Fun fact, in one of the many deleted scenes in this movie Tony mentions looking into secret Projects "Pegasus, Goliath, and Exodus." Those are three separate Easter eggs referencing other Marvel stuff. It would have been so cool if that scene stayed in the movie as foreshadowing because those projects' backstories took years to come into the MCU. In fact, only 2 of them have been introduced so far, with the third being speculated. I like how well marvel introduces the hero’s & connects everything while it’s not perfect they do a top notch job making a universe. Tony went through it this movie! Black widow is badass🔥🔥
Ivan Vanko in this is a combination of the Iron Man villains Crimson Dynamo and Whiplash from the comics, in this film he goes by Whiplash. Crimson Dynamo was basically a Soviet version of Iron Man and the armor was worn by Anton Vanko, Ivan's father.
@@Belnick6666 Why skip the movie? I know it's not on Disney+ but Spider-Man Homecoming Far From Home and No Way Home are not in it either because of Sony.
Ivan: "If you make God bleed, people will cease to believe," this line actually is pretty relevant much much later on (I'm talking like close to 5 years from when this movie came out to when it becomes relevant again), but it's a pretty powerful line and oddly comes up again in a future MCU movie.
Thor 1st movie is awesome. I'm truly happy you're watching "Captain America soon. The second Captain America movie is one of my favorite movies. He is my favorite "Marvel superhero.
I remember reading about the recast of Rhodes and I, for one, was not happy because I thought it would be distracting to have a new actor take on an established role, but somewhere between "It's me, deal with it" and "Oh, man. You can have your suit back" I knew that they had made the right choice for the franchise going forward. Copy and paste that for Hulk. Please don't skip the Hulk! Don't skip anything, actually. There are several series as well and tho, not as tightly woven into the events of the MCU they are not separate either and should not be excluded. You should also watch the X-men movies and the Sony Spider-man movies: The Raimi trilogy and the sad Amazing Spider-man duology. So many reactions! I can't wait!
welcome to the family, Colette. enjoy your journey in the MCU's Infinity Saga - you have a long way to keep on watching. 26:47 - that's was Thor's hammer - you'll meet him very soon.
Definitely watch The Incredible Hulk, even though they recast the actor it’s still supposed to be the same Bruce Banner it ties into the Avengers and everything
Even though it isn’t the top tier of the Marvel movies, u should still watch The Incredible Hulk (especially since the MCU has mid/post credit scenes and Incredible Hulk is an MCU movie). Also if ur staying with watching things by release order, the Incredible Hulk is second for the MCU movies: 1) Iron Man 2) The Incredible Hulk 3) Iron Man 2
Gotta watch ALL of the Marvel films/shows. They are all interconnected, and referenced in future films/shows. If you don't watch them all, you'll miss little details that enhance each film. Also, just in case you don't know, some films have multiple end credit scenes. Fun fact: The blonde journalist actress interviewing Sam Rockwell (Justin Hammer) is his wife in real life.
Hey, Colette! The second Iron Man entry is a total blast that ups the ante of the first film by having Tony ride high on the celebrity of his public declaration as well as suffer privately from deadly blood poisoning caused by his arc reactor, create a new element as well as a new suit, contend with a vengeful technical genius as well as a corporate antagonist and engage in a colossal three-way armored battle for the climax! The Hammer-Vanko storyline is clearly a tribute to one of Iron Man's signature arcs -- "Armor Wars" -- wherein Tony has to shut down every operation that's appropriated stolen StarkTech including SHIELD! This is also the only film to touch on Tony's alcoholism which should have been the subject of a whole movie as it is CENTRAL to the character. The legendary "Demon in a Bottle" arc has Tony hit rock bottom and turn over his Iron Man duties to James Rhodes which would have been some great material for both Robert Downey, Jr. and Don Cheadle as the new 'Rhodey' replacing Terrence Howard. The film boasts an incredible cast with RDJ portraying Tony Stark in full manic mode as a man keenly aware of his imminent mortality yet in simultaneous aggressive denial. He is supported by a nakedly envious Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer, a menacingly bemused Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko aka Whiplash, a lusciously lethal Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow and an earnest, exasperated Don Cheadle as Lt. Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes aka War Machine. Garry Shandling even shows up in a small role he reprises elsewhere in the MCU as Senator Stern. The "His Girl Friday"-like romantic banter between Tony and Gwyneth Paltrow's Virginia 'Pepper' Potts remains a comic highlight with Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson serving as a great straight man. I also really like John Slattery's contribution as elder Howard Stark who looms so large in Tony's life. Slattery's portrayal in Stark's promotional recordings is a hybrid of a young Howard Hughes and a middle-aged Walt Disney. Of course, director Jon Favreau as Harold 'Happy' Hogan and Paul Bettany as JARVIS return. Perpetually p***ed-off Sam Jackson as Col. Nick Fury swings by to drop some dark Stark legacy in Tony's lap as well as drop a hint of Asgardian doings in the Southwest. Leslie Bibb returns as journalist Christine Everhart as does Tim Guinee as USAF Major Allen. Kate Mara has a bit part as a process server and Elon Musk appears as himself! TRIVIA: 1. Natasha's belt buckle carries her sigil which is the red angular hourglass shape that is found on the actual backs of black widow spiders. 2. The events of "Iron Man 2", "The Incredible Hulk" and "Thor" all occur during one week in MCU-time called Fury's Big Week! EASTER EGGS: 1. The half-finished, star-spangled convex object Tony uses to balance his makeshift particle accelerator is a prototype of Captain America's shield! 2. While Tony reads his psych evaluation by Natasha, one of the holo-screens shows a field reporter covering the aftermath of Hulk's Culver University rampage indicating that Hulk's adventure is still in progress while Tony has just completed his which places "Iron Man 2" earlier in the chronology than "Incredible Hulk". 3. Tony's status as a SHIELD consultant sets up the One-Shot "The Consultant" which accompanies "Incredible Hulk" recontextualizing its barroom end-credit scene with Ross. 4. The kid in the Iron Man helmet Tony saves from the drone at the Expo is a pre-Spider-Man Peter Parker! CAMEO: 1. Stan Lee shows up as Larry King complete with suspenders as Tony descends the escalator from the opening Stark Expo! END-CREDIT SCENE: 1. The end-credit scene is actually an excerpt from "Thor" which shows Coulson arriving in New Mexico at the crater made by the impact of Thor's fallen hammer, Mjolnir. The next chronological stop in the MCU is a featurette called a One-Shot that occurs at the end of "Iron Man 2" prior to the end-credit scene which is actually a clip from "Thor". "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer" serves as a little prelude to "Thor" as Coulson travels to New Mexico and stumbles onto some unexpected action. It is found on the "Captain America: The First Avenger" blu-ray and DPlus. Occurring concurrently, the next film to see is "The Incredible Hulk" although it's advisable to see the non-canon, proto-MCU "Hulk" film from 2003 by Ang Lee first if you have no knowledge of the character.
Apologies if this was already covered, I didn’t spot anything, though: What Vanko meant in Monaco by “You lose” is, Tony claimed earlier that he was the only one anywhere close to producing tech on the level of the Iron Man suit, then Vanko rocked up in front of a bunch of witnesses and proved otherwise.
Maybe, or maybe that even though Tony beat him, he hurt him _enough_ that he wasn't the _Invincible_ Iron Man any more. Like he says in the prison, once people see that, then more will come after him.
@6:58 When Tony is looking into the mirror, he actually isn't. The scene was filmed with a body double (who had his back to the camera). The giveaway is Tony's breast pocket. If that was truly a reflection, his pocket would have been on the other side. As the camera moves past the body double, the double merely steps away so that the camera can continue moving in on Tony for his closeup. Brilliant direction by Jon Favreau (who also plays Happy Hogan).
"Elon, how's it going? Those Merlin engines are fantastic." I guess I never picked up on it but that remark makes me think that Stark Industries used SpaceX rockets to launch its space stuff (The drone satellite in Spiderman: Far From Home, for example).
fun fact if anyone else didn't already mention it. The kid in the iron man helmet that Tony saves at the expo, confirmed to be a young Peter Parker before becoming Spiderman

For completeness you should consider watching the Marvel's One-Shots, one of which is a great one called 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer.' 'The Consultant' and 'Item 47' are also good, as is 'Agent Carter' but that one isn't canon.
hi Colette that was a fun reaction. I think you should watch The Hulk because you'll enjoy it. If someone doesn't want to watch the reaction they can just skip right? 😊
@@ColetteCherry Speaking is Captain America, in The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner volunteered on an experiment that was meant to make him resistant to radiation only to realize that he participated on a “Super Soldier Program” that Steve Rogers had (but with Gamma instead of Vita).
If you want to know his origin story I would recommend watching The Incredible Hulk so you can better understand why he's an important character to the MCU, although he was played by Edward Norton at first, Mark Rufflalo plays the Hulk for the rest of the series especially on the upcoming Disney+ show She Hulk. Also without spoiling anything for you and I'm not saying that you should but if you don't watch it, there will be a couple of characters that are going to appear agian in later movies. Who knows you might like the Hulk, I'm not saying it's the best MCU movie but in my opinion it's rewatchable.
