Love the video but that explanation at 11:20 ish is bonkers lmao. It’s blocking the air from entering the window which is bad because it creates drag, drag reduces speed. Joey’s hand is not making downforce brother that made my day😂
It's not exactly wrong, but the reason is. They definitely stick their hand out of the window to block the air, hence the webbed glove. The real advantage is that the disrupted airflow off the glove is not going to hit the spoiler, so the drag on the hand is far less than the drag would have been on the spoiler. So overall it's reducing drag.
To people saying the wall-ride was already a rule, the rule nascar pointed to was simply that safety is important, they never specifically outlawed the wallride UNTIL it was done.

How can you time an engine to detonate after the race? 1-100 things can make a race/sprint race last a little longer. To me, it sounds like DW probably held the throttle down & pressed the clutch to the floor, causing an engine failure. I'm not a mechanic, so idk
@30anvz28 this is why I watch 3/36 races because the officials are not consistent. The race cars are nothing but model car-kits & a bunch of other small things.
NASCAR should quit closing loopholes. If everyone can exploit them then it isn’t cheating and makes for more entertainment. Just like the wall riding. That was something to see and we’d all like to see it again.
Much like Burton's pit scheme was inspired by Michael Schumacher at Silverstone, Chastain's access road gambit was inspired by Fernando Alonso's intentional corner skip several months earlier at the Russian GP.
