You made 3 new spots for stuff to go, thats great! Watching this vid motivated me to finally put away my 2 week old stack of ironed laundry, yay. I'm really struggling with depression and keeping my space clean but your video is helping me so much. Each space at a time, well said. Thank you Miss Heart ♡
I'm in Australia and I rarely get mail. All my bills are electronic and any junk mail goes straight into our recycling bin. It does not make it into the house.
A couple suggestions for the mail. Getting on do not mail lists and opting out of prescreened credit card offers has helped decrease the amount of mail I get. Maybe you could take your mail to work with you and sort through it there? Great job decluttering boys!
Love opting outing! But I do disagree with taking your mail to work. She has mentioned in other videos that she has done that with other projects, and never have enough time to get through them.
I need to find those websites where I can get off mailing lists for sure!! Thank you for sharing that with me ❤️🙏🏻🌟 I did bring the mail to work a few times but never had a chance to go through it! It’s a wonderful idea and I wished it worked but we were just too busy ❤️🙏🏻❤️
@@ahoardersheart I also have a tip. Maybe have separate “mailboxes”, at least 5. One for each of your boys, one for hubby, one for you, and one for you and hubby to go through together. That could definitely lighten your load.
Years ago, I read that putting together a "to go bag" for each person in the family, a dedicated bag (backpack, luggage, something that completely closes) One days worth of clothes, and miniature toiletries, charging cables, whatever you would need for one nights stay at a hotel. Then when you do the short trips, they are ready to go. Long trips, they are a carry on incase your luggage gets lost. When you get home, you take out the dirty, and put in fresh, it's ready to go for the next trip.
"but as long as all 4 of us are very mindful about it, we'll be ok and successful" YAAAAAAAAAAAAS! I love love LOVE that you are including the boys and your husband as being a part of/responsible for this effort!! This is such an important mental shift that you've made recently, and I love it every time I hear you double down on it! I think it might be worth looking into a hall tree for your entryway. Your current storage bench is not providing what you need (as evident by the fact that your dumping ground goes somewhere else). If you had a large hall tree with storage and hooks, you might be better able to corral all of the stuff to that area. My husband and I had a little table at the front entryway for a very long time, and it just wasn't working for us - it was too small, so our stuff would end up getting parked somewhere else. I bought a hall tree and it has made a world of difference. It is our official dumping station and we know where our stuff is now (keys, purses, wallets, etc. all live there). Learning how to work with your space is important, but sometimes you need to make your space work with you and your habits, and that means trading out pieces that just aren't as functional as you would have hoped.
I would LOVE a Hall Tree but I’m not sure where to put it!! I don’t want to block the little window above the bench! Where do you think I should place it? Thank you so much for your guidance ❤️🙏🏻❤️
@@ahoardersheart Unfortunately, I can't fully see that space in this video. Would you mind posting a video of your living room showing a 360 of the whole space? I bet a lot of viewers would have great ideas for reorganizing.
@@loriluebke2412 It would definitely be a dumping ground, but the benefit is that it would be contained to a single space rather than being spread around the room.
I LOVE your landing area. Pinterest pictures usually do not feel real. Your spaces do. They look like joy and everyday life and sometimes a bit of a struggle and so, so creative. Don't feel you have to present perfect. You are doing so so great!
You are such an inspiration , you do so well 💖🦄🤗 I would maybe re-arange the furniture? So that when you open the door the first thing you see is a tidy dining table. I would create a "drop zone" on the right by the door and put the shelf unit there. There I would also store the mail. On the mailbox put a sign with "no unadressed letters and advertisment". Take what you earn per hour, and calculate the time you spend going through your mail, how much money you loose. You will see it is not worth to keep coupons.
Awe, thank you so so much!!! I know if I’m hard on myself, then so many people feel the same way about themselves. I don’t want us to struggle with those negative self thoughts anymore ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Working as many hours that you do, the drop and go is totally understandable. But look what an affect your habits and diligence has had on your boys- the structures are in place for them help in their own!!
Great job! I always think it’s odd that American homes have front doors that open straight into living rooms. Without a hallway, it’s more difficult to have a home for shoes and bags and coats when you come in.
Since your cube shelving across from the front door collects so much, so quickly, would you consider relocating it? I know it's useful, but it seems to lower your mood when it's the first thing you see as you enter the house. I would also stand it up tall so there is less surface area for just putting things down as you walk past. My other thought is that you could have some of those cube baskets as your 'drop and go' zone. Anything you need to put it down and run to the next thing, can go in there and then you have a limit to how much can get out there without being dealt with. I'm thinking of 'the container concept' from another RUclipsr (sorry, I'm forgetful with names)
(Container Concept from Dana K. White, A Slob Comes Clean ;) ) + I think that's a great idea -- hadn't thought of it before, but I like it, to stand up the cubed shelving + all sorts of good ideas @Nicole H :)
I love how you get in touch with your feelings, analyze them, decide what isn't working for you and then proceed to change what you think you can change and what will help you. Along the way, you take your family and anyone else who can open themselves to listen and watch you. Way to go.
