Aging Wheels is one of the funniest car channels and deserves more subs. He's drily hilarious but knows his way around mechanical things. He doesn't post often but his videos are high quality.
"Sometimes I just want to pick my nose and not be noticed". Between that and the owning weird cars, he's pretty much the human equivalent of my spirit animal.
His videos are funny and fascinating, but his voice is so calming and reassuring that he hypnotises me to sleep - then I have to check my history and watch what I missed.
Aging Wheels / Robert Dunn is, far and away, one of the most authentic and genuine guys on RUclips. His channel is VERY entertaining, sometimes informative, and all in all absolutely worth supporting.
Talking only about the cars, Robert obviously does not know why his channel is SO popular. I submit it is his humor, humility, and amazing editing skills. Pure Entertainment. And Robert, if you read this...more bus content please.
I'm so glad I found robs channel just as he got the robin, such a great channel. Living in the UK means we get some weird and wonderful stuff from all over the place at shows, some of it really must be terrifying at any speed above stationary, but a reliant model I've always liked is the scimitar, such a cool looking car
I'm a big fan of robs channel too as well Hubnut. Also a UK viewer, ironically, there is a blue reliant scimitar sitting on a driveaway, neglected covered in leaves on my way to work that I've gone past for the last 7 years.
@@squeakers27 I wonder if you'll like the channel Bad Obsession Motorsport. Two oldish british guys currently building a road legal 4wd British Leyland Mini. Good humour too.
I'm ten months late, but as someone who has watched WAY too much Top Gear (even if I am American) I am obligated to say "A Reliant Scimitar? Princess Anne had one of those."
This guy has one of my favorite automotive RUclips channels. He's hilarious, the cars he profiles (whether or not they're his) are always interesting and different, and there's just something endearing about the way he goes "WHEEEEEE" when driving his Robin in circles.
One of my favorite car youtubers. Even if you're not interested in these cars he makes them interesting and found a really unique niche to capitalize on.
Robert is a great guy, love his sense of humor. It's always a treat when we get something new, it's going to be fun and informative. Can't wait for the electric bus build out.
Aging Wheels is definitely one of my favorites. I like Trabants myself, and always wondered what they sounded and drove like. But thanks to Robert's channel, I now know what the inside of the engine looks like, and I know you can take a Trabant shift lever onto an airplane if you just say it's your cane.
This episode was great. I've been watching AW and Hubnut for years and as a UK viewer, it would be amazing if Robert came to festival of the unexceptional one year.
Still have my trabant .... chopped the roof off with a hand saw ( it's made from cardboard...wood...), the carburetor is by gravity so we made a bigger flow ( gave it more hp ) .... it's the same white yellowish color, 4 speed column shifter .... and not many people know but in 4th if you take your foot off the gas, the engine goes into sleep mode 🤣🤣
Yup, I was thinking HubNut was his UK counterpart to his eclectic taste in off brand cars. Ian of HubNut also has a kind of humor that makes you laugh like Robert does on his observations. It must be the kind of personality that's drawn to oddball cars that brings it out in them both. Also if you know what the "Triangle Of Doom" is in relation to proper coverage, than you've seen HubNut give his opinion of a car for sure.
no matter how long his hybrid bus car hauler thing build takes, I'm still waiting for it. Could be 5 years, could be 10, so long as I can find his videos I will be watching.
Dunn really needs to get a kei van like a Suzuki Carry and do as much hauling and transporting with it as possible to add to the ridiculousness of his collection. He's driven a bunch of kei cars, he just needs to buy one now lol
55 years ago my piano/organ teacher drove a Trabant. Pumping mixed gas was never a problem cause most mopeds used mixed gas. You could be it everywhere. This was in the Netherlands.
Robert if your reading this.. you should look into caterham alternatives. In the UK you can get some nice alternatives that are often really good and cheap as chips in comparison. From 'West fields' which are very similar to caterhams, to things a bit more unusual like a 'panther' kit car that are pretty unusual things.
Easily one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Love this guy! His passion for shitty cars is delightful, and his sense of humor is so refreshing in a sea of vloggers who take themselves far too seriously.
When I dropped by Walmart once I saw a familiar looking, baige, econo-hatch from the 80s it seemed. I stopped parked next to him. Then I realized it was Yugo. I was like: "That's cool a hell, is that a Yugo?". The guy was like: "I got it for my wife. She wanted one...I'm surprised you even know what this is given the car you're in." I said: "I may drive a car on the fancier side but I'm a nerd for weird or unusual cars."
I love this guy. I love the way he screws up and includes that in his video, he is just like many of us, knows enough to get himself in trouble but not enough to get out of that trouble. Not really, he usually get himself out of said trouble.
He made a few videos there. I think he drove some weird French EV with center seating, maybe the Volkswagen XL1 (maybe that was Doug D.), and some other weird little thing.
Nevermind "The festival of the Unexceptional" it's too 'Corporate' ! The show that I want to attend is up in 'Scotland' and it's called 'Shitefest'. I used to own a 258,000 mile Toyota with lots of things broken on it, but unfortunately someone crashed into me and now it's 'no more' but I did get to replace it with a similar (but much better) Toyota, so it's too good to show off as it's only got 160,000 miles on it !
I drive an 87 celebrity and its a real basic car, but I get all kinds of looks and smiles. odd cars that you dont see every day or anymore always brings a smile to peoples faces
The average soviet wage was 200 Rubles per month. To get a Lada you needed to be on like a 8 year wait list and come up with 10k Rubles. So as you can imagine people treasured these cars. The exported Ladas had more options to compete with non-communist brands. In the USSR people took their wiper blades with them because limited production led to thefts.
I remember finding his channel after I saw Doug Demuro review his Trabant. Aging Wheels wasn't an amazing channel at the time but I'm glad I stuck around, it's one of my favorite YT channels now.
He uploads like once every two weeks. For how involved his videos are, I think that’s pretty good. I’m sure he spends so many hours working on camera on things. He’s not just sitting in front of a computer screen
Definitely, I had a profitable channel for years on my other account and it's a lot of work putting out good videos. He puts a ton if work into what he does which is one of the reasons I'd love to watch his antics more often.
9500 for a Lada. I remember when they could give these away. Remember my grandad have an estate one, 12k on the clock and about 6 years old. Grand sum of £320 in early 2000s.
What happend to the Volvo c30 t5, the car I was most excited about in your fleet and you made 1 video about it, quite possibly the most beautiful cat ever made and the right colour and the right rdesign kit
Congrats on Lada. Polski fiat is basically old 500. I’m sure there is at least a few in Chicago. For 2 stroke Wartburg might be your thing, but for the love of god do NOT get Syrena.
With his love of small odd cars I would respectfully suggest that he is the "Captain Slow" that the CarTrek series could use....... Every video his is a treat!
Aging Wheels is one of the funniest car channels and deserves more subs. He's drily hilarious but knows his way around mechanical things. He doesn't post often but his videos are high quality.
agreed!
Aging wheels is the missasinfonia of car youtubers
He's the only good car channel
Reliant robin is not wired or funny it’s CULT same as a Trabant
True
Robert is also the king of impact screwdriver video editing
A real impact screwdriver editing pioneer.
And rivet guns, and spot welding
He is a good editor in general.
I could actually hear that just reading your comment.
Robert is just such a likable guy. Absolutely a national treasure that must be preserved.
And nick cage or Harrison ford should be involved in the preservation!
hes my favorite RUclipsr by far
Captain Bob is fun.
"Sometimes I just want to pick my nose and not be noticed". Between that and the owning weird cars, he's pretty much the human equivalent of my spirit animal.
Robert Dunn is awesome!!!!
This guy is honestly so easy to listen to with his enthusiasm even if you’re not an enthusiast of his car type! Another banger episode.
I'm not even a car enthusiast, period, and I love to watch his videos. His sense of humour, scripts and video editing style is just amazing!
The bits where he tells you he has no idea what he's doing and just going at it are the best moments.
@@yvan2563Have you watched Under Dunn?

