The garden looks awesome!! Soon it will be growing fast! 🌿💚🌻 Thanks for keeping Jack in the video. .ohmygosh couldn't be any cuter! Looking forward to seeing the cottage project.. thanks for the sneak peek! Jami, changing the plans 8 times will make it perfect lol! No worries on doing that!❤
HEY ZEB put layers and layers of cardboard and newspaper with mulch on top over the grass around your shrubs it will suppress the grass and break down into beautiful soil I do this all the time in my garden it also helps to retain moisture, I live in Australia in a drought area and it works a treat👍🏻
It’s great for some types of grass and weeds, but it won’t work for the rhizome type grass, it eats cardboard for lunch! That stuff will grow through potatoes, peony roots, anything.
@@jeannet9592 It helps for a lot of weeds, but not the type of grass Zeb is dealing with. I tried the cardboard/thick mulch and it has grown back stronger than ever.
Jack cracks me up😂 Love watching you guys it's so interesting your property is so nice love the rocks I'm from Ohio it's been cool here today was finally warm and humid u guys take care❤ Send that Arch my way 😊
The grounds are looking great !--- yup , gardening is hard work but once things get established , it gets better . You two always have multiple big projects going -- amazing !! ( the rest of us just sit & watch !)
Thank you for the updates!! Because of you I’m thinking of planting Cosmos in my garden. I just need to gigure our some shrubs for the rest of the year. I have a tiny front yard cleared of old old perennials that were dying out.
Hi , Leslie , .... you'll have some beautiful flowers to look at soon -- there's something so soothing& calming in being surrounded by nature -- it just grows & produces beauty all by itself ... 😊 see you later tonight -- but I do have a concert to go to !
You should take out sapling oak trees on your property and start planting them where you would like shade for picnics…do it when they are dormant in early winter, they are so beautiful❤the land is beautiful❤️
I have a couple volunteer oaks we found in the yard at the shop. I don’t know how they’ll do at the property without irrigation but if I can get them to establish a little this winter with all the snow they might do good. Hoping to find a place for them out there this fall.
The garden is looking wonderful! I love the CENTER COURT around the fig tree. My Dad planted Concord grapes probably 40 years ago, they have managed to climb up all our cedar trees, they are climbing up our NEIGHBORS HOUSE 😬 and they are making their way to our front lawn !! Sad part is ALL THE GRAPES are to high to pick! One year ( over the 20 years my husband and I have been living here) did we get to pick them and make incredible jelly! I love Concord grapes. My Dad always had Delphiniums Jami and they were that incredible blue like you have. I wish I had inherited my Dad’s green thumb. He had wonderful flower beds and delicious vegetables gardens. He loved gardening and building ( Zeb makes me think of my Dad… his mannerisms, his gentleness, his patience, his teaching the kids… etc… Can’t wait for the Demo 💪 Looking good you tow !! 🥰🥰
@@kaihandren9309 Hello Kai ! The Wedding plans are coming together well! This weekend and next are the only ones we have before the Wedding ( Friday Night Wedding) The Bride and her girls have taken a weekend get away…LOL!!! We checked on decor ideas once again yesterday…so drive to the venue… set up the outdoor decor…got the OKAY from the Bride by e-mail, then dismantled it all! LOL!!! Being the “Grandmother of Bride” I thought I could bypass all that !!!! LOL!!!! But I love planning and decorating ❤️ THANK YOU for asking ! Pray all is good with you!
Awww! Your grapes sound amazing. Zeb didn’t want to get them because he said they would take over the garden. Sounds like he was right!I’m excited. We’ll build more arches and run it all the way down the garden! ❤️❤️
I'm in Idaho & my Garden is behind as well, it was just a cold spring this year. Yes, I planted a delphinium last year & it came back this year so your should as well. They are so pretty. Your gardens are going to be so beautiful in a couple of years. I love the new arch too. I am excited for the cottage reno, I miss your reno's. I am so glad you started this new channel for all this fun stuff.
Here in Louisana I always fill my holes for roses, trees, and scrubs with water 3 times before planting to help them get watered in good. Try it it works great here.
You can put some of your straw under your strawberry bushes so that the new strawberries don’t rot on the ground…I live on a farm and have a 2500square meter veg garden and was a landscaper for 20 years…your garden looks amazing! ❤
Looking great!mulching with cardboard and newspaper will discourage the grass from growing where you don’t want it. Biodegradable too. You guys have a beautiful garden and I look forward to seeing more of it and your gorgeous acreage in the mountains.
I had to tie pantyhose around my grapes 25 yrs ago cuz birds kept getting my grapes and an armadillo tried to dig my vines up. But I caught him and grabbed his tail so he couldn’t go deeper. It was a struggle to get him out of hole. Y’all are so lucky to have rain. Wednesday it was 120 in shade on my deck. Southwest Texas is really hot but I keep watering and complaining.😀🙄
I think your soil is alkaline like mine here in Idaho. If so, you wouldn’t want to add lime, that would make it even more alkaline. Good compost, peat moss and rabbit manure, if you can get it, would be good additions.
Oh Bermuda grass 😩 we had it in Eastern Oregon! That stuff is NASTY! It will travel under asphalt and pop up! It has even been known to pop up in the middle of a living room, through the carpet! I had to use a dry wall saw to cut through it after wrapping around and around and…my flower bed liner! Your place is looking AMAZING and with the other 92 million things you have going on it is IMPRESSIVE how much you have done! Oh to be younger again 😂❤
PREEN and GREEN is a fantastic product. After you've weeded, sprinkle a bit in the desired area and it provides both fertilizer AND prevents new germination aka weeds
We actually contemplated that when we initially put this fence up because it used to have a white vinyl fence that was kind of falling apart but everyone in the neighborhood has chain-link like this, and you can see through all the pretty yards so we decided to go with the chain-link
We love ours! We have one in our house we remodeled. It does 11 gallons of hot water per minute and we never run out with 7 people living in the house. We can run 3 showers, the dishwasher and washing machine at the same time and we always have hot water.
That rhizome grass is the worst! It took over my raspberry bed and I finally just moved them a long ways away. Now bindweed is invading them! Ergh! My two worst enemies in the garden.
Can tell you guys aren’t from Utah originally. Just an fyi trying to grow blueberries in Utah is really a waste of time and money. Our soil and water are so alkaline they just won’t do well. No matter how much you try to acidify the soil every time you water it will negate any acid you added unless you use bottled water. You’d be much better off planting service berries which do really well here.
The blueberries out performed the raspberries and blackberries last year. I was really impressed. We like to try things even if people say they won’t work. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t.
Zeb sweet talking your cow is the cutest thing! ❤
Haha! You can’t stop it, she’s the chillest cow I’ve ever been around
Hollyhocks would be a nice addition to your garden. 🌸

