Aqua Man(You can stop him, with Flash Bombs and plus Flash Bombs destroy the Middle Boss with the most useful Rush Mechanism "Rush Medic" quickly. Aqua Man is a pushover Sissy Robot, so you don't need to waste time beating Astro Man. You can waste Aqua Man quickly once you reach Wily Tower). Sword Man. (Use Water Balloon. There's a hidden Shortcut in the 2nd Half of the Stage that you burst open with Flash Bomb.) Search Man.(NEVER go to Search Man Last. Its an exercise in futility as your just wasting time trudging through a stage with too many hit radius enemies. There's TOO MANY Hidden Bolts that can be accessed using Thundercaw. Going to Search Man BEFORE you go to Astro Man means you'll be able to purchase more items because you'll have found at least 27 of the Games' 32 Bolts. Use Flame Sword. Astro Man. ALWAYS Beat him last. His stage is a mind numblingly TEDIOUS and annoying Maze. When you go to him last, it feels much more rewarding plus, with Homing Sniper, your cutting down all of the obnoxious Sky Enemies that slow you down. When you rush over and beat his stage first, your putting yourself through asinine tedium and annoyance. Trust me, if you go to Astro Man, you'll be able to clear his Maze at a much smoother, and hastier pace.

I have this version (Japanese version, can't understand shit said, but Light's not Fudd at least), the PS1 version, and of course the PS1 version again on MMAC on PS2 (which uses the PS1 version). Either version is fine to play, but the Saturn version does have a nice couple nostalgic bonus boss fights. Of course, jump, jump, slide, slide can still go to hell, no matter the version.
While I didn't mind the rocket skateboarding sequence in Frost Man's stage all that much, the sequence in Dr. Wily's Stage 1 can be a fucking nightmare for me. In my humble opinion, it seems SO easy, but, even after many years of having and beating Mega Man 8 on the PlayStation and in Mega Man Collection on the PlayStation, I ALWAYS screw up the last jump. However, I do know that the last jump can be "cheated" if you use Astro Crush in the air at the right moment. Still, I agree with you outright on the rocket skateboarding sequence.