Robert is an awesome guy. Love his both channel.
I'm a Patreon supporter of this guy, the first and only creator I support, I love his content to pieces and always get giddy every time he uploads
I didn't see the thumbnail, I only saw the title, and knew exactly who it was. Love AgingWheels, and the Technology Connection crossover was hilarious
Talking only about the cars, Robert obviously does not know why his channel is SO popular. I submit it is his humor, humility, and amazing editing skills. Pure Entertainment.

If you're gonna have a car collection, make it unique I say. And Aging Wheels collection is one of the most unique on RUclips.

Robert is the only guy who manages to make me watch his advertising segments.
I love Robert!!! His videos are so watchable and the subtle comedic editing is just the cherry on top. Also his latest build is gonna be nuts
Rob deserves some exposure and some fame. He's the car hero we don't deserve.
This guy has one of my favorite automotive RUclips channels. He's hilarious, the cars he profiles (whether or not they're his) are always interesting and different, and there's just something endearing about the way he goes "WHEEEEEE" when driving his Robin in circles.
As someone who owns a square body Chevy luv, a 5 speed 2 door Cherokee, and a limo, I can relate to the weird car niche and his fascination with them
One of my favorite car youtubers. Even if you're not interested in these cars he makes them interesting and found a really unique niche to capitalize on.

IKR. Someone should set up a funding thingy to get him there. I'd kick in ten bucks.
There’s his chance, he can throw his own car show for the strange cars.
I really enjoy Robert’s videos. His personality and presentation are just infectious.
And I thought I was weird for liking large sedans! That Lada is Combloc magic.

I love the strange cars. Nothing made me laugh harder than the Top Gear guys driving a Robbin or a Reaver.
Robert is king absolute treasure you profiled him on here.
Robert is a gem!! Long live the AgingWheels.
Update: Robert did in fact get the Polski Fiat. Its a nugget but I've never seen one in such good condition.
Well, what a charming nugget
He is not only an oddball car collector, he also love to collect more power tools than he will ever be able to use. He is the real Tim Taylor.
Anyone who loves weird cars NEEDS to go to the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville Tennessee. It is packed full of oddball one-offs and other crazy stuff.
Everyone needs a niche!

I figured sooner or later Robert Dunn would be entering the fun world of Soviet automobiles! Can’t wait to see what he does with it!
Absolutely one of the best car channels on the RUclipss!
I can’t wait for his lada intro video. Ben pack needs to hook up Robert with a couple of those drive on lifts
I genuinely want to be friends with Robert.
No you don’t, trust me buddy
this aged well, he's got even more weird cars now
Two stroke SAABS were really cool and V-4's as well! I owned two 96 SAABS with 2 stroke and a 95 model with a V-4 in the 1970's..
Dunn really needs to get a kei van like a Suzuki Carry and do as much hauling and transporting with it as possible to add to the ridiculousness of his collection.
He's driven a bunch of kei cars, he just needs to buy one now lol
No he needs one of the eastern block alternatives for that like the Multicar.
Having fun with your cars should be the best part of having them. :]
Hope he can get some more of the eastern block "masterpieces".
There is also a Lada club in Finland. It started as a joke in comedy show, but some people made it real. They even sell merch. Or at least used to.
Thank you so much for having him on this! ❤
