    Howdy Jake,
    I found your channel here today. Everything you've said is everything I've been doing. I started on January 1st of 2016.
    Beginning prescription was L -4.75 R-5.25. Tomorrow the 29th of Dec I'll be moving my contact prescription to L -2.75 R-3.00. I have been avging -.25 decrease every two to three months after Feb of 2016. That first prescription drop was amazing. was about .75 in each eye. I've been dropping one eye every two months but not the same eye at the same time. Works very well for me. I use readers for up close work. I'm an IT Administrator and I work up close all day, so the readers really help me stay at the edge of focus to makes it pop into focus. I first came across Todd Beckers video on youtube and that is what started me to fix my eyes. I've been wearing corrective lenses since I
    was 9(age 33 now). Started out with a .75 prescription. Makes me mad knowing I could have fixed it then. Ugh. Lasik was never an option for me. cutting my eyes open was never going to happen. hell nah! I try and explain the process to a lot of people and they don't believe me. My wife believes me but she doesn't have the drive to fix her eyes. She sees my improvements and is amazed.
    For the skeptics; The key is to keep your eyes working on clearing a little blur at a time. It does take a while, but you want it to take a while because once you get your eyes where you want them, it will take a lot to change them again.(that's how your eyes work)
    Its funny reading these comments. People have no idea. Very good website. People are just afraid of the effort they have to put into it. It is a life style change. It takes 21 days to stop or start a new habit. The first three weeks are key to starting the process. You have to have the drive and the intellect to keep your eyes on the prize.... pun intended.
    Later.

    Thank-you for making these videos and providing links to literature relating progressive myopia and continual eyeglass wear. I was diagnosed with progressive myopia in elementary school - the strength of my corrective lenses has indeed gradually increased. It's a constant background worry to see any part of your health gradually degrading, eyes especially so since we live in such a visual culture.
    Before watching your videos, I didn't really understand how the eye worked; I was afraid that not wearing glasses while I was reading/doing computer work might weaken or damage my eyes.
    Your videos have empowered me to do some minor experimentation and I've discovered I can read fine without my glasses, although I have to bring the book closer to my face. I also go without my glasses for short periods puttering around the house.
    Thank you so much!

    Hi jake loving your videos, I almost had lasik too but my astigmatism was to high to get it done. Then after this(how silly I know) I did a little research on it and was astounded at what could of happened and thank the heavens above that I could not get it done- only time I’ve been great full for my astigmatism! Scares me every time I hear that word that I could have done it 😬

    SOOOO FREAKING HAPPY that I didn't buy into 'system' Lasik surgery. I want to get ALL lenses off my eyes! Just started measuring my centimeters and learning as much as I can, cannot wait to get my myopia moving in the right direction. Thank you so much Jake!!
    Another health benefit of having no lens on or close to your eye ball is for absorbing Vitamin D through your retina. A very important area for vitamin D to enter your body to prevent disease!

    I can't believe that i almost had Lasik too, i'm glad i didn't! . my cousin did Lasik and she kept encouraging me to do it too, i never wanted to do it before. Her eyes are dry most of the time though. she keeps using eye drops, i asked her if she has to use drops for the rest of her life and she said " probabely yes, but i'm really enjoying having a clear vision, i hated to wear glasses it made me look ugly, you should do Lasik too Nehaya!"
    However, i felt there was something wrong with these kind of surgeries, i always believe in the power of natural treatments, that's when i searched on youtube " how to get your eyesight back naturally", and then after hours of seaeching and getting through videos of the bates method, i finally found the most beautiful gift ever, which is Jake's channel ❤.
    The funny thing Jake, is that i found your channel because of a weird comment on a video of an optometrist who says that myopia is irreversible and caused by genetic factors, the comment said " you're lucky Jake Steiner isn't here to hear you😂😂😂"
    I was like " who's Jake? And why would he not want to watch this?" And that's when i searched your name and found this channel, now i totally understand that comment, i actually laugh hard on every time i remember it😂😂😂😂😂
    Btw, I ordered a new glasses and i'm SUPER excited to srart the journey of recovering my eyesight🤍🤍
    Thank you Jake! You're our hero and saviour. ⚘

After researching on the Bates Method for months, watching all those videos, it just didn't make sense! Then I stumbled on your videos, and suddenly it makes PERFECT sense! My sister-in-law is gonna hate me,....she's graduating as an optometrist this year hehe :P

    Have you heard of a new procedure called SMILE? It’s the same concept as LASIK except the incision is smaller, so it is supposed to be a little “better” for dry eyes. I actually considered having the surgery several months ago, but I am so glad I didn’t go that route and found EndMyopia instead!!!!!

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  6 лет назад +2

      Yea LASIK has a bad name, it’s mostly just a marketing exercise.

  • @xxpowwowbluexx
    @xxpowwowbluexx 3 года назад +4

    The irony is myopia is completely reversible, but LASIK (with its inherent damage AND its risk of complications) is completely irreversible.

  • @xxpowwowbluexx
    @xxpowwowbluexx 3 года назад +4

    You’re still myopic when you get LASIK, even if the procedure allows you to see at 20/20.

      Lasik is just another lens. Your eye is still too long

    I was going to get Lasik long ago. But for some reason, the fact that a flap is made etc did not make me get it. And the cost though I can afford it. Looking back 10 years later. I am glad I did not get it. Recently I read a lot more about this surgery after the suicide of Detroit meteorologist and I am amazed that this surgery is still marketed. The way it is portrayed is easy peasy, no effect and you will not need glasses or contacts. It is unethical, to say the least.

