Great advice EB!! We get the “just pay your bill or get what you can afford” crowd but sometimes things happen.

Pay the freaking bill on time and if you can't pay the bill, don't get the vehicle that you can't afford.

Financial situations change unexpectedly all the time. Don’t judge people based on an overly optimistic hypothetical scenario that you’ve created. Real like is messy, if you’ve experienced differently then you’re the exception.

If you can't pay your note anymore or REFI, TURN it back in! It will be WAY LESS EXPENSIVE to just give the vehicle back. If it goes to auction and they get less than what you owe, they ADD THAT to the note balance! Also the hook fee, storage fees, auction fees, statutory interest...that's on you. DON'T bust up the vehicle...it's going to auction anyway. The banks don't care, and you can't hurt their feelings.

Damn good advice Eben, most lending institutions would rather have a debtor trying to make payments than to have to send a repo truck out to get the asset, just make the phone calls and try to work with the lender

Great advice bro!!! I used to work in recovery for GMAC. And as long as people were communicating with us and acting in good faith, we worked with them and tried to help. No one wants a car repossessed including the lender. Everyone looses expect the repo man.

This is all very useful information! Some on here don’t realize that it isn’t ALWAYS because you bought a vehicle that’s out of your means yet hard times have happened to us all these last few years. Call your lender just like he’s saying. You can’t run from your debt it will catch up with you!
Bless you all in 2024 ☮️

    Hello GOAT!
Great advice. however, let me say, I drive a BEAST of a car… its a 2009 … Ive taken care of it…last week I hit 200,000 miles!!! (how many people can make that claim!??) There is no shame in driving an older car! If you take care of it… it will take care of you!!! AND guess what? NO PAYMENTS here…she was totally paid off…years ago😂!!!
The only way you will come after my car will be when she finally kicks the bucket for good…til then.. NO BILLS..NO FEAR OF GOATS!!😂😂😂❤

I feel you. My ride's a 2006. Less insurance $, less license plate $. Gas mileage sucks, no digital anything, some repairs. Still saved thousands cuz no $$ payments. Whether it's high shine or old paint, it gets you there the same.

  • @trex1448
    @trex1448 9 месяцев назад +3

    Dont lease cars.
Finance what you can afford. That means 20% of your annual income in total purchase price on top of what you can pay in cash. Total purchase price is your konthly payment price added together. You finance the $30k car for 60 month payments of $680 a month? Your purchase price is $40k. You make 100k and no cash that means you should stay under 20k for the car. You want the car for 40k you better have 20k saved ready to pay in cash and finance 20k. Dont lease and dont finance 60 months. It should be 36 months at most.
And yes that means you should save up as much cash as you can and you should buy a used car for 8k to 15k that you can drive for 10 plus years.
If youre missing payments that means you need to sell, get rid of that car and get something way cheaper.

Also, you shouldn’t feel the need to drive a new car. Look for an older used Toyota or Honda. They have a good record of reliability. Most importantly, when you get that used car, treat it well by changing the oil regularly and keeping up with basic maintenance. You can drive a Toyota Corolla for years and years if you maintain it properly.

NEVER BUY A CAR WORKOUT PAYMENTS FOR MORE THAN 5 YEARS!!!
if you can't pay the car off in 5 years, you can't afford the car. Any payments that last more than 5 years, you are fucking yourself over and paying more than what the car is worth.

    Before I even watch ..
    1) Pay the damn bill you said you could pay when you signed them papers 😂
    2) Set up a payment plan if you can’t pay the bill
    3) You got 3 damn months of back owe before they snatch your car… if they snatch it you was loaf’n and had no intention of paying what was owed , so oh well if Eb get it 🤷🏾‍♀️🤣

Here’s a big tip.. know what your payment will be out the box.. don’t assume you can make the payments because it’s often to late and you have signed the deal. Don’t get into a vehicle you can’t afford.. I know it’s nice to have nice things but what is even shittier is having those nice things repossessed 🤷‍♂️

don't try to love beyond your means, meaning stop getting vehicles that you know for a fact that you can't afford to pay for. get a car that's based on a monthly payment that you can actually afford. ignoring the calls from the banks isn't going to save you from making your payments. if anything that will drive them to repossess the car.