Interesting choice to do this 2nd (I vote yes on Hulk, by the way. It's not the strongest member of the MCU, but it is still a fun movie). At 28:14 you mentioned how much you're going to enjoy finding the Easter Eggs scattered through the movies, well the Marvel One Shot's would definitely be something you'd enjoy. There are only a few for the first few movies, and one that follows this is "Something Funny Happened on the way to Thor's Hammer", and is only a few minutes long. It might have made for a nice piece of bonus content for your channel if you did them in addition to the movies, but they are fun even out of order. My Fav is "All Hail the King" that follows Ironman 3. I love your excitement at Scarjo's credit alone! You're gonna love her everything about her in every MCU movie she's in. Good choice. . 💯 Oh, I can't wait to see the Avengers reaction, it only gets better from there!😀
#ColetteReacts, you are so sweet. Thanks so much for uploading this awesome movie reaction. I love your anime content very much because it's so amazing, and I really enjoy watching you react to different anime series.
As you're a fan of Agent Coulson, I would recommend watching "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To Thor's Hammer". It's a short film that was originally on the Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-ray. It takes place after Iron Man 2 and before Thor. It's not required to understand anything in the MCU, just a fun little (3-4 minutes) film featuring Agent Coulson. I know it is available on Disney+, but other than the original Blu-ray, I don't know if it's available anywhere else.
You should watch fantastic 4 (the original with Jessica alba and Chris Evans) it kinda ties I to the mcu (it will more in the future tho) but it's a great marvel movie
It _is_ rather weird that Tony has to go through this whole "creating a new element" malarkey rather than just, I don't know, putting the arc reactor in the suit like it is in Rhodey's suit? _He_ doesn't have an arc reactor inside his body killing him, but he can use the suit just fine!
Colette, there have been marvel movies since the 1970s, like Dr. Strange (1978) Howard the Duck (1986) Generation X (1995) Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD (1998) Xmen (2000) Spiderman (2002) HULK (2003) Daredevil (2003) X2 (2003) Spiderman 2 (2004) Elektra (2005) Fantastic Four (2005) Xmen the Last Stand (2006) Ghost Rider (2007) Fantastic Four : Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) Spiderman 3 (2007) Xmen First Class (2011) the Amazing Spiderman (2012) the Wolverine (2013) Xmen Days of Future Past (2014) the Amazing Spiderman 2 (2014) Deadpool (2016) Xmen Apocalypse (2016) Logan (2017) Deadpool 2 (2018) Venom (2018) Dark PhoeniX (2019) the New Mutants (2020) Venom Let there be Carnage (2021) Morbius (2022)
To be fair though who hasn't built a particle accelerator to create a new element in their basement that has a panoramic view of the ocean at this point? I did it in my 5th summer house that one time ;)

Hawkeye = Hero Spiderman = Super Hero Super means they have super powers, same with Villains and Super Villains...Iron Man is a suit that give the wearer powers, which makes Iron Man a Super Hero. take other universe and you have Batman who is a hero and the Flash who is a super hero. also, I would never call Natasha a hero, unless you call all agents heroes? which ofc they might be as they do help the world lol, but what I mean is, she is following orders
the suitcase suit is so iconic, I always remember that from the animated TV series, its a really cool idea :) Sam Rockwell is really good at playing pricks :D not too bad Coco you could get into acting yourself you would make a career xD wonder when Black Widow cosplay is gonna come :D that Tony with his dad scene is really good, highlight of this movie :) nice kiss to finish it all off :D you forgot about The Incredible Hulk :P I know that one aint much of a standout Marvel movie but it came out right after the first Iron Man so its the 2nd one to watch :D this is 3rd, then Thor is 4th :) you have watched Captain's movie which is 5th and then you have Avengers which finishes Phase 1 :)

YESSSS OMG I WAS WAITING FOR THIS
Captain America's Shield? I was thinking it was a Prototype.
For completeness you should consider watching the Marvel's One-Shots, one of which is a great one called 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer.'
'The Consultant' and 'Item 47' are also good, as is 'Agent Carter' but that one isn't canon.
"She did a big...spread on Tony last year."
"And she also wrote a story."
😁
hi Colette that was a fun reaction. I think you should watch The Hulk because you'll enjoy it. If someone doesn't want to watch the reaction they can just skip right? 😊
I watched it- will be posted to RUclips end of this week (this Monday I already edited captain America)
Fun Fact: Mark Ruffalo was actually the director Louis Leterrier’s first choice for the role of Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk.
The quote "make God bleed" is from the 300 movie. Check it out
Did you watch the Incredible Hulk the post credit near end of film ties in hulk to Tony and avengers
Also, his company's weapons (the Sonic Cannons) show up in that movie.
