We must understand the difference between novels and history. This kalki novel is a fictional novel with fictional and false characters. It's really unfortunate that people here are celebrating that novel as Chola's history. And forget their real history. And people in tamilnadu entertaining this PS movie as a masterpiece. Lies always come with a drumbeat but the truth always comes slowly.

Whilst everyone limiting to Kalki's Ponniyin Selvan, I would recommend you all to read the book "Kadigai" by Mr. Balakumaran who named these Ravidasan, Parameswaren, Banugoper and Brahmarayen in this Novel who were all Apathuvigal of Pandian. This Kalvettu also depicts the same, so its evident that it's not Periya Paluvettaiyer as it expressed in Ponniyin Selvan.
They r all liars.. Trying to safeguard all those 4 bhramins who killed Aditya Karikalan.. Including Manitathinam.. Mr. Sowrirajan Narayanan...

I don't understand all this hullaboo of Brahmins killing Aditya Karikala. We have to understand those brahmims were themselves serving a King. They had to work for their king. Those days we weren't one country like today. It was different kingdoms. These brahmins were loyal to their own king and kingdom. They killed their enemy prince. These kind of incidents are very common in history amongst all kings. Just because there was a novel and a film a lot is just being written and spoken about without understanding the mindset of people living 1000 years back. We became Indians only after Britishers came to our country

Uththama chozhan was not killed Aditya karikalan i think. Coz Rajendra chozhan who is the son of Rajaraja chozhan @ Arul mozhi varman was again called as Uththama chozhan. If suppose Uththama chozhan is bad in nature how the empire named his son as Uththama Chozhan
Brahmarajan/ Brahmaarayar were those who participated in Government affairs and did participate in wars. Killing them wasn't Brahmahati. Classic case being Krishnan Raman who was part of Chola army. They formed a minority amongst Brahmins. Majority were Bhattars. From what i see it was an act of revenge by panchava/pandya brahmarajans against Adhithan. But what about Parameswaran an irumudi chola brahmarajan? Possibly a traitor. We can only guess. Also i feel 20 years is not long enough for peoples memory to fade. There would have been those who were alive during Aditha's murder. So the inscription must be fairly reliable. Of course the inscription could have been destroyed by Brahmins, but wasn't. So it is a mystery. The sad thing is without proper understanding some are eager to blame all Brahmins.

Aditya Karikal Cholan was assasinated only by the brahmins. The reason of this fact obviously lies in the punishment subsequently meted out to the assassins. For any murder, Kings of yore used to give & execute capital punishment.
So to say, even for lesser crimes, capital punishment had been given. Being so how come the assasins were banished from chola nadu after confistication of their properties ?
There was an exception in this rule if the culprits were brahmins. In 10 century A.C, Chola dynasty was steeped in Hinuism & latter's precepts.
Accordingly as per hindu scrptures, capital punishment for brahmins was considered a taboo & sin - even for crimes of rape & murder.
Such precept could be found even today in some hindu scriptures. Hence the assasins, ( murderers) of Aditya Karikalan were let off with lesser & minor punishments by Raja raja cholan who was a devout hindu.

As I usually mention, We know who has killed in the 10th century ( We have strong evidence ( Choza and Pandiya Brahmins ) for this ). But we never know why they killed him.
Legend Kalki played this in his novel and somehow he didn’t show the caste of the killer Nandini is the fictional character. Anyway, we are going to see this in the movie by Tomorrow . History is not clear about the reason behind his murder.