Mabye instead of putting the mail there, you could grab it right when you come home from work and then take it with you to soccer practice and go through it there and then once you get home just throw it away or put it where it needs to go! Just an idea! ❤❤
Maybe If you guys don't use that bench you have inside by the front door, you can hang up hooks there instead. You could hang up your laptop bag, your son's soccer bag, whatever!
Woo hoo!! Great job! You are getting closer to creating homes for the things that go in and out of your house everyday. You need to make it as easy to put away as it is to leave it out (like the new spot for your lap top bag!) Keep up your fantastic work!
YES!!! I agree with John Smith. Make a conscience decision to NEVER place a bag down. Bags are your nemesis. I hope you make the decision to remove toys completely from your living room. and redefine their home to basement or kids rooms The KEY is to stop making excuses...ADD, ANXIETY, OCD, LMNOP...I work etc. Everyone works, not everyone has the mess. I have anxiety at times, but not the clutter. YOU GOT THIS... Also, do you have a man door to your garage? I would suggest (if you do) that you begin using that as your main entrance instead of your front door. This way, bags like soccer, your work bag, back packs etc can be hung on hooks outside your entrance into the house. Put a coat rack next to the door in garage and cut down on the visible clutter in your living space
I always have to remind myself that it’s progress, not perfection! I just gotta say i- I just love you girl! Your positive attitude is infectious and i'm here for it. Your videos inspire me to make life and home better for my family as well. Decluttering and "fluffing the nest" is an act of love for sure, Rock on Miss Heart
I hardly have bills come in the mail now. I do paperless. And if I get some junk mail, I take my name and address off right as I look at it and toss it into our recycling bin next to our kitchen trash. I mostly get junk emails from where I'm on a coupon list.
I see the evolution of your spaces. You are creating a life that you are living now. You are in the present. This video really shows your growth and is extremely motivating to watch. Wow, you are amazing!!!!
I can really relate to the problem of things just dumped when you walk in. I’m not actually guilty myself but the rest of the family need constant reminders. “Don’t put it down, put it away “. You did a great tidy up and declutter today. It will be so nice to come home to.
I think you can remove the white marker with nail polish remover or acetone. I'm so glad you share your journey. I already decluttered 2 cupboards. I couldn't deckuttered anything for years.
A great game board idea too. I just recently did this with all the games I have here for my grands. I purchased waterproof document bags off of amazon (seen on a youtube video from "This Crazy Life" WHOLE HOUSE CLEAN WITH ME 2021 + NEW HOUSE PROJECTS & DECORATING at the 19:37 mark) Now all my games fit into less than 1/3 of the space they previously did. I did the colored bags so they can easily find the game they want. BEST THING EVER.
There are so many sites where you can sign up for no junk mail. These sites you can eliminate junk mail and magazines. Also call places to get your name off their mail list! I took 6 months and called and signed up and my mail is 95% junk mail free!
Bravo on continuing to refine the system for the living room! Good for you clearing out toys and dealing with the hot spot table! 👏🥳🌈🦄🏆Don’t know if this will work for you, but when I bring in the mail, I deal with it IMMEDIATELY. Junk mail and flyers to recycling (if I really want a flyer I can find it online), bills in a drawer for unpaid bills with the due date written on them in large print, and any invitations (rare) read and date put on calendar. A bit of work, but icky mail build-up is zero!
Try to keep in mind that once your mail basket is full it needs to be emptied.🥰 the point of the basket is to contain the clutter to one spot and not to create piles arround it. 🥰I have a tray at my front door and when it fills I take a few mins to empty it out.
Looks great! 💕 I never let the junk mail and turn my house or it will land on the hotspot and live there forever. After I get the mail out of the mailbox I go directly through the recycle bin toss everything that’s junk mail and only taking the bills and letters. This really helps!
Sometimes if there is a task that needs done regularly I put it in my way on purpose so it gets done, for example putting mail in the middle of the table so I have to deal with it every day when I set the table for dinner.
