ford for 1.57 and hour. In nearby Elyria stands a repurposed GM plant specifically fisher body. Lots of history in the area with much of it gone.

    Indiana Jack! You are a truly patient man. I've been retired since 2015 but even then there were so many trucks on the road a guy had to change his way of operating such as moving the truck after fueling, get a shower early in the morning etc. out of respect for other drivers. I started in 1970 and have used the military barracks style showers. Today's showers are much better. I've owned a few Ford's in my lifetime that were built in Lorraine, Ohio. I guess your headed for Sam's Club in Lakeland. Thanks for the ride. I'm gonna jump off here and take care of a chore. Truck em easy😎🇺🇸

    Nice video Jack ,thank for making them it's nice to see someone with such a good attitude. When you mentioned the guy getting killed in SC ,it reminded me I heard on the news a couple days ago that a trucker at Knight in Katy, Tx. shot a employee, and then himself. the shooter was someone that had been fired, other guy was a manager or dispatcher. It's a shame stuff like that happens .

    Very much enjoyed this vid Jack - the extra on road footage added to the quality production. Being from the 'land down under' am curious about the weather at this time of year, I see the trees in Ohio still without much foliage. A short mention of the forecast etc could add to the experience for us 'armchair' riders. Stay safe.

    I stay in my truck. I have a flat screen TV with Google Chromecast , a PS4 and a laptop. Truck stops charge to much so there is no need to go inside. All I do is walk around and leave. When I started over 20 years ago it was a different story. Back then we would hang around party row. Drink beer, BBQ and someone was always around to play the guitar, we had fun back then. Not anymore. I miss the old days. Now it's a job just like any other job. And freedom? Forget it. They track every move you make.

    • @JimmPearson

    • @beerrunner8153
      @beerrunner8153 7 лет назад +3

      Uncle Buck
      It's not us that did that it's the mega carriers that did that to us. Back in the day all we had was a pay phone and map. We had time between pick ups and deliveries. I remember calling in and they say call back in 2 hours. A driver had time to sit and talk to other drivers. Now it's go,go,go. No time for anything but work. It was a great job to have. Now they look over shoulder to make sure you working. And don't get me going on the driver facing cameras. I'm glad to remember the better times.

    Hi Indiana: On your water leak, are you looking at the level at the same time? By same time, I mean only check it before you start....when everything is still cold. Water Volume goes up and down depending on its temperature as the Temperature changes the Water's volume. If you fill it too much, it will just get blown off out the overflow pipe. Just running a long hill will change the volume in the Radiator....let the truck find its own level. If you have to add each day or two when cold, then you do have a leak. Check for leaks when cold as heat will often seal up a small leak. If you have access to a roll of white paper 3 feet wide and 7 feet long, lay it under the engine overnight....this will pick up the water from a cold leak.

    Ford doesn't make a cyclone, however Mercury did around 1963 up. My dad was a ford guy, he had a lot of comets from 1963 to 1966 then switched to Mercury Montery , then to Cogars RX then his last two cars were LTD's. My buddy had a Ford Fairlane GT 390 cdi, that was a runner, so that brought back some memories. I still have a little 95 escort LX in my garage with 140,000 on it, my town driver, never game me much trouble. The Escort sits aside my 1997 Super Jeep Cherokee 4.0 HD. OF. which I love and just totally rebuilt, still a lot cheaper than a new one and it is rated to pull 5,800 LBS. and I have a myers plow for it. That lady in the Tanker was just a tad ignorant, if she was blocking the thru fair, if you won't say it I will! It bites me too when they sit in the fuel island of a busy truck stop while they run into the store especially if it's busy. I like your videos, shame there not a few a week LOL.. Stay safe and hug Red for me LOL.. That tractor is serving you well. BTW technically, and you knew this, Mercury, Comet, Lincoln were/are all a division of Ford so to despite my opening statement, you were technically right. LOL

    With regards to the fitness room, I've only dipped my toes into driving since last Oct. (2015).....I'm gaining a ton of weight. I'd love to have the time to use exercise equipment. I don't do fast food. I pack a meal/snack for every night. I love my tuna on crackers (thanks for that idea Jack). Gogurts (not just for kids), bananas, pretzels, cheese sticks, and water. I was already fat, but now I'm getting fatter still. Diet and health never occurred to me when I thought it would be a good idea to drive a truck.
    I'm not a truck drive (a.k.a. Professional Driver), I'm just a guy who happens to drive a truck. I don't have to deal with most things associated with truck drivers. No fuel stops, no weigh stations, no parking, home every night, I rarely go more than 300 miles from my home terminal. So it's go, go, go, go for me, as well as most people I work with. I rarely stop anywhere, and only for a bathroom. I get to my dispatched terminal, switch out trailers (wiggle wagons), or meet my turn driver, get back home, wait 10 hours, and do it again. I can't imagine finding the time to actually work out, although I love the idea of it. Perhaps it's because I'm still new to this trade, but it's not uncommon to use all 14 hours of service and 11 hours of driving. I need more time in the day!

    I have been down these roads many time on trips for the Regional Concert Production Company that I had worked for ten of the last sixteen years. Outside Ripley, WV. there is a town that is unincorporated called Cottsgeville that has a fair named Jackson County Jr. Fair where I have worked for a week at a time. Made some good friends there that included a local police officer that worked all of the concerts at the fair at the time.

    When I first started driving (for JB Hunt) I went in there several times. JB back in the day could haul 6 cars in a container. They had a special rack made just to haul cars.

    Amtrak only runs scenic route trains at night. When they can't practically do this, they arrange the most scenic portions to pass in the night, and, if possible, the most dreary to pass in full daylight. The Empire Builder is an example of this, as is the Coast Starlight. "See America at see level."
