Beautiful! I would love to try this, it makes a lot of sense because gouache is so brittle, and one way to seal it so it doesn’t flake off as wax… So putting oil pastel on top of it is a good idea :-)

I’ve never tried gouache on regular canvas. Acrylic gouache will work for sure but artist and designer gouache might not adhere properly. I would use some sort of paper for those. There is such a thing as watercolor primed canvas - that might be a good option!
