      You start with 7. Its 100% because *all* your bananas you have are there. If you had 6 bananas, it wouldnt be 100 because you dont have 7.
      Question:
      You have 6 bananas. You ate 3. What is the percentage?
      Working: Ok. So the amount of bananas I ate is 3. So I have to put 3. And then divide is :. Now I have to put that in, then the total amount of my bananas, which is 6.
      3:6
      But then I have to times by 100.
      3 ÷ 6 × 100% = 0.5%

  • @bethdibartolomeo2042
    @bethdibartolomeo2042 5 лет назад +16

    I never got to learn percents in school, but I did figure out how to do it on pen and paper. My parents could both do it in their heads, but I was never that lucky. For percentage off (when it comes to sales) I eventually figured out I can take the original number times the percentage as a decimal point, then take the result (rounded to the nearest 100th if possible) and subtract it from the original price. So a sweater normally 39.99 at 25% off would be 39.99 x .25 = 9.9975, and 39.99-9.99 = 30. Yes, I did it with pen and paper.

    Task #6
    75% of 300
    You can use this method
    Using multiplication.
    Example:
    3x1 = 3
    300x10%=30
    3x2 = 6
    300x20%=60
    3x3 = 9
    300x30%=90
    Task#6
    75% of 300
    3x7= 21 or 300x70%=210
    3x.05 (half of 3)= 1.5
    21+1.5=22.5
    Answer in hundreds: 225

    Task 1 second part is wrong. You need to divide 4 to 6 which is 2 to 3 so when you multiply it by 100 it is 66

    I always parallel it to the dollar by averaging, it's much faster. Imagine a 1.34 dollar soda and a 2 for the dollar deal.
    Just average it and it's simple to solve
