If you’d like to learn more, you can read about macOS Bundles on Wikipedia. Basically, every Mac app can be extended with a loadable bundle, even if the app itself isn’t meant to work like that.
This is by far one of the best videos I've seen on improving my Notes workflow! I've switched back from Notion to Notes and have been missing the slash commands! Thank you!!
Sir, thank you for your video. I also did not know about addons. Over the past dozen years or so, I have migrated from Workflowy to Roam Research and more recently to Tana and am even considering visual focused apps like Heptabase but you really have me thinking about the Apple ecosystem. One reason is the total subscription costs but the second is about how things would probably be smoother by keeping everything within the Apple ecosystem. This video is now biasing me towards this. A request please: Perhaps a video or videos on how to coordinate the use of Notes, Freeform, Reminders, Shortcuts and Calendar to manage daily tasks, weekly (or longer) planning, note taking and larger project management. What I have found is moving from app to app, my life is actually not getting easier. There is a level of organization which I like but I want to spend less time, not more, with these (so called) productivity apps. Anyway, very much appreciate the effort in your video.
Replying to follow the status of this request. Same exact sentiment....Headng back to notes from Obsidian, notion, Capacities, bear and reflect. How did you find out there are add-ons??
Hi dear Murali. Thanks for that helpful hint about the extension pronotes. I like it : ) What I miss most in apple notes is an extension for an "advanced search". Examples: Searching for ... only in titles. Logical operators OR/AND. Searching for notes with a creation date older than ... Searching for notes with a editing date younger than ... Is there anything out there to fulfil such a need?
Thanks for your kind words. There are multiple ways you can achieve that result, including search criteria. Let me do a video on it, give me time till the end of this week. Look for the video this week, probably Friday
Are these pro notes not available for ipad OS ? I checked the link & its only for macOS. I used ipad a lot & would be great if these pro notes are available for ipad as well.
@@muralibalaraman oh Okay. Thanks Sir for the confirmation 🙏🏻. Your channel is very informative & good . Keep it up the good work 👍. Subscribed your channel.
@@thingsmymacdoes yes you can. I have over 4000 shortcuts on my apps. But I remember them only through a stream deck(s). Shortcuts after a point in time don’t really work
These are only available on MacOS, which is a bummer. I use an iPhone and iPad, but for my PC I use a gaming Arch Linux setup because MacOS does not touch Win or Linux in terms of gaming.
You start your video with you using Notes on iPad. Yet I am 99% certain that none of these add ons are compatible with anything else that the macOS version of notes. So what is the point of creating a situation where your notes become unusable on other devices?
@ChatonJoyeux the results of what I created, including exports can be used yes. The addons are Mac “plugins” . I didn’t create them. I found them, saw that many people didn’t know about them. Did a video
@@muralibalaraman so basically the add ons bring quality of life features without altering the actual content of notes, leading to no compatibility issue on devices without these add-ons. Cool.
I didn't even know there were addons for notes. Thanks
Took a bit of digging
Same omg

Perfect, was already working with number 2 & 3, but no 1 is a little nicer than 2 🙂
thank you for introducing me to these extensions, especially excited about the pronotes one. I didn't know you can add extensions to the notes app.
Thank you
I had no idea there were add-ons for my favorite quick capture app. THANKYOU!
Surprised me as well
Addons for Notes??? This was unexpected, and your explanation was extremely helpful.
This was a great help, thanks mate.

You can create your own custom keyboard shortcuts for Notes or any other app by going to Settings>Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts>App Shortcuts.

Understand. But unfortunate
Thanks for the heads up. Sadly it means this video won't help me either. I appreciate the info though
I hope these developers bring stuff in for the other products since it might help many others as well
left handing a right handed ergo mouse? thats a first
That’s a left handed ergo. The Mx master is right handed, but usable with the left handed ergo
ProNotes Didnt work
Check your settings and permissions . It works even on the beta

Your notes on the iPad still work on the Mac including handwriting. I never said the addons were for the iPad . I work with both devices in tandem