Good choice. . 💯
Oh, I can't wait to see the Avengers reaction, it only gets better from there!😀
25:32 University Battle footage in The Incredible Hulk (Bottom right corner).
If you manage to pull Black Widow's hair, it's because she wanted you to.
As best I recall, Tony never armors up the same way twice.
#ColetteReacts, you are so sweet. Thanks so much for uploading this awesome movie reaction. I love your anime content very much because it's so amazing, and I really enjoy watching you react to different anime series.
Pay close attention to "Natalie" when Tony and Rhodey crash through the ceiling next to her and Pepper...
3:17 Fun Fact: Senator Stern is Hydra.
24:56 my favourite moment.
She can watch Agents of Shield series too
17:33 Captain America Foreshadowing
Incredible Hulk should come before Thor.
Definitely subscribing for more marvel content
I predict thirst when the hero of the hammer shows up...
my favorite thing about this movie is the suitcase suit and that we were introduced to black widow. "never take your eye off of your enemy"🤣
Apologies, but I thought it was so funny how you had such a strong reaction to Hammer saying he had his dessert flown in from San Francisco.
I never watched anything related to iron man or a enters yet I know slot about the characters
Few sequels are this good 👍
You should watch fantastic 4 (the original with Jessica alba and Chris Evans) it kinda ties I to the mcu (it will more in the future tho) but it's a great marvel movie
Be honest, you know you killed that "Is it dirty enough" line. I had to look away to avoid potential simparosis.
Iron man 2 was so -so but film was so much fun to watch and MCU series should get better enough for all of us.

U forget the Blade trilogy. That was dope
You get a strike! You missed The Incredible Hulk.
Oh, no! She's watching it out of order! You gotta watch Incredible Hulk before Iron Man 2! THE HUMANITY!! *me being overly dramatic*
If I am correct, Iron Man 2 comes first, then Hulk, and then Thor timeline-wise. I could be wrong.
@Ricardo Ortiz nah it comes between iron 1 and 2
@@birchamasprime Hence why I said “Timeline-wise”.
@Ricardo Ortiz didn't understand what you meant. But as a first time watcher she should be watching in release order
The ironman kid tony saves is peter parker
Zaddy stark
I like this movie
Looking forward to all the Marvel reactions, but watch the older Spider-man series too. Then Lord of the Rings. You have plenty to post!
To be fair though who hasn't built a particle accelerator to create a new element in their basement that has a panoramic view of the ocean at this point? I did it in my 5th summer house that one time ;)
I say watch em all.
You should react to some rock songs you have not heard before or have not wathced the video to... I suggest Acdc for those about to rock live in moscow
"get a roof." is the best line in all marvel movies to date. I almost passed out in the theatre watching.. ppl yelled at me to shut the fck up cause apparently only I think its funny :S
Is that dirty enough for you 🥰😄 . . . I was so scared for "Ironman in this one. His mind wasn't in the right place. Boom! enter "Scarlett and and the War Machine right in there to kick serious A-hole 😃 . Awesome video "Colette. Watching movies with you are dope. 💐
(Thor,Son Of Odin)26:41
20:58 Peter Parker
6:13 There's Elon Musk, aka Real life Tony Stark.
the Kid in iron man mask that tony save is said to be Peter Parker....if you dont know who that is, you will find out in later marvel movies
21:01 that kid is Tom Holland aka MCU Spider-Man
Hawkeye = Hero
Spiderman = Super Hero
Super means they have super powers, same with Villains and Super Villains...Iron Man is a suit that give the wearer powers, which makes Iron Man a Super Hero. take other universe and you have Batman who is a hero and the Flash who is a super hero. also, I would never call Natasha a hero, unless you call all agents heroes? which ofc they might be as they do help the world lol, but what I mean is, she is following orders
Of course watch HULK!? Lol It's part of the MCU. Who would ever say not to watch it??
The Incredible Hulk? Absolutely watch it.
Ang Lee's HULK? Avoid it, no MCU content.
I noticed that the University battle is referenced in Iron Man 2 25:32.
the suitcase suit is so iconic, I always remember that from the animated TV series, its a really cool idea :) Sam Rockwell is really good at playing pricks :D not too bad Coco you could get into acting yourself you would make a career xD wonder when Black Widow cosplay is gonna come :D that Tony with his dad scene is really good, highlight of this movie :) nice kiss to finish it all off :D you forgot about The Incredible Hulk :P I know that one aint much of a standout Marvel movie but it came out right after the first Iron Man so its the 2nd one to watch :D this is 3rd, then Thor is 4th :) you have watched Captain's movie which is 5th and then you have Avengers which finishes Phase 1 :)
Thor weapon