Are there types of mail that you always recycle no matter what? Maybe if you have any system like that, you could share it with hubby so he can go through and pull them out to keep the pile down. That way you know he's only getting rid of what you don't want, and having the rule helps him be more comfortable with helping out. Hopefully something like that could work, but I get it if you need to look through everything just in case 😊
Hello from Germany, hi miss heart, cross the big ocean..... I declutter toys too this week, and the baby is growing out her cloths, that we declutter too, good Job be safe🦄
I'm so glad you took back some of your space! Great job getting the boys involved. And, so glad you have a drop zone basket now! You having one for filming stuff and one for everyday drops/storage is perfect! The kids having one a piece is enough! Fantastic job, Mrs. HEART! XO
I watched your session for Get Organized HQ2021 and was so proud of you! You did an excellent job of explaining hoarding disorder and gave such great solutions on working towards recovery and being able to declutter. I think you reached a lot of people who were feeling hopeless, and gave them hope. Thank you for reaching out to help so many. You are the best! 💜🦄
This is great! I am a big offender when it comes to leaving bags everywhere - bags full of stuff, literally put into other bags full of stuff 😂 When I finally empty them all out I'm like are you kidding me. I also struggle with the mail even though I declutter it the second it comes in; there is always some cool thing or another that I keep even though its likely I won't use it. When I get coupons that I don't know whether I'll use I put them in the car or on the fridge so they're visible at all times, same for event schedules/ concerts. I used to have a good habit of getting up in the morning, making coffee, and washing the dishes while drinking my coffee; it could work well for decluttering bags or clearing the kitchen table if you have any time (probably not as a working mom :P) You are doing so awesome and stuff like this is never a regression, its just normal for stuff to accumulate in a busy house! Loving your videos every week :)
I bought a wreath ring today made out of wicker for $2 from our Habitat for humanity shop at my towns local dump when I saw it I thought of your channel and got inspired to make one myself I will have to get flowers to put on it though ❤
Feel like a closed storage solution would be a good option, also habits that everyone should follow like where to put their bags when walk in, also there are different organization solutions to make board games compact and would give you so much space and less clutter
Great Job! I'd move the mail dumping spot. I put mine on my desk, but I think you have paperwork in the kitchen? I'd put your mail basket there and put a small paper recycling bin beside it. It will keep your table for family meals free and give you a way to sort it quickly. I never look at catalogues anymore, I hardly get them, and any that I do get go in the recycling bin before I even come through the front door. I sometimes open the mail near the recylcing bin and much of it doesn't make it's way into the house (envelopes and junk mail)
I’m sure u have chalkboard paint iv seen hun u could just trait tags save h getting more your all doing so well and even if it does get a little messy (hot spot) it’s still not 90 percent bad as when u started so always be proud of how far u have come 🥰

Great job! Every thing has its home ❤🍂🍁
Thank you so so much 🦄💜🌟🙏🏻
I see the evolution of your spaces. You are creating a life that you are living now. You are in the present. This video really shows your growth and is extremely motivating to watch. Wow, you are amazing!!!!
👏👏👏😍😍😍 It looks so good and functional!!!
I am trying hard to get my craft room decluttered and rearranged and organized. Frustrated , but I keep at it a little at a time. Wish me luck!
I can really relate to the problem of things just dumped when you walk in. I’m not actually guilty myself but the rest of the family need constant reminders. “Don’t put it down, put it away “.
You did a great tidy up and declutter today. It will be so nice to come home to.
Great job…Hershey was an awesome idea! 😍
You have come such a long way. Kuddos to you!
The Minimal Mom dose a great toy decluter.
You are doing great! Yes, you really need a RUclips basket. :) I'm glad that you are claiming some of the space for yourself.
Hello from Québec Canada. Love to watch your channel
Loved this episode! Well done!! :)
Great job! I love how real you are. :-)
Because the bags end up in front of the shelf, maybe you could swap that shelf with the bench because that’s where they are supposed to do?
You are sooo right... great video🤩
Congratulations 👏 you did a great job ❤🦄
This was AWESOME
Looks great! 💕
I never let the junk mail and turn my house or it will land on the hotspot and live there forever.
HEART! XO
Try the magic eraser on the blackboard tags. It is the only thing that works for me. Good luck 👍
THANK YOU!!!
December 2023. Don't shop. Food and necessary items only. We've never bought souvenirs at all. I save entrance tickets. Tina, Al's wife
I’m sure u have chalkboard paint iv seen hun u could just trait tags save h getting more your all doing so well and even if it does get a little messy (hot spot) it’s still not 90 percent bad as when u started so always be proud of how far u have come 🥰
Yes I do have black chalk paint…I couldn’t find it in the bins 😅 Lol Once I find it we could paint over it! Thank you so so much ❤️🙏🏻❤️
@@ahoardersheart you’re bound to find it in an upcoming craft declutter. Just like the microphones, it’s sure to reappear soon enough 😁
No shame I fell back too
Absolutely beautiful 😊❤️you are a
rock star
You are such an inspiration to me! I so needed this, especially the words you spoke at the end. Thank you! ❤️
Thank you for posting and your hard work🥰So encouraging and you are really busy...blessings from NZ🥰❣👍
Could you show us some of your notebooks and binders? Your no-spend BUJO's are so creative - do you have other notebooks you could share with us? Do you keep a daily planner? A house cleaning journal? You mention your ADHD frequently, but I've heard that list making is a huge help to keeping things organized, and out of a spinning brain! Thank you!!
Suggestions for sorting mail…Dana K. White, A slob comes clean, recently did a video on sorting mail. Utilizing a “Sunday Basket”, the minimal mom has a video on the basket idea. Go paperless on everything you can to stop the papers from entering your home.
All 3 of these used together will eliminate the paper clutter piles. Thanks for sharing your journey.
wow, well done! I am so proud of you
There's a whole new vibe to your videos lately and I love it. Also, I love watching your videos it's very calming.
What an amazing transformation. Good for you.
Well done
