Say you have a remote panel with your complete track diagram. Could these units, I'll call 'Block Detectors', be used to show where a train is at on the diagram? Also for a yard diagram? Do you offer extension cables for remote sensors?

Yes, that's their main purpose. You can wire a longer wire to the Signal Out of the Control unit 20' away if you like. The jumper between the Nano PD control unit and the sensor has to be a short as possible,, in this case max of 9".

Im definitely interested in this in N scale, as im planning a new modular layout.
Im unable to use the Atlas Signal System since they do not have a block detector thats compatible with "DC only" layouts as mine is.
Also, i want to wire double head signals (like the atlas signals) to a double crossover. I havent decided whether to hand lay my tracks and use atlas turnouts or buy Kato Unitrack. But at any rate, the Atlas signals drawback is that they are common cathode only, and no one to date makes an N scale signal with the fine scale details like the ladders and platforms like Atlas has.
So any information from you would help greatly as to how to go about these things.

Our Signal system isn't not tied to any scale or track power. Our LED Signal Controller has Polarity switching and individual adjustments for each LED.

You can use the atlas system on a dc layout. You need to have a separate power supply

    Interesting!
My only want would be to have the wires plug into the Nano from the bottom {not sideways as it is now} so you could plug the wire into the Nano and drop the wired Nano into the location.
I'm about 6-9 months out from starting benchwork. I like what I've seen so far.

The connector is 5-pins and would require a MUCH larger hole if it was mounted vertically. That's why we mourn it sideways.

So how does this connect to JMRI?
Sorry I dont have the controller manual - maybe through that primary device?

Any external detector you want to connect to JMRI has to have a serial (or LocoNet) device for the connection. That's no different with ours. We have ideas about how to make that easier in the future.

Please, continue to make the older model as well! The older model's sensor board fits under n scale track rather nicely, but as for a fellow n scaler... cutting 3 ties to make a sensor fit...(in my opinion)...is unexceptable! I'd rather deal with connecting those 5 little wires to the tiny ports of the older model's brain, while under the layout, than create an "eye sore" by cutting out 3 ties to make room for the new sensor. I do understand why the change, but when I saw what had to be done to make the new sensor fit under n scale track, I was sorely disappointed.
As for the older model, why can't a 5 wire plug be attached to the end of those 5 wires, that would plug into the brain unit? Yes! The hole would have to be larger to fit the plug through, but to remedy that, just wad up a small scrap of tissue paper, wet it with alcohol, and stuff it in the hole along with the wires. When it dries, it would be solid enough to cover it with most any scenic material. BTW, I'm extremely impressed, with what you are doing! Keep up the good work!

We had these in the works all along but could not release them yet. Check out our product page for the complete set of sensor installation options. Let us know what you think.

What an awesome idea!!! But, what is the size of the hole where the 9" 5 wire connector cable goes through the layout?
