Yo it would be dope if you checked out Underverse by Jael Penaloza(Jakei). I personally think this animation series is great and one of the best for Undertale animations. It's really nice to see how this guy’s animation grows from decent to literal Mappa anime level quality. So basically all you really need to know is that there are a LOT of undertale fan games, and this series, Underverse, is basically a crossover between them. It follows Sans who had half his soul stolen, and he chases this thief across different parallel universes (fan games). There are a lot of different characters and stakes that get really high scale (like the destruction of the multiverse and fights between gods). I can understand that the story is kinda confusing, trust me Underverse was actually my first introduction to Undertale and nothing made sense to me cause I knew none of the lore. Still though, I think it's a great series with decent characters and writing (some lines are kinda cringe but this was made by a teenager by himself) with some amazing animation (trust me it's actually an anime in the latest season, with its own opening and stuff). All you really need to know about Undertale before going into this is that in the actual game of Undertale (slight spoilers for the game): The save points and restarting the game are actually canonical powers that the player(Frisk/Chara) has. In the game, it's basically like you are resetting the universe/timeline every time you save and die. Undertale is also a story mode game, where actions have consequences and the player can go through a Pacifist route, a Neutral route, or a Genocide route. In the Genocide route, you unlock a beast that permanently alters the game and character interactions, even if you restart the game. Most characters don’t know about the reset powers, but a select few do. The ones that know are the player(Frisk/Chara), a flower, and more importantly Sans. So, if you become hitler, Sans will remember. Sans is actually canonically aware of the timeline resets and pokes fun at you for it. This is why Sans is so famous and powerful, because he is an exception. This is also why Sans is the hardest boss in the game, since he knows your save points, and that you’ll keep coming back to try and beat him again. Sans can also tell your Lv. Your Lv stands for LOVE, and LOVE stands for Level-of-Violence. In a Genocide run, your Level-of-Violence is so high that Sans can use Karma (extra damage) on you, otherwise Sans is the easiest enemy, since he canonically has 1-attack and 1-defense. Imagine Sans as someone who put all his points into unlocking abilities but never leveling up or upgrading his stats. Sans knows about your “determination” to kill him, so he does what he can to annoy the hell out of you, and his knowledge makes him the hardest to beat. Sans basically breaks the normal rules the other enemies follow, so he became famous for being an anomaly. He basically has the status and the aura of Gojo in the fandom. Though, he’s mostly a chill guy (as long as you’re not a mass murderer or kill his little brother, Papyrus). You should also know that there is this guy, Gaster. I don’t even really know who he is. He’s got several MatPat videos and that should tell you enough. Some think he’s Sans’ dad, some think he’s a scientist who fell into his own machine and glitched out of the universe. There is an alternate version of this guy in Underverse who is pulling the strings. Basically he’s a glitch canonically and a god in Underverse. In this Underverse (this is where the story diverges from the game), the main character is Sans, and this Sans is special. This is because this is the only Sans in the multiverse that broke the timeline by stealing the Reset powers from the player during a Genocide timeline. This is supposed to be impossible, but Sans broke it. Sans became the owner of his timeline, something that is supposed to be reserved for the player only throughout all timelines. This is why the events of Underverse start happening, this error caused a lot of side effects and made this universe special. This anomaly draws the eyes of certain characters and gets the ball rolling. That’s all you really need to know. Undertale is complicated and Underverse even more so. Though, with that info, everything else in the show should be self-explanatory. It ain’t as confusing as Gildedguy, but there is a lot more talking. You should give it a watch. I think it’s one of the best fan made animation series on RUclips, it's even got a whole movie. This would be a banger for you to watch. I yap too much.
