I bought a N80 at a yard sale for only $ 5 and your right, it's good camera. Not all the bells and whistles of it's big brothers but it takes great pictures.
This and the N/F 90x are both great value and fun cameras. Thanks for the video! I found my F80 for $36.00. Did I need it, heck no, did I buy it, heck yes!!
Another Nikon film camera I'll have to keep my eyes open for..my collection of film Nikons keeps growing (along with other brands as well, but Nikon is my main one ) but I dont mind..collecting and using vintage film cameras is fun...plus we're rescuing them as well..thats my excuse anyway...lol
I love my F80. Such a wonderful camera to carry around. Got mine on eBay for $40. Turns out the plastic door latch was broken, so I ended up getting the camera for free. Seller let me keep it since returning a $40 camera to Japan wasn't worth while. I found a brand new back online, Got it, and swapped the circuitry out into the new one. The camera is like brand new again as the rest of the body was pristine. TP Originals sells nice leather half cases for the F80 and F100.
Beside the N80, I wonder if the F501 is also decent option for film photography beginners (which typically a DSLR/mirrorless user). Unlike the N80, it meters fine with all manual lenses (except pre-AI). Of course, not fully compatible with AF-S G lenses, can only use AF-D lenses. Got mine less than $30, and probably one of my best deals on Nikon SLR body.
I have a pair of the older Nikon N8008 models (N8008 & N8008s). I am told they are more solid than the N80. They also accept manual focus lenses, although I've only used AF lenses on them, which are cheap, plentiful, and outstanding. The AF Nikkor 50mm 1.8d is one such lens.
Ken - One of my DSLR Fuji S2Pro is base on the model Nikon N80, as I am happy with, only had 6 Pixels, but it can shoot RAW at 12pixels, as I also got the F100, and the Fuji S3Pro, and then the S5Pro, all say Made in Japan.... Thank You
Bought a used 8008s on eBay a year or so ago on eBay for about $40. I think it is somewhat similar to N80. I still like using it. Good camera for slide film given the matrix metering, aperture priority etc. Marries well with the inexpensive 50mm f1.8 AF lens.

You're keeping them alive, yes! Good work!
The F2 and FM2 are my favorite to use.

Sweet deal. And I bet that leather case feels good.

Sure, all these are fine shooters!!
Very similar to my Canon Elan 7NE. It was Canon’s last prosumer film SLR. Many of these bodies were rarely used before people switched to DSLR.
Right, why they're good to snap up.

I never liked the way the N8008s felt in my hand. The N80 is tolerable.
I have the F80 and like it. I have only used a 50mm on it. Maybe I should look at other lenses. Who knows eh?
If you find a 35mm f2, get it.
@@kennethwajda OK, thanks Kenneth.

I remember those. Cool.

Right. Sure does. I don't like the grip on that one, because I like bigger handgrips. But it's a solid camera.

Can you use a jewelers screwdriver to open it?
