- Why you need a BAD axe for axe throwing of course means the throwing axe from the WATL. This throwing axe performed very well. Better than expected. I detail how this axe flew so well with single, double and triple rotations. I think I liked this axe so much because it did very well for distance. I was able to maintain really good accuracy and consistency up close but still keep those same attributes for distance axe throws. I compare this throwing axe with other throwing axes and of course we discuss these axe handles more due to the handles usually breaking on every axe throwing session.
Axe throwing! My axe throwing is based on primarly using work axes or axe tools to throw in real world environments. Join me as I embark on this journey to provide my knowledge of axe throwing! Tips, tricks and fundamentals to get you out there throwing with confidence and accuracy!
I also cover my passion for design work! Anything from complete axe head designs to redesigns that change the weight or the look of the axe head all together but still creating a functional axe! Handle design and finishes, custom builds and tools I use are just a few other things I do on this channel too!
I test and review axes ranging from high end to common axes you find in your local hardware store! All of my reviews are done with an honest opinion regardless of manufacturer. No BS, no bias opinions here. The real truth on axes and throwing axes!

Great video, I've been waiting to find an axe that I can get into throwing with and this is the one I'm going to go with, can't wait to see you haft it on a new handle and tell us which handle you get if you get one from Whiskey River.
I had the handle picked out already. It’s similar to the handle that’s on my king of diamonds. But when I went onto Whiskey River last night to buy it, I couldn’t find it. I’ll check again early next week. I know they sell out fast. If I can’t find it I might have to go with Beaver tooth handles again. But I wanted to give whiskey River handles some love on the channel
Outstanding review on another WATL axe. No surprise on the handle breaking. I look forward to more videos. Thanks for the time and work you put in making these. Your knowledge and efforts are appreciated!
Good job on your review wess keep it up I enjoy your videos
Another good review. It's very cool that you are adding a few competition style throws in the mix, just to see how it might do, I appreciate that so I can see how it might possibly due in that style. I agree 100%, if an axe can survive combat throwing, it'll survive competition styled. I just love watching the full on, combat throwing. Links us back to history and the warrior spirit. I also like how you are able to compare some of the axes to others that you've thrown and are able to apply real world data from one, to another. I hadn't considered the Bad axe, until now. It's on my list now to keep in mind for the future. I picked up the King of Diamonds a couple of weeks ago, using a lot of your real world info into making the final decision. Again, that's why I really appreciate your real world info and reviews. Keep up the great work.
Thanks I appreciate that and I’m glad you’re getting something from the channel. I’m still learning. I always want to stay learning you know? So hopefully with that, I can bring more back to you guys and the channel. I get so involved in axes and axe throwing because I just enjoy it so much. It’s easy when you love it! Hoping we get more axes and more info this year like the bad axe brought. Thanks!
Nice job, are right on your take. They also have a version of the bad axe for big axe. Can’t wait for the Whiskey River handle halftime as I’m waiting for my WATL lieutenant handle to finish during and have a WR handle waiting. Thanks
I started with dollar store axes for throwing $5. Started modifying them with hand tools and a grinder made handles out of wood from my property. Targets out of logs from the property so into the sport or life skill for about $20 dollars. The biggest problem is I have as much fun making as throwing.
Just found your channel, really enjoy your approach to reviewing axes!
Possibly Silly question....is the Nedfoss valkyrie any good? My wife just found it & she really wants one for throwing at the local pub.
why? you need to compete in axe throwing league why?
Not one of those godlike beings who have the power to heat up metal and repair an axe while also having access to thick carvable branches though.
how does it compares to the cold steel Axe gang hatchet since they share a similar shape and size?
