What an amazing detailed summary of sharks . It's very impressed. Got the point: not white or transparent thins, or suits, first to check if the shark is full , eaten recently and most importantly to have a buddy, who would be willing to swim before you. Otherwise Pot Jackson shark is the most unique to look at, preferably on the screen.

    • @OceanPancake
      @OceanPancake  4 месяца назад

Port Jackson sharks are quite small, they're around 1m maximum. I'm sure you'd love to see one :)

I had a 250lb Harbor seal scare the 💩 out of me while fishing on my kayak. Couldn’t imagine what I would do if its a shark 🦈 😅

Harbour seals can be possessive and potentially aggressive. I think all wildlife needs to be seen with a tiny bit of fear and a lot of respect

In the Red Sea off Egypt is Elphinstone Reef, where you can see Oceanic Whitetips all the time. If you follow the precautions, it’s perfectly safe. You stay together, go vertically and face any curious Longimanus.

@@OceanPancake We‘ve had two close encounters with the same shark. Great experience. When it was quite nearby, one of us kicked unintentionally his fin in the sharks direction. It closed its eye with the extra lid and turned away immediately. Their actually pretty easily scared by scuba divers. Still, they deserve respect - for more than one reason. 😉

I love most sharks, but those who live close to home (Norway) are my favorites. The Greenland shark is actually a really slow moving shark, but it is huge though so kinda scary haha. We do have a lot of Spiny dogfish which I find adorable, and some porbeagle sharks from time to time. They are not as commonly known about as other sharks, but they deserve all the love.❤

I was on my 8th dive ever on the Sunshine Coast (4 of them my PADI training dives) and I saw a great white 🤯 I was NOT ready, lol. In water experience was fine (it checked us out and kept swimming) but it scared me off diving for a year until I could process it. We'd seen lots of whales on the surface interval, and I believe the whites follow them into and out of Queensland, so be mindful of them here during whale season.
Favourite shark encounter happened last year while diving on my first ever seamount, in Papua New Guinea. A beautiful grey reef shark just cruising along the deep drop off, on a very remote and beautiful reef ❤
Love the video, you have reminded me there are so many sharks I still want to see!

As you love sharks so much, it makes me think you're a sharks too. 😜
I know sharks could maybe be dangerous, I would guess some little bit more then others, so I wonder how would you rank them.
I would rank them from: best for first dive with sharks to experts only.
As you may know from dogs: Labrador are the most forgiving, so they would never Bit you even if you annoying them. So I guess there are sharks, which are better for first time shark diving then others.

    • @OceanPancake

Sadly I don't have a favorite , but I like the Mako, well all the blue sharks looks great. I guess a true favorite you would get If you got the chance to dive with them.
I look so much forward to get the chance to dive with you, because I believe I could learn a lot about sharks from you. 👌

If you saw how a Goblin Sharks jaw extends very far forward from its head to bite its prey you wouldn't want to tickle it. Also their scraggly looking teeth.

Loved your tier choices and I honestly love all sharks , saying that I have had some wonderful / scary interactions with big Whites . My first was snorkelling off the beach and circled by a 10ft 250m all the way back to shore. The second one 14ft bumped my shoulder while I was pulling a cray out of a crack and the last one 14ft followed circling us all the way 50m back to the boat. They are an incredibly inquisitive shark and the one that bumped my shoulder made me respond like crazy and I startled it so much it raced off like I was dangerous , only time I was alone in the water too.
