I got a question. How is the performance with ubisoft connect games as well as gog, epic games, EA or battlenet?
I read that because of the shaders on steam, the steam versions run a lot better but that supposedly from Steam OS 3.5 going forward the differences would be minimal.
Do you have any experience with that?
Are you using heroic for gog and epic?
God damn it dude. I was trying to avoid using anything from ubisoft but if you're just gonna explain everything and make it so simple.... then you leave me no choice but to play the division.
Did you ever get The Division to load? I’m stuck in EAC boot loop purgatory. (To whomever just liked my comment - I ended up downloading Ubisoft Connect and Division 2 inside Lutris). A much easier solution that works.

good... you should also try some linux desktop gaming tutorials or maybe some gaming linux distros reviews with some benchmarks every now and then... you make it look so easy.
after installing the launcher, i cannot find the z:/games folder anymore. It doesn't appear automatically in the browse window for me, so I cannot find the launcher.exe and add it. In fact, I just cannot find anything ubisoft that I just installed anywhere on the deck...

Will doing this allow for Cloud Saving at all? I installed Watch_Dogs 2 on my Steam Deck and launched it via Steam (not through Ubisoft Connect), but when jumping onto PC, any progress I'd made on Steam Deck didn't appear to have been saved in the cloud (I've checked cloud saves are enabled on both Steam and Ubisoft Connect)

Do i have to anything extra for games with Anti Cheat like division 2, it keeps bringing up new anti cheat launchers each time and wont open the game

Hey! The only change would be when downloading a game, choose the SD card location instead :D

Oo thanks, i was wondering how to get the little image on my library lol got it to launch, any idea on how to get prince of persia warrior within to work? I did the pop2.ini fix, have ubisoft connect set up and i customized the controllers too but i get the Unknown AMD processor error that won't let me lunch the game 😢
Pop worrior within is fully compatible if you buy it through Steam, I know it sucks to rebuy it goes on sale every few months for about 1-2 dollars but it works flawlessly you can enable FSR and use stretch through the performance tab in the steam deck and it will look amazing be full screen and run at 60/90 fps depending on steam deck model

Doesn't work properly for me. I can install the launcher and download the game...but when I launch it says I need to install uplay and connect even though ubisoft connect is installed
Tbf having done more on this it just seems to be *certain* uplay games. Rayman origins for instance is fine but legends is a pain.

Cuz Ive seen videos of people playing siege on steam deck, tho dk if they acc been running it on steam OS. I woulda been enormously grateful if u woulda helped m wit clarifying that. Hey! Not possible to play Siege on linux due to the anticheat blocking it. At least right now for Siege you need windows unfortunately 😵💫

Hey! The anti-cheat won't allow us to play on SteamOS, but it would work if windows is installed on Deck
I get a easy anticheat screen when trying to play division 2. Won't run
They don't say that with these 3rd party launchers which is pointless to even make these vids. Your basically wasting your time installing these launchers on the deck when you'll only be able to play like 2games when everything else is locked behind easy anti cheat.
Do i need a mouse or a keyboard to play? Because in the menu i have difficulty with touchscreen
No need for keyboard and mouse, but makes it easier, try adding a controller profile for gaming mode so the track pad acts as a mouse

I wonder if you can help me.. I followed all your steps and was able to successfully install Ubisoft connect. I then downloaded some of my games but when I click to play them they load up about 50% of the loading screen and then I get promoted with “Uplay account is required. Please install Uplay and sign in.” I’m already signed in on my Ubisoft account so I’m not sure what the issue is.
That usually gets fixed by restarting the app
1:56 The steam deck's touchpads don't work anymore in those explorer screens so it's impossible to navigate and click those directories. I don't have an external mouse and keyboard. Any solutions to navigate through these screens??? 🤔🤔
Oof, I would add a controller config to the ubisoft installer (like if it was a game) and add the trackpads as a mouse, before launching the installer on Steam, press on the controller icon at the right to set that up

I did it in Game mode. The textures are larger then and I could click the directory through the touchpad screen. In desktop mode it was way to small. Thanks for the reply though. 👍👍
hold the steam button and scroll and click. It happens where you just hold down the steam button.

You have to create that folder if it's not there, create a new folder and name it "Games"

Ok what about if the download goes well but you can't access your keyboard?
Hold the Steam button and press the X button, that will invoke the In-Screen Keyboard
@@SantiagoSantiago tried that multiple times and the app won't allow me to use the keyboard once I perform that action. Even closed the app then closed steam and retried it all over and still won't allow me to use my keyboard

Gamepass works on SteamOS, but only the Cloud Gaming part of it
Or just get a Windows based handheld....I'll close the door behind me 😁
Or install windows on the Deck, that's also an option, we need official dual boot support from Valve for most people to try it :D
