Great video. I'm not understanding how to identify insulated vs non insulated wheels. I have all steel wheels connected to plastic trucks same as you used.
Insulated wheel have a bit of plastic connecting the axle and the wheel - on one side only. You can test this with a simple LED lightbulb circuit or a meter.
Possible but the risk is that the wire will catch something since it has to be loose and would be likely lower that the height of the axle. For N scale it would also weaken the plastic pin. Generally, if you put the wire under the "inside" axle - that's the best approach. Thanks for the comment.
