      We've hardly scratched the surface in Clare. Must get up to Tory Island for a Balor video in the new year. 👁

    Informative and fun… really nice job of telling folks about County Clare in a fun way… well organized…. And great job writing out the how the areas are spelled so further research can be done. Will definitely use your info for trip planning.

    Regarding Cratloe Woods, the majority of the forest has been replaced by non native conifers by Coillte, sadly. Few patches of old oak remain but tis mostly gone

    • @balorotherworld5810

      It's such a shame all over we have lost most of our most native forests. I have found myself on more than 1 occasion getting lost in the Cratloe hills. Hopefully more native trees are brought back up there

      Agreed, there are still beauty underneath it all, the people, all our ancestors of the West Coast, I wish I knew more, was able to explore, love, pass on to our future. They deserve to from the best, all beautiful people, Kind, wise, talented, intelligent, Real people who know these parts like no one else in this world... 👁️💯💚👁️🇮🇪👁️💚💯👁️👁️🇮🇪

      Those trees kill the soil and nothing grows at ground level. Conifers are the worst, Coilte is horrendous for planting those bloody things.

      @@balorotherworld5810 I'm over 60 and my roots, my Grands, my cousins are all West Coast, not saying anything bad, because it is beautiful in Dublin, the history, the vibe is for younger folks. I just know when I walked my Grandpa's Land , Cottage, from 250 yrs + with my Cousin; First time in my life was grounded, loving where I stood, didn't want to ever leave. So so spiritual, love, can't explain it in words.... I want to be there every minute is how I can explain my feelings than and now.. 👀💯💚🍀🇮🇪💚🫂💚💯💚🇮🇪🍀

    How did you get to that Abbey? We just tried and about 3 signs on the gate No Entry, Bull in field etc so we gave up :(

    • @tommylanigan4721
      @tommylanigan4721 3 года назад +1

      Really? There is a water treatment plant I park beside and walk through the gate. I have never seen a bull in the field, it might be for insurance purposes that the signs are there. Its about 15min walk from the gate to the Abbey.
      Hope you got to visit somewhere else instead

      @@balorotherworld5810 its a shame there is no legal access to it, ruins like that should be treated like national treasures not blocked by some farmers. Feeling too old for trespassing 😥😅& escaping bulls

      @@mayagame I can promise in over 20 years I never met a farmer or a bull 😀 I think public access is allowed anyway, it's under the OPW.
      Yeah you used be able to go into the crypt, now only my skinny friends can fit with the gates 🤪
