    I'm left-handed. I've recently decided to loop attack any serve or return that is long to my forehand - and it's working pretty well. I'm having more issue with doing a backhand loop attack and tend to default to a backhand flick just after the ball hits hits my side of the table (on the rise). Your videos are helping. Glad more and more are watching - it really is great information.

      Ahh David I feel you. It’s a very common thing to fall under to with the backhand. Similar to me when I started.
      I’ll do the backhand loop with an assistant player for real life examples and all!!

    I'm having a lot of trouble with the long pendulum to the BH corner, especially when it has a lot of SS, some BS and some speed. Maybe you can do a follow up demonstrating that part.

    • @DublinTableTennisClub
      @DublinTableTennisClub  3 года назад +3

      Yeah I feel you. That was my first weakness / problem that I came across when learning to play / started to play matches.
      The best way is to counter attack with a backhand topspin / loop and use more wrist than a full arm follow through cause the ball has enough pace to be returned and then build yourself up to create more speed with arm.
      Once I get a chance to bring along players as helpers in the video, I will for sure do this topic :)

    Eddie, thanks for all the information and support. I'm having a problem with my servers. I, as a beginner server, just simple servers, but I lose points .as it either ends up in the net or out of the board

    • @DublinTableTennisClub
      @DublinTableTennisClub  2 года назад

      Try to learn the backhand serve first. And the best and easiest answer is you need more practice and time to be put on the table. Serves is all about touch and contact so you need to exercise that as much as you can. Literally to spend 20min on the table with target training could go a long way if you do it each session :)
      I have a tutorial on the backhand serve on my channel! One of the first videos I have ever made :)

      And no of course not :) If you keep it simple and follow the instructions of the basic techniques then your progress will be quite fast. Just make sure during matches you stick to your style and techniques. Its best to lose doing the correct things rather than win by doing weird habit methods :)