    Hi Jake, I have a question that is really confusing me. I don't have axial myopia because I have clear flashes every few 'blinks' or so when looking in the distance. So I don't know whether to were a + 1 for close work and a reduced prescription of -0.5 (instead of the prescriped -1) for looking at things within 10 feet. My thinking is that these are necessary for axial myopia but distance vision and good visual habits will be sufficient in relaxing my cillary muscles. Thanks. (Otis Brown, I would be interested in hearing your opinion on this as well, because you seem to have a great understanding of plus lense use.)

Now i have -1,5 ast on one, -0,25 on other. Had only -0,75 on one. Myopia didnt change, only astigmatism for 6 years cuz stupid exercises...

    • @endmyopia

      Same as LASIK. Just marketing, trying to get away from all the bad LASIK reviews.

  • @Mewier

    If the key to getting rid of my myopia is taking my glasses off while doing close-up work, then why did I get myopia in the first place? I knew I had myopia 3 months before I got my glasses - reading and using my computer without glasses did not improve anything. Or have I misunderstood something?

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  7 лет назад

      That's not the key to getting rid of myopia. 1) Removing excess correction reduces hyperopic defocus risk and with it, progressive myopia. 2) There isn't "a key" or any special "one weird trick". 3) Read more.

      endmyopia Apologies if I came off as arrogant. The information just seems scattered out in a very large amount of videos and I'm having trouble getting a picture of what this is about. I've signed up for your 7 day newsletter however, looking forward to reading that.

    What about PRK surgery where they actually shave off some of ur cornea rather than make a flap is that just as bad?

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  7 лет назад

      Different potential side effects. But still a permanent irreversible lens, corneal thinning a potential concern, all that where you could just make some habit adjustments and get back your eyesight without invasive procedures. :)

      endmyopia Thank you for replying but my rx is -7.50!:(I've been wearing glasses or contacts since I was 13 years old and at the time I was only at about a -1.75. Its so upsetting that the optometrist told me to wear the glasses all the time !:( After a few years of wearing glasses I did ask the optometrist why my eyesight is getting worse and worse like huge jumps and he told oh theres there's nothing wrong ;you have healthy eyes just really fuzzy eyesight. It just worried me because every single year they got worse. The optometrist said my eyes would stabilize and I think they finally quit getting worse for like a year finally.I am glad I found your chanel by the way it really gives me hope!:)

    I'm doing the 7 day thing. Can I ask you a few questions ? So I've been seeing black flickering flashes , shadows ,colors ,and sparkles ,even kind of static vision in both eyes I'm -3.25 age 14 I've been really depressed cause Ik IMA be blind maybe next year is this normal? Did you have those symptoms too? Your channel has given me a lot of inspiration but I'm just highly depressed. Please reply I just wanna know if you had those symptoms already too so I can beware this isn't just me . And how Since when you were a kid ,and had -5.00 did it stay like that? Everyday I wake up knowing that I'm getting blinder every second ,and I'm too young to be worrying every night and day it's gotten to the point where I'm even crying while typing this.I really need help before it gets to the point I'm blind.I told this to my family ,and orthodontist they acted like it was foreign ,and my family just be like "you'll be fine" but the internet filled my mind with negativity.I feel hopeless ,and I don't understand why it just had to happen to me because I never had eye problems ,and over the summer I was on my phone for abnormal time but my brother was on his phone more than me ,and he still is why doesn't he have Myopia? This feels like a curse I don't want to prevent progression I want to completely stop this ,and idk how I see all these methods ,and I feel like its a waste of time. One article said that it was impossible ,and I'll never gett better. On how come on Google it says Myopia is common but retinal detachment is rare ? Don't myopia end up with retinal detachment

      Gabi D please don't worry having myopia is not that bad. I'm -9.00 myopic and as long as I can see when I put spectacles on it doesn't bother me. Iv never met anyone that went blind from myopia.

      Gabi D it started when I was 3 years old! it stopped changing when I was about 18. my optometrist told me that eye sight usually stabilises and stays the same from about age 18 so don't worry it won't just keep getting worse and worse.

    lasik is no way different from glasses or contacts????!!? thats a joke. i see u dont wear glasses u sound ignorant as hell. Glasses to no glasses glasses u cant swim with them or with contacts u can lose both u can get stuff in ur eyes contacts get irritated glasses can fly off can break contacts are expensive u have to take them out b4 bed no matter how dead u are u have to drag yourself to remove them. glasses u get it a fight 1 punch to the head or face glasses off boom chances of losing the fight weaken by crazy amount i guess unless u have ok vision in my experience with contacts and glasses my vision is horrible got really bad from 8 to 16 yrs old im 18 now i do want lasik may get it soon. glasses contacts u wake up its much harder to get out of bed when everything's blurry compared to sharp vision.. emergency contacts u can run out of liquid to store them in glasses may not have them in an accident u will be handicapped visually its just not fun. u sleep in contacts 1 night risk of damaging ur eyes will also be very dry. GL and remember oh lasik or this or that is 1000 2 3 thousand dollars Health is Wealth. also on the progression on bad vision my vision has stopped changing i wear glasses as i mentioned b4 but contacts are much sharper its a pain to put on every day and take off imo on some days . Glasses glasses glasses not that sharp even though said its 20/20 the lenses aren't close enough to my eyes unless the hold frames up to my face i have gotten new frames its the same
