- This is my new collection I have started of weird sounding Wheelock 7002T's. After thinking about it, I think they are cool because it makes the alarm one of a kind. Enjoy the video!

Yep! 7002Ts are known for each sounding different! I have two; one sounds scratchy and the other one sounds fine...I think it's pretty cool!
One of the residential homes I was in had one in the downstairs kitchen on the right, next to the fridge and the strobe was real strange, 1 flash per 5 seconds or something like that! But it sounded fine...
My friend has two in his house, maybe more. They are not hooked up.

There should be a tension/volume screw somewhere on those units.
It sounds like their volume screws need to be loosened quite a bit.
Yep, there is, however the way these are sounding was their default setting.
1:03 sounds like an m r i machine. its really interesting to hear what an older fire alarm sounds like compared to the beep of nowadays. ps, if ive already posted a similar comment, I don't always remember what i've commented on or what i haven't. I have autism and recently have been really getting into looking at and listening to different fire alarms. I never knew how interesting they actually are.
I'm autistic too and also love fire alarms. I've been watching them since I was like 8 or 9.

I think that the second one might have the tensioner too tight it sounds like the plate is barely vibrating.

finding them in ONE building does not make an alarm common
Where I live the 7002T is one of the most common alarms. I see them along with BG-10s everywhere.
That second weird sounding 7002T sounded like a floppy drive.
One that's not a typical one at 1:04, sounds like it's saying "Lawwwllll" lol.
I think it was meant to be on continuous. Maybe the strobe was meant to skip the horn as some sort of coding
Hey there's 2 screws in the back, if they are to tight, then thats why it sounds so weird.

The 2nd weird 7002t sound very weird. It’s more of a strobe than a horn strobe
Either the two weird sounding ones have been running off AC before you got them or maybe they just had fun with it before installing it
whoever installed them should be fired then

I will be buying one of these from your EBay store, but I would like the one that isn't very loud... Can I buy that one if it is still available?
For whatever reason, my 7002t is acting like it's underpowered even though I'm using a 24 volt DC power supply. Like, the horn is low pitched and the strobe flashes really slowly. I've tried playing with the volume screws but that didn't help.

The odd squad
My school has these but they don't sound that weird. BUT THEY DONT WORK CORRECTLY THERE BROKEN! Including gymnasium and high school and middle school hallway. Middle school hallways and gym plus elementary hallways all have different fire alarms. NONE WORK. WORST SCHOOL FIRE ALARM EVER

my school has gentex commander 3'sor 2's and when I was in kindergarten I cried when they sounded bc it was so loud and it's set on code 3 horn. when my teacher said we were going to have a fire drill I turned pale and I wanted to leave school bc it was loud.

That's typical when the screw needs to be readjusted, IIRC. Ironically, I heard a '9806 sound like 1:28 and then it starts sounding more normal the longer the panel is in alarm, (Simplex 2001 in continuous, looks like possibly a late one) seemed to be stuck, lol. (Crotched Mountain School, Greenfield, NH)