@jamiandzeb oh! Yes that's really her gift!! She's super talented that way!!
I'm living out my dream garden through y'all. lol
How beautiful 😍
Can’t wait for demo day! Loving all the gardens. Jealous that your cosmos ❤️comes back every year. In Minnesota, that doesn’t happen.

The garden's look great even now before the plants fill out. Gotta get me some Delphinium. Those were so pretty and impressive!
I love the delphinium but they challenge me. The stalks are fragile so careful when you transplant them

The garden is great. The archway looks perfect there framing the tree in the centre and creating a beautiful entrance.
Thanks! It’s been so fun. 🤞🤞 now if those plants would just take off lol.

My family farmed alfalfa in Central California. Alfalfa honey is the best!
Sweet buttercup!
You really should grab some peat moss for all your plants. It really helps hold the moisture in…😊

Were your gardens in the above ground beds last year ,too? I can't remember.
We planted rows directly in the ground but it was sectioned off by a gravel path
Do u guys do chicken manure tea for ur garden? I love usin it
We haven’t yet but if we need a boost we may need to.
Can I grow hollyhock indoors
They’re typically grown outdoors but I’ve seen people start them from seed indoors in the winter

I can’t remember what brand it is. I’ll look at it later today
Looking good! The delphinium are beautiful. Don't let Buttercup or the sheep eat it. It is poisonous.
Good to know!
